Which then you break down that "Trash' and get what....another type of Trash...Ascendant Shards that you can use for the Armor you just trashed or the Energy for that Purple Gun you don't need, already have 2-4 of or what which in turns gets trashed for even more Energy.....

No argument here Buzz.

The loot system and progression system in this game is complete garbage...especially compared to another game we both play.

Still, I played a bit of Destiny yesterday. Did my third NF before the reset with some good dudes off LFG and got an exotic helm for my Hunter (Arachnid), which doesn't look great, but it's still better than the purple guns I got on both other characters.

Will probably run my 3 normal raids either tonight or tomorrow to see if I can get a third Hunger of Crota, and I might just kill Crota on hard a few times this week. Still need one each of the Word and Fang.

Still not falling behind...and am barely playing at all. :)

Say what you will about the progression system and way drops happen I do have to say the actual gameplay of the shooting part was really good in Destiny. And that is what frustrated me so much. The gameplay was done very well... I just felt like I was going nowhere with it and ended up dropping the game.

Had the multiplayer been better though I would have forgiven huge amounts of other things (as can be seen by the fact I still play CoD).

No disagreement here either. I enjoy the gameplay and the settings quite a bit...with the notable exception of bullet sponge enemies that you spend all of your time cowering from. But otherwise, it's a phenomenally fun game to run around in and shoot stuff.

But those progression and loot systems just suck the fun out of everything.

xmiyux 02-24-15 01:18 PM

Re: Bungie - Destiny

The bullet sponges are frustrating especially since they didn't at least have the old school vibe of multiple stages (eg. kill health bar to crack carapace, kill new health bar to kill boss, oh no he has a third form!). That would at least have been less frustrating than shooting around a giant shield on a semi-stationary rotating robot for 10 minutes interspersed with shooting robots beaming in.

And the thing is, even while being frustrated by it I still ran the event and enjoyed the shooting.

I really hope Destiny 2 learns from these mistakes.

I actually think Destiny 1 is easily fixable and should be fixed. These aren't so much technical problems as they are philosophical problems.

Is this the heavy ammo fix?

I'm confused. I thought what I quoted was different from the heavy ammo bug that reduced your ammo every time you die and sometimes when you swap weapons. Is heavy ammo truly fixed now?

I'm intriqued about this one .....
Full Auto: Fixed issues in which the weapon perk stopped working while the trigger was being held down

I assume it may be in regards to the VOC which I don't ever recall them acknowledging the issue with

Pulse Rifles

Increased base damage of Pulse Rifles by 9.7%

Warlock Void Walker + Obsidian Mind + Bad Juju = Endless Supers

Re: Bungie - Destiny

Nice to see they finally fixed the full auto bug. Same with the ammo synth bug.

That sucks that you can't pickup heavy ammo from people you kill in PVP anymore. I thought that was good risk/reward mechanic.

And hopefully with all those Grimoire fixes, I'll have all the cards now...except for Fate Of All Fools and 4th Horseman.

EDIT: HOLY SHIT! My Grimoire score went up 90 points! 2855 now.

EDIT 2: Make that an even 100! Just got the House Of Wolves card and 10 points. Still missing Mercury card.

That's kind of hysterical.

Guardians no longer drop heavy ammunition when killed in PvP ?? so you now respawn with heavy if you die in PvP??

Iron Banner playlist now contains smaller maps in rotation I thought we would see more maps, what does it mean by smaller maps in rotation?

Ammunition consumables will now work if used when player inventory is full good fix

seems like a pretty meaty update with some good changes but some I'm still confused about

Re: Bungie - Destiny

The Mythoclast bug is hilarious. Clearly they didn't think that one through before implementation. I am more convinced each and every patch that the entirety of the Halo teams must have left for 343, because these guys keep breaking things due to PvP (not that 343 didn't job the Master Chief Collection out).

ok good. also, can we swap heavy weapons now without fear of losing ammo? (ex. start with IB and purple heavy equipped then swap to purple special and gjall = don't lose heavy ammo?)

I take the first one to mean that you will still lose the heavy when you die, but your killer won't be able to pick it up.

I believe the smaller maps are referring to the Skirmish/Rumble maps Asylum, Anomaly, and Burning Shrine...and possibly Exodus Blue being added to IB. At least I hope that's what they mean.

I think the losing ammo when switching weapons is by design, since it also happens with special weapons. It's not tied to the other heavy ammo bug.

ok, maybe I misunderstood this
I guess it means if you die you will not drop heavy ammo for others (including yourself) to be able to pickup .... not that you will respawn after death with any heavy ammo you had on you when you were killed

that is better (than what I thought it meant)

yep, was just typing that as you answered

EDIT: good on the additonal (but smaller) maps in rotation if that is what I means as you said

some of the wording they use just leaves things too open interpretation

LOL .... after all the hours of playing and I didn't even know about the Shoot To Loot perk (or maybe I did know but forgot it existed)
I guess it is only on rare or uncommon weapons though

That's because it has to be Clash or Control.

It showed up for me a few weeks ago, just not on the screen. I have it on the Bungie website, but it never popped in game.

Is it just me, or is it next to impossible to get the Mercury map to show up in PVP?

Been playing Rumble and Skirmish, and can't get it. Ugh. I just want to see if the Mercury grimoire card would finally pop.

EDIT: Finally played on Mercury, and still didn't get the Grimoire card. One card still glitched.
