Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I finally got my phone back from Samsung (kept restarting for no reason) so I am back in the tapping game ... just need the gazebo to finish off the wheel.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Pending Update: May be an ad-hoc event/new gameplay feature coming later today as V-Day gets deactivated. As usual with the end of full-themed events, this will require an app update via your app store -- between 11 am and 2 pm Eastern is the pattern.

Spoiler:

A neighbor-related event, where you visit neighbors for points (pretty much identical to the way hearts were paid out and collected during V-day 2014; points reset after each level) and unlock items such as Snowball II (1k points), Stampy the Elephant (5k points -- task-able as well), another restaurant (2k points), Homer's car (2k points) and the Olmec head decoration (1k points -- which has been in game files since 2012).

This may be in lieu of true Level 39 since there will likely be a short St. Patrick's Day event in a couple of weeks (likely a large portion will just be a rehash of 2013's StP-Day) and if the rumors are true about
Spoiler:
Sideshow Bob becoming a playable character
there's a good chance for an episode tie-in around that time too.

Me too. Now that I'm leveled up and have a million in cash the drive to play is lessened. I do have to complete the Tooth Chipper in Krustyland. I guess I'll be sending everyone available for tasks there.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

It appears they've fixed the crashing when visiting neighbors as well with this update. I made it through every single one without one problem.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

With the new update you gain "Friend Points" which will unlock items/buildings/characters over time. From what I am seeing online...

TRY TO TAP ON YOUR NEIGHBORS' SPRAY CANS FIRST!!!

...apparently that gives the person whose town you are in "Friend Points" as well whereas the menus and money will only give you "Fiend Points".

So for those of you that are visiting my town, if you can hit Moe's Tavern, City Hall, Police Station, or Springfield Elementary those are preferable.

Lucky you. I have been trying since it was announced that it was "easier" to win, but no luck here.

I thought for a little while until my actual phone rebooted going into someone's town.

So, I need to borrow someone's Kindle, log in to my Springfield, link the Kindle to my Amazon account, burn down the Coins I have there to buy donuts, then un-do all of that?

BTW - According to the folks at TSTOAddicts.com, the Squidport Tile glitch (as well as similar glitches at Cletus's Farm and Channel 6) have all been "fixed" by EA - they no longer work.

When you went to someone else's town if they had a tile, crop or news station mission completed, you would see a little thing floating over it, just like you would if you had one finished in your own town.

When you tapped on it, the person would see a handshake. The handshakes were stackable. For instance, I probably got 50 free tiles by leaving one handshake up and having other people tap the tile. If you had corn completed, you could let the handshakes accrue and each one was worth $45,000 (or whatever corn is worth. Same with the value for the news missions.

Tapping the tiles in other peoples towns also gave the tapper a ton of experience (usually 1000 points or so), so it was an easy way to level up.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

As far as I can see, they haven't simply fixed that glitch. They have it set so that handshakes never regenerate. As long as a handshake is there, nothing can be tapped. I have several towns, with nothing to tap.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I tapped on a tile yesterday, then left the town and went back in, and I couldn't tap the tile again. I didn't notice how many XP I got but it was probably normal.

Damn....wish I knew about that. I need to check this thread more often. I'm on level 26 right now. Seems like it's taking forever to level up now.

Vandalizing used to be my first action when I visited a neighbor, then I heard of some possible negative consequences so I avoided those and just tapped on the most time-intensive buildings. Now I'm retraining myself to vandalize first.

Valentine's Day was underwhelming, but at least it was easy when a neighbor had dozens of tappable people and it didn't matter which one I hit.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I'm trying to find spray cans but really it's a pain in the butter scrolling around some towns to find things to tap.

My main is to get in and get out as fast as I can. I rarely even now notice who's town I'm in.

Yep. That's why I have some brown houses in the center.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

We've had so many events that have thrown off the center, and now that we're back to normal I see my center is still Whacking Day. For now, I've moved Moe's to the vicinity of the police station and town hall.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

i'm just about to abandon this game. continues to freeze on my galaxy s4 phone. consistently have to restart the game just to get through the cycle of my own characters or doing friends tasks. it is a shame, because i've probably spend about $40 on it. oh well.
