Re: Bungie - Destiny
Bungie can do whatever with The House of Wolves...add a new faction, a Level 32 Nightfall, a new twist in the story, new maps and new gear all they want. But if they don't tackle the base and core of the game...The Loot System...we're all still at square one collecting stuff we don't need, cannot use, cannot sell, cannot trade or upgrade.

Destiny House Of Wolves DLC Leak! All Warlock Vendor Gear!: http://youtu.be/BsGN2CFVZAo
Interesting little video |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
Tolerated a tiny bit of Crotering yesterday, and it was fairly productive despite being in some so-so random groups.
-Warlock Helmet...last missing armor bit (has half strength, but not a bad roll) -Warlock Chest with better roll -Word of Crota (not impressed, fine with one) -Third Hard Raid Ship So I officially have almost everything I want from Crota's End other than maybe Hunger of Crota for every character, so I think I might do all of my Crota runs going forward on normal to see if I can get a few more of those. Fuck Bungie (again) for not making the normal and hard drops stack like they did on VOG. |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
So, does this week's two updates from Bungie (I am using my phone, so I will let others post the links) confirm that Red Death will be for sale? Pulse rifles, allegedly getting buffed!

Re: Bungie - Destiny
Pulse rifles are ridiculous in crucible.

Re: Bungie - Destiny
The update will be a downgrade.....
Destiny's weapons are changing this month, here's how and why http://www.polygon.com/2015/2/5/7988...-february-2015 Weisnewski breaks the changes down by weapon category. In general: ◾Auto rifles, which are designed for close to medium range combat, will see their base damage reduced by 2.5 percent, in addition to a reduction in effective range. ◾Pulse rifles, Destiny's least-used weapon class, will see their base damage per second raised 8.7 percent. ◾Hand cannons, Bungie's euphemism for pistols, are designed for medium range, and will lose some effective range and initial accuracy. ◾Fusion rifles, which are designed for mid-range combat, will see a "little wider" blast radius while their starting ammunition is reduced. Heavy machine guns, rocket launchers, scout rifles and sniper rifles are largely immune from update 1.1.1's tweaks, though Weisnewski admits that "changes to the Destiny arsenal mean that untouched weapons may now seem different in side by side comparisons. You may discover new reasons to start using some of these weapons as part of your combat strategy." |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
the only pulse I will consider with the buff is Bad Juju paired with Obsidian Mind (and I guess Red Death for the start of the Crota battle)
other news is HoW not till Q2 I'm sure they will have to fill the void with Queen's Wrath/Iron Banner type events ... or they can just have Xur randomly sell Jiggyhorn when log-ins die off |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
They must have been suspicious that somebody might be having some fun with a gun or two.

Re: Bungie - Destiny
OK, so here we go with this week's Xur Report, brought to you by Crap. Crap, it's what's for sale!
Obviously I'm not even trying to mask things here or hold suspense: This week's group stinks to high hell. Well, there are some good rolls in the bunch, but for the most part, it's more of the same stinkies. Xur is located in the Hangar, just right of the stairs. Here's the "deals": http://oi58.tinypic.com/14jolg2.jpg For the Titan, it's the Glasshouse Helmet. It's a really great roll at least, maxing at 127 Intellect. I may buy this for a large bump over what I already have. For the Hunter, it's the Don't Touch Me Gloves...again. These are far better than what was offered last week, but again, they were offered last week. For the Warlock, it's our old friend Sunbreakers. He hasn't sold them for a while, And the roll is decent. The engram is for gloves...again. Will the chest engram ever make a comeback? The weapon this week is the Plan C Fusion Rifle. Third time it's been offered, but outside of Crucible it's pretty useless. Stick with your Murmur or Light Of The Abyss. No Heavy Ammo Synth this week. Upgrades: For the Hunter, it's the Symbiote Helmet (with a good roll) and the Crest Of Alpha Lupi Chest (also a good roll). For the Titan, it's the No Backup Plans Gauntlets (terrible roll), and An Insurmountable Skullfort Helmet (OK roll) For the Warlock, it's the Skull Of Dire Ahamkara (crappy roll) and Light Beyond Nemesis Helmets (crappy roll) Weapons: Hard Light SUROS Regime MIDA Multi-Tool Thorn Ice Breaker Super Good Advice And that's that. |

I know I have tried using shotguns in story mode, and they really do suck. But the problem isn't damage related since they already one-shot kill everything in the game, the problem is that they all only have 4-6 rounds and they take forever to reload. They work in PVP because there's only 6 people on the other team and for the most part you have a lot of 1 on 1 engagements. In PVE, you are generally facing swarms of enemies. Only having 4-6 rounds with excruciating reload times in between is not going to get the job done. I'll try them again after this patch, but I can't imagine them doing more damage is really going to alter their overall effectiveness. |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
Oh, hey, might upgrade my MIDA. Just have to farm glimmer...groan.

Re: Bungie - Destiny
This makes week four...or is five...that Xur useless as the Craptarch. I have bought maybe one thing in the past four weeks and this weeks offerings are about as good as what I've been getting in Nightfall.
Already have Glasshouse, Don't touch Me gloves which are great, don't need the Warlock and already have 7-8 Fusion Rifles including a Plan C which does have a few better qualities than the Murmur. But once again zero, zada, nada on the Motes of Light and curses on no Heavy Ammo packs. |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
Six of one, half a dozen of the other for me. Picked up the Glasshouse since when it was offered I spent my coins on a pair of Icebreakers. Glad to hear it is a good roll. I also got the Sunbreeakers since when this was being sold I either did not have a Warlock or did not place a priority on these. Once again glad to hear it is a good roll on them also. I already have Plan C (I think it is good since it charges fairly quickly). I already have the Show Me Where You Were Touched On The Doll gloves (and have a pretty good roll). Would've preferred a rarer weapon to splodes nicely. Fuck Xr for leaving Heavy ammo synth at home. Are they ever gonna offer up heavy ammo synth again?
|
Re: Bungie - Destiny
Yeah Buzz. I barely play this game, and I still have nothing of any value to do.
Weeklies: This week's Xur offerings are exactly why I stopped doing weeklies. No use for the coins, and they keep piling up. Nightfalls: I only did two Nightfalls last week, and I've only done one this week. Just not worth the effort for another shitty purple gun IMO. But this week's is pretty easy, so I may go ahead and knock it out. Raids: Literally the only thing I want from Crota is a couple more Hunger of Crotas, so I may be normal raiding for the foreseeable future, and maybe just Crota himself. From the hard raid, I have 3 auto rifles, 3 fusion rifles, 2 hand cannons, 2 scout rifles and 2 ships, so I'm pretty good there. I genuinely feel sorry for people who feel like they have to collect every exotic and level that shit up. Might be time for an intervention. |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
Still not a single Raid Run for me this week....just not quick enough to catch a Crota Bus. Biggest regret though not being there in person to see The Historic Gooter Jump on the VoG. I might have actually paid to see that....
Don't know...for those just starting out or a new character the game really benefits them great all over with nothing to lose. For everyone else....????????? |

Your ability to jump in a raid certainly doesn't hinge on anybody here, despite what folks seem to think. I like hanging out with these guys too, but as a practical matter, my LFG runs have been FAR smoother. Just list yourself on LFG as a 32 with a G-horn, and you'll get an invite in minutes and get it done. Simple as that. Tonight, if you want, the two of us can jump into Crota, and I'll get you trained up on the roles the different classes are generally expected to play. You'll never die, and you'll always do your job, and I'm not sure what else could reasonably be expected. |

and Plan C was clearly the weapon since it dropped again for me last night in the vault we can now conclude that me being up for the arrival does not negatively effect his inventory time for you to go to sleep early next week :p |

I play to play with you chumps, to get to know you better, to get that feeling of accomplishment when we do finally manage to achieve a goal (our VoG runs are pretty efficient now), and to partake in the general douche-baggery that inevitably occurs. |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
Wasn't my point. Have fun.
Buzz literally isn't getting the raids done. |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
I much rather play with friends here but have played with randoms as well...it's just not the same though. Just hard though between the time zones and everyone shooting for a spot trying to get in VoG Hard, Crota Normal and Crota Hard with 2-3 characters each...that's a lot of running with what I perceive limited spots. And for those who do the leading that's a lot of running....
...but seriously...what will all this mean with the next big DLC & Update. Will all this time spent gathering parts & guns be one step closer or will all this Crota stuff gathered suffer the same fate as all the VoG stuff....except of course the Fatebringer and Vex but will they even be useful by then? |
Re: Bungie - Destiny
Regarding raids, does it make sense to start a sign-up sheet again? Pick a couple of nights a week to have set Dagger raid runs. The rest of the week is do what you want.
Regarding HoW, it will most likely be the same as TDB with a few changes. However, I have no doubt that the vendor gear will be better than the Crota gear just as it was in TDB. They have to level the playing field for new players. |

For me, it is just more fun to run the raids with the guys here rather than a bunch of randoms. Sure I would like to get a Fatebringer or whatever, but the truth is I have enough weapons at this point on each of my three characters and all of my characters are 32 so I don't NEED to run the raids for gear. I do it because of the camaraderie.
Chess wants to minimize his Destiny time as much as possible, so his business-like approach to just going and getting it done works...for him. But having played with randoms in the past, I can say he's been rather lucky in the groups he's encountered. More power to him for that. I've kind of gone in the other direction with this game since day 1, building up a large group of people to play with, to minimize the number of randoms I come across. That being said, the most fun I have playing this game is with the Daggers. The VOG runs last night were awesome, and when I say the highlight of it was Gooter making the jump, I meant it sincerely. And that great moment only comes after playing with a guy for months, and seeing him go from the guy who had to quit out after 10 attempts due to frustration, to landing down with the rest of us on the first try. Can't get that with randoms. Or like you sooner, a guy who genuinely feels like he's letting the rest of us down when it's 1AM and you need to get to bed. But as I say time and again...never feel bad for leaving a game. |
