Re: Bungie - Destiny
I know at one time that the idea for Destiny was that they would release future expansion packs that were called Comet packs. And that these Comet packs would bridge the gap in the years when full games aren't released. This would seem to be part of that plan.
The only question would be how would the pricing work? Will Comet itself cost $30? And then Expansion Pass 2 another $35? Can they get another $65 out of this? Maybe $60 for all of it? Honestly that wouldn't be so horrible, as long as you only had to pay another $60 for everything...AT MOST.
It does look like this roadmap was done before Destiny was released. At the very least, The Dark Below looks like it has a release date of December 2nd in it, when it actually came out on the 9th.
I'd also seen previous info about a supposed Hive Ship Raid, to the point where people thought Crota's End took place at least in part, on a hive ship. So if we take this info at face value, we get an interesting look:
Comet would be another Hive focused story, followed by expansions centered on the Vex and Cabal.

May have been a mistake, but i got Destiny on the 360. I am having fun so far but I am only level 5 and the game has already gotten repetitive. Which is something I have been warned of here and by everywhere on the net. I kept trying to talk myself out of getting it, but I just didn't listen
So far this feels very much like Halo and Borderlands had a baby and it was called Destiny. I have been going solo with everything so far and it has been manageable. However those big guys with the swords are a pain in the ass.
I chose the hunter class which I hope was not a bad decision.

Regarding the expansions, it would be nice if they had the base game and everything since is just a $40 big expansion instead of brand new releases like other MMO's on PC. That would make sense to me, but something also tells me they want to sell people full price games.

Warlocks are the Jedi class. Voidwalkers have the Nova Bomb super move, which can lay waste to many enemies at once. They have some of the coolest looking gear. The second subclass, Sunsingers, can self revive with their super, which comes in very handy on the harder content like Nightfalls and Raids.
Hunters get a golden gun with 3 bullets (or 4 with a symbiote helmet). Or they get to bladedance, which is virtually useless against high level enemies. No self revive, no shield like Titans get.
All three characters are decent enough to use, and many of us run one of each (again, for end game content, having 3 characters to run helps with getting coins, upgrade materials, etc.)
But the Warlock is fun, the Hunter is a bit less.

talk to us when you've thrown the 11 DAYS (yes days not hours) down the toilet that some of us have
don't delete the hunter, you can always come back to level it up at a later date (after you've created a better Titan as well
) ... you may if you stick with the game long enough get class specific armor for the hunter that you can vault and use later
Warlock was the best choice ... have fun

Re: Bungie - Destiny
If you like PvP, the Hunter is the best choice. The Bladedancer wreaks havoc in that and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. They all have their strengths and weaknesses, and all require very different play styles. I'm one of the few that enjoy the Hunter, but that said Warlock is definitely my first choice. If you enjoy the game as much as some of us do, you'll end up having all 3 in the long run anyway.

Once again hats off to Scott & Friends for last nights Crota Run and allowing to get in. feel like I get a Decent haul...
Titan - Gauntlets (2nd pair) and Boots
Warlock - Gauntlets and Boots
Hunter - Chest
Machine gun - Song of Ir (2 of them)
Shotgun - Swordbreaker (my 2nd one)
Also congrats to the crew who did the Hard VoG. I stuck around doing some bounties but listened to the "play-by-play" in the party. Sounds like they did it pretty good.

Re: Bungie - Destiny
I ended breaking a lot down...even one of the Last Word hand cannons'...the other I upgraded. I did do something I've never done...bought an exotic armor piece that wasn't either a Helmet or Chest. I ended up getting the "Don't Touch Me " gauntlets for the Hunter. don't know why really but they might come in handy with the becoming invisible briefly with melee attacks. I actually like the Hunter quite well. The "Cloaking" feature has come in handy more times I can count...especially with Nightfall. There are some Eris bounties that are a breeze using it.

remember the day you couldn't come across a Husk Of The Pit
It's now about as rare as a green engram
I now have 2 Eidolon Ally's and 7 Husk Of The Pit
time to break some down I guess ... do we know if they break down into anything (weapon parts?)

LOL, for real?
been having fun with Thorn over the weekend
Chase and I completed the exotic bounty together yesterday
I had one before but only gave it marginal playtime and none post buff
love sticking the poison into enemies and watching their health gradually melt away

The Thorn is quite a good gun. It is fast becoming my second favourite hand cannon after the Bringer of Fate.
I've also only earned two Husk of the Pits. They don't seem to be dropping as fast for me either.

I am in the same boat as IceRat, I have had about 5 Husks of the Pit drop across my 3 characters. I have one upgraded to an Eidolon Ally, and am holding 1 Husk each for the 2 alts. I broke the other 2 down. I wish that I would just get more Black Wax Idol, instead.

Re: Bungie - Destiny
All 3 of my characters have a maxed out Eidolon Ally (just waiting on that last piece from the hard raid). I've also dismantled about 4 other Husk of the Pits. Pretty sure you get weapon parts from them. They've been pretty common for me also. I got two on consecutive blade carrier kills.
I'd trade them all in for 1 Gjallahorn though. I've got about 500 hours into this game and not only have I never got it, nobody I've been playing with has ever got either (in my presence anyway).

I don't have one of course, but I have seen it drop for others WAY too many times. Crucible, Nightfalls, Raids...this game loves to taunt me.

Re: Bungie - Destiny
I'm pleased to say that I barely touched Destiny this week. Did my Raids, Nightfalls and Weeklies and helped a few others with theirs, but whatever hook this game had in me is pretty much done. I mean, I could play, but why would I? To level up gear that will be worthless when the next expansion comes out and/or will have to be completely reset and leveled, probably with yet another brand new currency? I don't think so.
It's more of a game design discussion, but I hate level cap increases in general. It's the same thing that turned me off on Borderlands (still a far superior game BTW), where I'd get whatever legendary gun at level 50, and the next update would force me to farm it up again. But at least in that game you could give/trade/duplicate guns. And in Warframe, everything was level 30 on day one, and it's level 30 now. They just add new and interesting characters, enemies and weapons, which is much better IMO.
That said, I might set an early alarm and see if I can catch some Crota cheese.
