I'll probably jump on tonight to get that Warlock helmet.

Might need to run the weeklies with my two characters to get enough Strange Coins to get that and another Ice Breaker.

Picked up an ice breaker. Man that gun is sweet and I haven't even upgraded it yet.

Only down side is I can't use my legendary machine gun too.

I got it also, my first. I'm in love

Congrats to those who got the Ice Breaker(s)...I picked up two myself to make sure each of my three characters has one. I'd actually like to land another or two of the Hunger of Crota rocket launchers so to keep the IB in the slot to use.

I just finished watching a guy on the PS4 stream/Twitch (his PSN was Josh757) that just got Flawless Raider on Crota completely solo.
:jawdrop:

It only took him about 25 minutes. Pretty awesome stuff.

How high a level do you need to be to solo any of VOG? Can you enter to just take down guys and try to get some good drops? How about a realistic 4 person run?

The VOG wasn't really built to be done solo. Honestly, about the only thing you could realistically do solo is getting the first chest by breaking into the vault. But all that chest has is shards and energy, so it's not much of a prize.

4 people however, could complete the VOG on normal as long as it's a solid foursome that knows what they are doing, and have the proper weapons.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

Sorry we couldn't finish the last part of the VOG (hard) last night...early, early morning but sad to say I had to get up and go to work. But I was beginning to get that feeling we were stumbling a bit and wasn't going to make it with it getting real late so maybe we can shoot for tonight ...hopefully I can make it but no big deal.

The first run paid off in a way with somewhat relief to my Hunter who has been almost shutout from the VOG with everything. Not this time though a bit late but still a haul....

(1) - Praedeth's Revenge...my 5th
(1) - Prime Zealot Gloves...my 1st
(2) - Prime Zealot Helm...yes it shows (2) and have no idea....
(1) - Vex Mythoclast...gladly take it any day!

On the second hard run my Warlock got...
(1)...Praedyth Revenge...again and number 6th
(1)...Cuirass of Henzen Lords Chest which is my 2nd.

...and see what the last part brings providing I'm still awake tonight...

Yup. 4 people minimum required for the final Atheon because he teleports 3 and you need at least one to stay back and open portals, otherwise everyone gets "lost in time" and it wipes you. You can fool it by having a warlock kill himself and then revive just as everyone gets teleported, but it makes the last section unnecessarily more complicated.

With 3 competent players, you can do everything up until Atheon without too much trouble (on normal difficulty).

If you wanted to solo any part of the VoG, I'd say your best bet would be the Templar section. Ive seen quite a few people streaming that part solo.

I would like to get Atheon knocked out tonight, but not sure I will be able to stay up that late tonight. Working on 1-2 hours of sleep. I will probably be a repeat of Cruz and slider if we tried for another late night run. If anything, at least I have an atheon checkpoint on one of my characters now. Hopefully I can get three runs at Atheon next week if we don't get it done tonight. Plus I got some good experience on parts of VoG that I haven't done before, and got more relic practice, which is always a good thing.

I'm up but it needs to be around 9PM Central or sooner if all possible. I hated we had to bail but it was 3am for me! Sometimes it's best to retreat & regroup and maybe being a little fresh and already knocking out the first 3/4 we can make it.

I'm 40 which is why I miss out on everything. If I was up untill 3am I'd need two days to recover.

Exactly! I'm 40 too (not an old geezer like Musick ;)) and if I want to game, I have to stay up late or get up early as my real world stuff gets busy real fast.

Don't even get me started....sounds like my daughter who just had a birthday talking about feeling "old"....like 34 years old...which I laughed at. But granted she is7 months pregnant, working as a Nurse on the 2nd shift doing three 11-12 hrs shifts a week all the while taking care of her 7.5 old son, a house and husband.

You can be as old as you want...9 to 90 with video games...but 2-3am will take a toll no matter how old you are.

Another entry from the "why do I bother?" file. 3 Crota runs. All very smooth with the zero dark thirty crew. Mostly shards/energy, including a couple of poorly rolled armor bits that are already sharded.

I did get a few nice bits though:
  • Helmets for both Titan and Hunter, which will allow me to run Don't Touch Me and Ruin Wings
  • Hunger of Crota
  • Fourth Horseman (or something like that) exotic shotgun

Finally pulled the trigger on pushing my Warlock to 32 despite a strength roll on her chest and will probably level my Titan to 32 in the next couple of days in prep for a hard raid this weekend. The Hunter is 32-capable, but I may not get to it this week, because I mostly can't be bothered to play the game.

Actually, I might see if I can catch a few Nightfalls tonight. Otherwise, back to a better sci-fi loot game. ;)

Yea...I've got the same with my Warlock allowing to use the Don't Touch Me Gauntlets which I really like
Hunger of Crota = Gjallarhorn Jr. which is actually a good thing freeing up an Exotic slot...I like mine and wish I had two more.
Better Sci-Fi Loot...no argument there not to mention the whole commerce & trade part.

Yessir! I've made ~1000 platinum in the last week or so on the new Syndicate weapons, and I'm always hooking new clan members up with "mod starter packs" from my stash.

In Destiny, it would be like being able to sell Jellyhorns and Ice Breakers for in-game currency in an in-game chat system. Or like being able to give spare guns to friends.

I want to live in a world where I can trade one of my five Black Hammers for a second and third Hunger of Crota!

I'm weeding through my inventory/vault trying to delete weapons I'll never use to free up space. Don't want to delete something that has a good perk. So, what weapon perks are considered the best? What are some good combos to have?

Thanks

Re: Bungie - Destiny

My rule of thumb: If it's purple and not from a raid (or otherwise unique like Murmer or Husk), it gets energied. I'm sure there are exceptions, but I can't be bothered.

Had three quick nightfall runs with Buzz and his friend Kanjji last night. Got two things, and the first was Jack.

Finally invested the shards in a 32 Warlock, and my Titan will get there this week as well. I'm not sure about my hunter though. Her Crota gear has pretty lame rolls, but I at least have a helmet for her now, which will allow me to use Don't Touch Me gloves, so I might be content with her at 31 for the time being. Pretty sure I have enough shards for all three despite not bothering to level Eris up.

Keeping up with most of you despite an absolute minimum amount of time in the game. Probably not more than 5 hours per week.

I'd say if you've been holding it (300 max attack) and it is a non raid legendary and haven't been using it ... shard it

now if I could only follow my own advice ;)

I have been deleting some stuff but not at a great enough pace ... I still have stuff I don't even remove from the Postmaster until I can free up vault space

I'll likely get to it this weekend and will probably start with weapons that fit the criteria I listed above starting with legendary pulse rifles and shotguns which I hardly ever touch

took Scott and I forever to get a weekly started last night as we both were playing free up an open square between our characters and the vault

So, we're moments away from the first hard mode Crota's End runs beginning. What will be the new, artificial difficulty enhancements? More weight of darkness? Perhaps a chalice that despawns after being passed around a certain amount (and may or may not be able to be collected again from its spawn point)?

I'm watching a live feed on IGN.

They just passed the lamps, and confirmed that the hard raid weapons drop. I think 3 people in the group got the Oversoul Edict, which is the Arc Pulse Rifle that does full Auto.

Abyss Defiant drops from the Bridge. That's the Solar Auto Rifle that can disorient Wizards.

They didn't get a drop from the Deathsinger. Hmmmm.

First major difference in hard mode: No Chalice in Crota fight. Oh boy. Crota also has a Wizard defending him. Double Oh boy. Gatekeepers too! Holy Shit! Crota on hard is no joke.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

x20 weight of darkness?

I assume they are running all 32's
how much harder did the lamps look? ... extra knights?

EDIT: just read weight is still x10 but just increases faster
