Re: Bungie - Destiny
When I load up Destiny and check the roster page, I would say 75% of my online "friends" are people I met via LFG. I wish I was on the same gaming schedule as the daggers, but unfortunatly I'm usually long gone before anyone on this forum signs on. Don't get me wrong, there have been some bad experiences also, but for the most part I've played with some pretty good people on LFG. And like I said, when you have a good experience, you usually gain a few more friends out of it.

Regarding HoW, it will most likely be the same as TDB with a few changes. However, I have no doubt that the vendor gear will be better than the Crota gear just as it was in TDB. They have to level the playing field for new players. I'll put something up in there. |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
I just don't want to see anybody fall behind or feel left out because they can't get in a group with you guys, and I think Buzz needs to know that he can get it done without being "led" by anybody, no matter how skilled they think they are. The reality is that CE is legit easy.
And it's not so much luck with randoms as it is having good instincts for whether a team is going to get it done or not, and politely bowing out accordingly. I might look at it differently if I could match some of your schedules, but between living on the east coast and working pretty early, that's not really an option except on weekends. That, and I can only watch my sword carrier get killed by thralls for so many hours. ;) Edit, because I have to add: I met McRubick, Toshka and mmcareen on LFG back in the VoG days, and a bunch of you have played with them now. We were a well oiled machine back then, but much less so now, and that raid required much more coordination. And like meatpants, I've met plenty of other worthwhile folks on there, and they invite me to stuff pretty regularly when I'm actually in the game. |

Seriously...is something wrong with this picture...ughh...Release Window(s)....Might as well say between now and end of the year....
Destiny’s House Of Wolves Expansion Arrives Sometime Between April 1 And June 30 http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/a...d-june-30.aspx |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
I have what is probably a very basic question, but so many things in this game come without an explanation...
On the main navigation map, what do the red and blue progress circles represent around the Vanguard and Crucible options? I thought they were level, but they don't seem consistent with my progress bar when I speak to a faction person. Plus they reset each week. Is it a way to get bonus faction marks? |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
Those measure your progress towards reaching the max vanguard and crucible marks per week (100 each). And, the most marks you can have on a character are 200.
|
Re: Bungie - Destiny
Thanks. I knew there was a 200 cap that I've been managing; didn't realize what those were for or the weekly limit.
|
Re: Bungie - Destiny
Active Destiny players <a href="http://www.polygon.com/2015/2/9/8006373/destiny-hit-activision">average three hours of play per day</a>.
That's not surprising but it's also semi-meaningless as you are throwing out all the people who are no longer playing or just playing once a week. (If you play for three hours once a week, does that mean an average of three hours a day?) Anyway... I like the idea of signups. I would rather play with the group here than with an LFG group. |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
Thought this was a bit interesting...
Destiny “House of Wolves” Expansion Download File Available on Xbox Store, Level 42 Player Found http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/...-player-found/ Someone saw something a little out of the ordinary the other day in Destiny, and took to Reddit to talk about his find. While walking around The Tower, Reddit user AerobicPie73630 came across a level 42 Destiny player, and took a quick video to prove it. The player’s username is DestinyHelp02, which makes it seem like the user is probably a Bungie employee. Whether or not this sweet gear will ever be available to the public is unknown, but perhaps it has something to do with the “House of Wolves” expansion, which apparently the file of which can be downloaded — but not used — on the Xbox Store already. You'll have to look at the video of the player's build but it's as follows... Shadow Price Legendary Auto Rifle...365 max damage Ice Breaker Sniper....347 max damage Unfriendly Giant RL...365 max damage Hunter Armor Dust Walker Helm....469 Young Ahamkara's Spine Exotic Glove's...384 Prime Zealot Cuirass Chest...536 Prime Zealot Greaves...357 Now the Million $$$$ Dollar Question....what's going to happen to everything we've collected, upgraded and maxed out? |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
This week at Bungie, we’re prepping some features you’ll find in the next Destiny Update. We’ve been talking about 1.1.1 for a few weeks now. We promised a Heavy Ammo bug fix. We promised some weapon tuning. The promise of “before the end of February” is still one we’re aiming to keep. Word on the street is that things are looking good. We’ll keep you up to speed as we hone in on the exact date. eputation Gains “Dude, when I score a few more points with New Monarchy, I’m gonna score that badass Vanquisher I’ve had my eye on.” –Abraham Lincoln, 1862 Okay, we all know Lincoln never said that. With all that black gear, he was obviously a Dead Orbit man. What we do know to be true is that plenty of you have asked for an easier way to check your reputation standing with your friendly neighborhood Tower vendors. I had a chance to catch up with David Candland about that this week. If you’re unaware of his reputation, Candland, otherwise known as “Evil Otto,” is the Design Lead for the User Interface Team at Bungie. Here’s what he had to say about the shiny new stuff they've been working on: https://www.bungie.net/pubassets/357...tion_panel.gif Tell us about this new Reputation Panel. Looks like you all saved us a few steps. DC: We’ve created a way for you to see your faction reputations and weekly marks without having to run from vendor to vendor in the Tower. Now this information is never more than two clicks away! When did you make the call to drop this into our inventory screens? DC: We’re working on a lot of new features. This one is being included in 1.1.1 because it had a very low impact on our Test team. We’ve known we’ve wanted this feature since we donned our first piece of faction class gear, and the community has too. It was a no-brainer. We’ve seen the community come up with their own ideas for how this might have worked. What did you wrestle with in making it a reality in an existing game? DC: Where do you put it, and how much information do you include? Since reputation really affects your buying power, it made sense to put it in close proximity to your currencies. The inventory screen real estate is pretty full, so using the fly-out convention we established in the settings screen was a way to recoup some space, yet still allow tooltips for another layer of detail. Reputation is power! You haven’t heard the last from Evil Otto. Like he said, they’re working on some other ways to change the way you visualize your world in Destiny. Stay tuned. Love In The Air Reminder: Valentine’s Day is this Saturday. If you’re still at a loss for what you’ll do to let the love of your life know that you care, we suggest a fun-filled evening in Doubles Skirmish. It’s live in the Crucible right now. Just picture you and that special someone skipping through a live firefight together, laying all challengers to waste. Nothing says “I’ll love you forever,” more than bringing them back to life when they fall to enemy gunfire. You might even spend some quality time together sharing a freshly-popped crate of ammunition. The couple that slays together stays together. And, if you’re single, why not let Lord Shaxx be your matchmaker? Meet other singles in your area. Show them the true meaning of love. The Early Hawk Catches the Caterpillar? This community shares common ground in the Tower and on our forum. Ever watchful, the Destiny Operations Center is doing what they can to make sure that you can access both environments with success. Weekly Updates would be incomplete without an assurance from them that they’re hard at work to keep you connected. Bungie.net has undergone changes that will soon impact how you’ll log into your profile. This update means that linking your account should be easier. If you are experiencing any issues in linking your Bungie profile account, please let us know in the #BnetIssues forum. In the game, we have noticed an increase in CATERPILLAR and HAWK error codes. This pairing of errors is usually due to firewall settings on a router, which can block connectivity. You may need to contact your internet service provider to help you determine if this is the case. We have updated both error pages to reflect this information. Thank you for sounding off on the forum about how Destiny can work better for you. We’re listening and reacting to your reports, so keep them coming. Thanks for playing. Thanks for sharing. And thanks for waiting patiently for the next game update. We’re excited to tell you about what it holds in store for Strikes next week. Until then, stay close to your teammates this week. Don’t forget to pick up something nice for your SO. Tell ‘em Bungie says what’s up. |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
Well, considering that the Prime Zealot Greaves and cuirass are the Hunter gear from the Vault of Glass, perhaps this means that the upgrade options available for exotics now will be available to all legendary gear in the newest expansion?
Perhaps that ongoing "what use are these ascendant materials any longer" question will be answered, at last? |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
Being able to check faction rank from the menu is a nice change. Curious about the changes to the strike play list. Hope this means we will be getting some sorta voting system.

Re: Bungie - Destiny
OK Folks, get ready to break out those strange coins, because this is the week you've been waiting for!
That's what I said a month ago. Instead, here's this week's Xur Report brought to you by repetition. Repetition, it wouldn't be Destiny if the same things didn't happen over and over again. This week, Xur is located in the Tower Hangar, way down in the bowels. Here we go with the deals: http://oi62.tinypic.com/kdri0w.jpg For the Titan, it's the Helm Of Inmost Light. It's a lot of fun for Strikers. For the Hunter, it's the Crest Of Alpha Lupi Chest. Mah. Hunters are all about the helmets and Don't Touch Me. For the Warlock, It's the Light Beyond Nemesis Helmet. This is good for Warlocks who want to run Crota on hard. This helmet lets you pick up orbs for health. It's not a good as the Apotheosis Veil, but if you don't have that, this is a good second choice. No engram this week...boo. No heavy ammo this week...boo. The Weapon this week...for the third time...The Ice Breaker! Yes, it's back. For the 6 people who didn't buy one last month, here's your second chance. So now you can see what I meant by repetition. But it keeps going to the upgrade section! Upgrades: For the Hunter, it's the Knucklehead Radar Helmet and Crest Of Alpha Lupi Chest. Yes, the Alpha Lupi appears in both slots. And for once, it's actually a better roll for the upgrade. For the Titan, it's the Helm Of Inmost Light Helmet and Crest Of Alpha Lupi Chest. Again, we have a repeat of what Xur is selling and the upgrade. The upgrade again, is better. For the Warlock, it's the Apotheosis Veil helmet and Sunbreakers. Again, if you want to run the hard raid and haven't upgraded the veil yet, I'd suggest you do so. The Sunbreakers have a horrible roll. Weapons: The Last Word Ice Breaker (see, another repeat!) Patience & Time (see note below) Super Good Advice (My advice: just wait for the bounty) Gjallarhorn (I can't do my normal Xur salute this week...y'all know why) Truth So there we go. Lots of repeats this week, still no Voidfang Vestments in the upgrade pool, and people who just bought the game get another shot at owning one of the best guns. As for me, I was able to upgrade the last 300 level exotic I had, my original Patience & Time. I bought one when Xur sold it last time, and left my original maxed out. I wanted to compare the two and discovered that the upgrade does make a major difference. So now I am likely done with the upgrade process (until House Of Wolves of course). |

Re: Bungie - Destiny
Only one thing for me on that list...the Warlock Helmet Light Beyond Nemesis. I had the old version and broke it down weeks ago.
And wouldn't know it...Ice Breaker...which I landed my 4th the other night when we ran two Crota Runs. ....and No Engram and No Heavy Ammo...this is getting really sad.... |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
Kinda dissappointed with Xur this week. Picked up a 3rd Icebreaker(YAYYYY!) and some shards (yay). I own better versions of all the armor he was selling though a couple of them are pretty good rolls. (especially the Light Beyond Nemesis). No engrams? Boo! No Heavy Weapon Synth? BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! GFY!!!!

Good For You. Glad to you hear you are dripping in riches. :D But it really is a good roll. I am in the process of leveling up what is the highest roll LBN helmet I have come across to replace my current one and the one for sale is only a couple of points less |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
don't know how legit this is but someone posted a vid of IB being temporarily open a couple days ago
http://youtu.be/LxuAtySsMtw looks like the goods, if they stand are level 36 gauntlets and leg armor as well as the shotgun and scout for weapons someone also is of the belief (based on last IB according to him) that you can maintain your level from last IB if you arrive right after the reset without signing out .... I may possibly test it for the weapons if I'm awake at the reset tonight and I have the glimmer do I need them, no ... but it is good to have weapons you can re-roll perks on |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
^ looks like this doesn't work as it is giving a "requirements not met" message to those going to the tower at the reset without logging off
Oh well, at least I have max glimmer EDIT: well there was a workaround .... just had to join on someone in the tower to get past being locked out .... thanks to Scott for being that man in the tower my rank showed as 5 (where I finished last time) and was able to grab the shotgun and scout ... oh, and now I have about no glimmer (back to Mars again later for an extended trip) |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
What quests do I need to finish in order to participate in weekly heroic and nightfall? It just says requires Eris ... Vague as usual.
