Vanguard Marks + Vanguard Commendations + Ascendent Shards = Armor that will immediately get you to 31 when combined with 1 piece of exotic armor

You get all of the above directly or indirectly from doing public events, bounties, dailies and eventually weeklies.

Technically, yes, but that's not exactly what I meant. I meant that you'd be likely be stuck with blue armor! :lol:

Run a bunch of strikes, and you might get a piece of legendary armor, and it might actually be for the class you are playing if RNGesus approves.

Follow the method Gooter and I (and others) suggest, and you are guaranteed a full set of legendary armor that will get you to 31 very quickly.

Fairly suscessful day so far. 3 exotics, mida multi tool, plan c and last word. Only issue is they are all dups. Still no hawk moon, Monte Carlo, or universal remote. Finally able to complete the bad juju bounty. Still need one more crota run.

My 3 nightfalls today consisted of:
1. The Devil You Don't
2. The Devil You Don't (I mean seriously... what are the odds?)
3. LDR 5001 (a legendary solar sniper rifle)

So basically 6 ascendant energy. I honestly don't know why I bother with the nightfall anymore. I've ran it 3 times a week for the past 14 weeks... in 42 nightfalls, I've gotten a grand total of TWO exotics.

In other news, I was able to solo the Crota bridge section post-patch. It does require a little bit of badass-ness. :lol: All you have to do is stand on the middle section to make the bridge form, the screen will flash red just before the annihilator totems are about to kill you, then you immediately step off the trigger to avoid death. Then just step back on it before the bridge starts to deconstruct and it will continue to form. Repeat this process 3 times and the bridge will be fully constructed. Also, while you're building the bridge you need to be killing the swordbearer. If you time this right, you can kill the swordbearer just as the bridge is formed, pick up the sword, cross the bridge, and start killing bitches on the other side. It sounds harder than it actually is. It only took me 3 attempts. And I actually made it across all 3 times, but I died twice once I got to the other side because I was being stupid. I managed to do all this with my Hunter (so I had to run the entire lamp section legit).

I'm going to try it with my other two characters to make sure all 3 classes can at least solo the first two rewards like before. :D

I swear, hearing you guys, I want to scream.

Well over 100 hours in this game with three characters and don't have a G-horn, Icebreaker or Fatebringer. I honestly don't think I have ever seen any of these even drop except for the first Icebreaker that dropped after Atheon for a guy on a hard VOG run I was doing last week with an LFG group.

I have some nice stuff for sure...couple of Hunger of Crotas and Black Hammers, 3 patience and times and 3 VOCs. But those three items continue to avoid me.

Will be on tonight around 9 central if chase and musick want to run our tues evening nightfalls. Gotta get back in the post holiday groove.

Seconded. I only do Strikes when I want to hang out with a friend and do something goal-based that is not very difficult.

And there's no reason to be 32 (aside from doing the Hard raid), as the climb from 31 to 32 takes waaay to long.

I read the gauntlets you can get at level 4 are light 36
this is good as they can be upgraded with ascendant shards instead of radiant shards

do we know what the rolls are on these?
if these can replace some of my overspec'd intellect armor I might be interested

Agreed.

I'm taking a patient approach from 31 to 32, because I'm incredibly skeptical about Bungie's plans for future level cap increases and new armor. I'm not going to have the same situation where I've invested resources in my raid armor just to have the rug pulled out from under me. And I'm certainly not going to use my radiant shards until I hear that they're using some other new shard for the next armor upgrades.

Basically, all I'm doing in Destiny every week is the Crota raid and 3 Nightfalls, which is giving me raid armor, and organically knocking out a few bounties along with some XP from the Nightfalls.

We'll see what happens when the hard raid drops, but my intention is to have 3 pieces of 32 raid gear for every character fully XP leveled and just waiting for shards. I already have the gear and quite a few shards, but I'm holding out for better stat rolls on one piece for my Warlock and two for my Hunter.

Ran a bunch of bounties this afternoon to level up some weapons. Finally had a Husk rifle drop for me, maxed out my MIDA, and I was also able to get my Warlock to 30. As soon as I get a commendation I can get her out of her rare chest armor and be at level 31.
I'm really loving the Another NITC scout rifle. The range on it is absolutely ridiculous.

I think you can even get drops of it with Outlaw and Firefly so it is almost like a Scout version of Fatebringer

also working on leveling up my MIDA .... HC and Scouts are my fave weapons

I have returned home, fellow Daggers, and am hoping to get in on some Crota's End runs, as well as any Vault of Glass runs (hard or normal) going. The only day that I won't be available is Thursday.

I should be on between 7-8 est. Probably wouldn't be able to do a VOG hard run since I really need to be off by 12 at the latest. I would be up for a normal or Crota run. Still need to get all the NF and weekly strikes done as well.
