Forza looks really bad in that one, color seems off.

Pre-baked lighting =/= dynamic lighting, and I'm only interested in these two games to the extent that one of them is free. I do expect Forza to play better and have more depth given that it's an established franchise, and Driveclub is a new IP.

As to your calling me out personally, I posted this about a month ago. Note that the reflection in Forza comes from the wrong direction relative to the "light source", because it's a parlor trick.

Please leave me out of your thread if you don't want me in it fellas, and then you won't have to cry to the mods. Enjoy.

I post rarely anymore, so consider it honor I mentioned you.

Also - I applaud your ability to determine pre-baked vs dynamic lighting. You must be a wizard of a software engineer.

Lol, my thoughts exactly. I had never even heard of pre-baked lighting before.

And how many times did you yell the equivalent of "Mooooods!!! Are you seeing this?!?!" in the PS4 thread when someone barely ribbed you?

It's like you don't have the slightest bit of self-awareness.

I have enough insight to choose to go elsewhere.

Rather than taking continuous grief from the same 5-6 fanboys, and watching the forum get moderated by majority rule rather than actual post content, I've already chosen to discuss gaming in a forum that better reflects reality and doesn't read like an Xbox fan site and frankly, a joke.

As long as we're talking self-awareness, I suggest taking a look at the last 5-6 pages of both console threads and giving some thought to who's left posting. What do they have in common, and how does the prevailing wisdom on VGTalk line up with every other site on the internet?

The last 5-6 pages of both console threads seem to be made up of mostly the same people who have been in both threads from the start, minus chess.

As much as you want to cast yourself in the lead role of Sony Martyr in "Chess vs. the Fanboys: Episode One," anyone who reads this forum regularly knows how ridiculous that is. Again, calling you out on your one-sided, frequent, pointless trolling is not the same as being an "Xbox fanboy," as the polls here have repeatedly confirmed. The "prevailing wisdom" here, if there is such a thing, is far more even-handed and carefully-considered than most other sites on the internet, and I'm thankful for it.

But enjoy NeoGAF! Your bias will be confirmed there with no challenge, so I'm sure you'll be more comfortable.

And you can enjoy getting your PS news from this MS apologist.

Frankly, I think chess breathes some life into this thread. Aside from the reveal of the Xbone box, there has not been a lot of news lately. Give the guy a break.

I haven't seen too much trolling from either side.

And yeah, the threads in general have been kind of boring.

MS fucked up initially, made some necessary changes.
They both have shitty exclusives for launch.

I just want the damn systems released already so I have play them, on my beautiful 720p TV.

...and I wish I were kidding, I really do need to update my HD1000U. Edit: Oddly since I brought that up, I found my replacement projector, Yaah!

Trolls on other websites? Commonplace. In this forum? Not so much. That's why conversation here is usually more engaging than on other forums.

If this site reads like an xbox fan site, get out of the xbox thread - it's simple. I've seen a lot of good discussion on PS3 gaming here, and have seen MORE Sony specific "hey guys let's organize and play this game" than any Xbox game.

As an 360-only guy, I've always been somewhat mystified by the popularity of the PS3 game night threads here and a couple times have almost asked the mods to give them their own subforum, just so I wouldn't have to see the same four or five threads near the top of the page, day-in and day-out anymore.

720p TV? What... the... fuck? Did I just time travel to 2003? ;)

Fuck, at least I have a 1080i TV (as the secondary TV in my bedroom). My Sharp Aquos will replace it whenever one of the TVs I'm price watching drop below what I'm "willing" to pay.

Christ, I don't get how difficult it is for you to realize how it's the content of your posts that people constantly have issues with despite peaceful attempts by a few of us to point out why you draw negative reactions. You just refuse to take any responsibility. And now you blame the forum moderation for majority rule? Sounds like you just want to bash Microsoft because all the other sites allow it, whereas this forum actually tries to be more consistent and fair and you're upset because you can't have your fun.

The funny thing is I believe most of the "XBox fanboys" you're complaining about actually plan on buying PS4's or own PS3's. Fanboyism has little to do with the reactions you get.

I'm going to shell out $400 for a PS4, as well as a bunch of games at some point. But seriously, fuck the PS4. Fuck it hard. ;) That's what we all think, right?

TGS 2013: First Forza Motorsport 5 Japanese Preview from Tokyo Game Show Laments Severe Visual Degradation from E3 Build
http://www.dualshockers.com/2013/09/...om-e3-version/

Forza Motorsport 5 was exhibited at Tokyo Game Show, exposed to the Japanese press, and we know that the Japanese are big petrolheads. They love their car games. So I was quite interested in reading their previews of the game expecting high praise considering what I saw myself at Gamescom.

The first preview is now out, ran by the popular and quite respected website Game Watch and it’s very different from what I expected.

The writer, Seiji Nakamura, laments a severe visual downgrade from what he experienced at E3. The gist of the problem is that in the Forza 5 corner of the Microsoft booth things looked so bad that the monitors seemed badly adjusted. Aliasing and jaggies were standing out.

In the Forza 5 press room the situation was even worse, with the picture quality defined as “rough” like what you’d see if the output was 720p, with a definite visual degradation from the E3 version.

Nakamura-san continues by saying that the quality simply wasn’t the same as the original Forza 5, and the version he tried at Tokyo Game Show did not reach the level of the screenshots of the game at all. He actually asked a the Japanese product manager for the game bout the problem, and all he was told is that the folks at Microsoft are aware of the problem.

Before you think that Nakamura-san may be biased because he’s Japanese and Forza 5 is a Xbox One exclusive, moving past the graphical mishaps he actually gave quite high praise to the gameplay and the simulation quality.

The previous preview of the E3 build of the game on Game Watch, written by Nakamura-san himself, was also definitely glowing with praise. I’ll just tell you that its title was “The world’s ultimate racing game: Forza Motorsport 5″. That’s obviously not what someone biased against the game or the platform would write.

Yeah haha.

I have a slew of 55" - 60" LEDs (from LG, Panasonic, and Vizio) that I have being price watched on Amazon and Best Buy. I would like to spend no more than $900 before tax on.

I specifically want a TV capable of polarized 3D. That eliminates a lot of LED TVs on the market.
