I'm going with 40+ for each character. And really, I could probably do more than that. That's being conservative with the coins I have and the lack of items I could even buy. I mean, honestly, here's about all I'd buy at this point from Xur:

2 Gjallarhorns
Praxic Fire (If Engrams aren't lucky for me)
Arachnid Helmet
4th Horseman (can't sell it)
Maybe I'd consider another Red Death or MIDA, but probably not.

EDIT: OK, I bought 3 more engrams:

Lucky Raspberry (3 in a row! WTF? But it does have an ungodly 170 Intellect max, never seen that much on one piece of armor)
Crest Of Alpha Lupi (Hunter version)
And...wait for it...

HEART OF THE PRAXIC FIRE!!!!!!!!!! It cost me 138 Motes Of Light to get this and 5 Exotic Shards. I'm fine with that trade.

Scott, how many coins will you have left?

Also, I wonder how many Scrooge McDuck is going to buy? ;)

I have 40 synths on my Titan and Warlock and 42 now on my Hunter. I still have 160 coins.

Basically, I spent 19 coins so far, and bought 95 packs.

grats on the praxic! i know you really wanted that one to complete your collection.

so, you are getting a total of 40 synth on each char or spending 40 coins on synth (200 synth total) for each char?

Space starts to become an issue, since you can only store 20 synth per space on your character. Between all those consumables, and telemetries, my space is limited.

I have 40 synth packs on each character, with 2 extra on the Hunter. I might fill up one more space on each, meaning I'd go to 60 for each.

It's sad that I'm more limited by space than I am the ability to buy them!

Oh, and BTW: Sunsetting and Praxic Fire look awesome together!

devil's avocate on the synth (though I will be purchasing in qty)

- heavy ammo bug fix said to be implemented before end of month

- how many times are we using synth outside of Crota hard mode and how much do we plan on running that going forward? even in 2 VoG hard runs last night I don't think I had to pop a single synth

congrats Scott and chess on the Praxic .... hope to join the club later today but am not counting on it

I've thought of that too. I think for me it comes down to what else will those coins be used on? I might be more inclined to use my Heavy if I had more ammo for it (not that I *need* an excuse to use a Gjallarhorn).

I did pop a few synths last night in the VOG, since I go in for the gatekeeper. But yeah, the only time we really use it is when the game is having a shit fit.

That being said, I'd rather have too much synth than too little. And for those of us with way too many coins, it's an excuse to spend.

I mean that, or you could get another No Land Beyond!

Thanks.

And with that, I'm pretty much tapped for stuff I want. Will still look for that third Hunger and take duplicate exotics as they come on the rare occasions that I play.

And there's almost nothing Xur could sell me at this point.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

I popped two synths last night, one for templar and the other for when I went in to the portals with scott. definitely still a need to have synth on hand even with the fix. and with the impending fix, i can finally shard my no land beyond. :D was only using it for the heavy ammo glitch in crota.

It's about time tentacle face carried heavy ammo again. I am with IceRat, in that I didn't have to really use much the past few raids (being in the sword rotation helps with the Crota's End runs, of course). If he was solely carrying heavy packs, that would be fine from now on, so long as I don't have to worry about farming for damn glimmer so much.

Thank you, Bungie, for heavy ammo "randomly" showing up in his inventory. I intend to see if I can get a Heart of the Praxic Fire via some engrams, too.

Also, Daggers, thanks for helping with the other David on his first hard mode Vault run last night. That bastard, his awesome RNG fortune continued. First hard mode run, he got a Vex Mythoclast. Ridiculous.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

I will probably get a few packs. I always like to have a base of about 20 on my character. Guess it's not hard to make that be a base of 30 or 40.

The only thing he can sell I would want to buy is Gjallarhorn.

Decided to grind Iron Banner today, got from lvl 1.5 to 4, think ill wait till tomorrow to finish so the buff increases. Got lucky and Radegast Fury dropped for me. Rerolled it a few times till I got what I think is a great roll. Arc with Tracking, Perfect Balance/Heavy Payload/Field Scout, and 3rd eye. Now I have a tracking of each element. Bought the boots as well, debating on if I want the arms. At this point not much else to spend the glimmer on.

Popped in this morning to see Xur and I was overjoyed to see Heavy Ammo Synth. I picked up 40 per character and might pickup another 40 to keep in the vault.
And seriously - if you run Raids why the fuck are you not spending the coinage for this? For Real. No room - Well make room You are never using those 6 Shotguns nor all 5 of those Pulse Rifles.
I also picked up 3 engrams. I got the Crest of Alpha Lupi (for the Hunter - Which I had drop a couple of days ago) Voidfang Vestments (Which I also own a good roll of) and The Armamentarium ( good roll - 162 - but it is hard to beat my 166 Strength ones). So i bought exotic shards esentially.

Might go for another engram and I am thinking about the Voidfang Vestments - for a better roll than what I have already. If anyone is interested I need 1 more Heroic Weekly.

with the heavy ammo synth I'm now more inclined to do the weekly heroic which I haven't done yet with any of my 3 (no urgency)

See Post #4203. What's a matter? Not enough coins to swim in now? ;)

LOL .... all I know is I have over 300 before any purchases this week
Weeklies are easy enough to knock out to keep the stockpile up
not a priority to do but I'll do them if there is time

Bah! It's not the weapons that take the space (that's a separate space issue!), it's all my extra shaders in my vault. I think I have 10 shaders in there, plus all my characters are full with shaders. Maybe I need to cull my collection a bit there.

Anyhoo, 40-60 per character should be enough.

Either Bunjie gives us more space or people stop storing 800 spinmetal in the vault or discard those 7 chatterwhites.

Just finished grinding IB to rank 3 (need level 36 gauntlets), so far that has been the most frustrating thing I ever done in the game. I had no enjoyment doing that at all.

Finally done with Iron Banner. Got level 5 and the scout rifle, worst 20 or so hours I have put into this game. I would rather run the omnigul nf with no burn over and over and over again then have to play this pvp crap again. Its beyond frustrating, from the lag to being one shotted from across the map with a fusion rifle from some one 5 levels lower then you to the range on those god damn hand cannons. This weapons patch can not get here soon enough.

I've had the Spinmetal 850+ problem for longer than I can remember. I'm surprised more here are not bringing the "Space in their vault" issue more considering seeing everyone running Crota, NF's Crucibles and VoG runs getting more stuff. I said awhile back that the overall Loot System in this game is broken and that Bungie more or less keeps "expanding the top of the funnel while the bottom stays the same". Why keep running and getting stuff you're forced to decide to keep or trash because lack of space....be it resources, shaders, armor or weapons. Some of which you have no choice to sell or breakdown.

Now comes the fun part of iron banner. Actually trying to lose. Going to grab those 5 medallions for next time the event comes around. Unless I manage to log on before the reset and grabbing what I want

Because most of your stuff is trash.

I use probably 6-8 weapons ever, and there's always only one viable set of armor.
