What a load of BS. I was on the page from 7:50 this morning and refreshed until 8:20. Never once did it come up with any option to buy or pre-order. I was on the correct page, I know that much.

I got it to show up once from the link Moviepage had up there, around 8:01. didn't buy one, but it was available for at least a second.

Forza 5:

4/5 stars from Joystiq

The Xbox One game is locked at 60 frames per second and a 1080p resolution, conveying a level of clarity, lighting quality and polished material detail that I have not yet seen in a console racing game.
http://www.joystiq.com/2013/11/20/fo...-cloud-strife/

9/10 from Polygon

Forza 5 is beautiful, sure, with a stunning, light-filled world of engines and tire smoke. But with the introduction of aggressive, convincing AI that makes every offline race feel like a multiplayer competition, Turn 10 has charted a course for the future of the series — and created the Xbox One's first must-own game.

9/10 from Destructoid

Forget racers. This is one of the best looking videogames I've ever laid eyes on.

I don't think this got answered, but after going through the Smartglass app, it appears that "combo breaker" and "ultra edition" are both treated as add-ons to the main game. Unfortunately, no pricing is listed, but I also hope you can just add the "ultra" add-on later without paying another $40. If it's priced at $20 and "requires combo-breaker" as well, then I'm cool with that.

I'm going to try to rent it, but there's no way I can take any of those reviews seriously. At least Joystiq mentions no Nurburgring, but none of the reviews touch on any of the other things it seems.

I don't know man. I'm not a fan of Sim racers much anymore, but Nurburgring would definitely be something I'd expect to see.

I hated having to race that track in the past Forza's, but it's a must. Have they ever said why they were missing something like the ring?

So Forza looks beautiful... and it plays... what?? I'm not a racing sim guy either so I'm passing. But giving a game high praise for it's looks is nonsense.

I don't get the praise myself, it's very similar to prior Forzas with half the content.

Some bullshit about it being an old scan and they needed to redo it. Which sounds like nonsense since they redid the 'ring for Forza 4. It's a rushed sequel obviously, but they didn't want to just come out and say it. Don't worry though, we'll see it as paid DLC supposedly! -rolleyes-

Whatever, I'll play it for a few weeks before GT6 comes out.

Well, apparently it's a perfect game according to some reviews. So were the previous games beyond perfect? Or I guess the 1080p/60fps-ness of it makes up for the huge dearth of content.

Unfortunately I see this becoming a bigger trend this generation, as it's really nothing new, of paying the same price for far less content. If you want to charge $99 for a game, just be upfront about it and charge $99 for the game, this "Season Pass" bullshit on games like this and Battlefield 4 is annoying as hell. I always saw DLC as bonus features, kind of like returning to Rapture in BioShock, not selling you stuff that should have been a part of the game to begin with.

Hell at least expansion packs back in the day featured whole new campaigns, and those were usually half the price of the full game.

Edge was really critical about that as well: http://www.edge-online.com/review/fo...port-5-review/

Forza 5 is a game defined not by its options, but by the absence of them.

Forget the longed-for dynamic weather and night racing: on the way to the new generation, Forza has lost some 300 cars, over 20 locations and countless tracks, gaining versions of Spa-Francorchamps, Mount Panorama, Yas Marina and the city of Prague by way of small compensation. And by losing tracks, Forza loses the variety of racing that made it great. Without Fujimi Kaido, there is no touge racing; without drag strips, there can be no drag racing; with only one oval, there is no real Daytona; without the Nürburgring, there is no iconic endurance race; and without the beautiful Camino Viejo De Montserrat, there is no joy.

Montserrat was the showpiece of Forza 3 – the moment sim racing stopped being po-faced – and losing it is endemic of a step back to the days when Forza had no car clubs where friends could share their hard-earned vehicles, where the UI was lumpen and slow, and where a sliver of content was stretched to breaking point and beyond. Forza 5’s 200 cars and 14 tracks make for a substantial package, but are limited enough that the game abandons the notion of offering free cars as awards, simply doling out credits instead. UI transitions are glacial and the Top Gear cutscenes unskippable, as if length were a substitute for Forza’s usual breadth.

There is a menu option for the Forza Marketplace, but it hasn’t yet been activated; presumably it’s still being tested prior to launch. It’s one of the countless features Forza players ordinarily expect that we’ve lost on the way to Xbox One. A quick list? There’s no way to sell unused cars back to the AI or to other players, no bespoke onscreen speedometers, no test driving a car before purchase, no kid-friendly Kinect steering or Kinect support in Forzavista, no opportunity to load a circuit-specific tuning setup before a career race, no exiting from a race series without loading up the next track, no unicorn cars, no ‘reasonably priced car’, no auction house, no storefront, and no surprise, really. Forza 5 is a launch game with all the spectacle and disappointment we’ve come to expect from launch games. While the handling is still magic and the content on offer is substantial in a way, Forza 5 is best seen as a foundation for what Forza 6 will be in a couple of years. By comparison, this launch-day sampler will seem awfully limited, far from the hoped-for victory lap impossible on prior hardware. After all, it seems limited by comparison with Forza 4 now.
Ouch. I'm new to the Forza franchise, so I don't know what I'm missing and am still excited.

Half the content should = half the price. Give us $30 worth of DLC to choose from. Or go the Killer Indtinct route. 10 cars and 3 tracks free with the option to buy each car individually or pay for the whole package.

I managed to order a Day One console this morning at Amazon thanks to 1-Click ordering. It's showing as scheduled for delivery on Monday, even with next-day shipping, so I may still hit Kmart early on Friday to try to get one on launch day. If I end up with two of them, I figure someone I know will probably want the extra one.

It's Forza, it's going to get 8s and 9s. This shouldn't surprise anyone and they should be happy to get a great racing game. At the end of the day, you drive a car around a track just like every other racing game ever made :)

Ummm you're keeping CoD but calling DR3 lackluster? Interesting.

If anything, the DR3 reviews are much more positive and the game is a blast to play. Sure it might not be a show stopper in the graphics department, but if you like previous DR games, it looks fantastic.

Yeah a big thing for DR3 is if you liked the previous games. They made it a little less quirky but if you enjoy repeatedly killing zombies I think that game is definitely for you.

I'm not calling DR3 lackluster - reviewers are. I'll take my chances on picking it up for under $60 on BF. Also, I love the CoD MP, so I'll always take that over any other brand out there.

Stayed up late last to read and watch some reviews. As frustrated as I am with my PS4 right now it'll evolve into a proper gaming system in time and it seems like the XBOX One will be the same way. Hopefully I won't pay a price for being an early adopter of these systems. With the noise that comes from my 360 at the moment I can't wait ti severely limit the amount of time we use that system.
