Yes, I wholeheartedly agree with you on this.

Yeah, I picked up Hung Jury. It rocks...few more bounties tomorrow should unlock firefly.
Doing the Taken Champions is hard...like you said, nobody is around.
The Court of Oryx doesn't take long to get to so I just kind of "check in" occasionally to see if anyone is around. As easy as it is to farm engrams there, I am surpised it isn't more crowded.
On a maybe relate note, some folks are saying over in the Destiny reddit that if you run between zones on partrol you seem to end up with less people then if you walk. I don't know why but that is what "they" say.

They were also talking about how each zone can only have a max of 9 players but each solo player in that zone has 2 spots reserved for potential fireteam members. So if you have 3 solo players in a zone, you will never see a seperate group of players join.

For anyone having trouble taking down Taken Champs on Earth, Venus, or Mars try using the Ghorn. According to Reddit you can take them down solo with about 10 rockets.

I imagine it depends on your light level. I tried that once and 5 rockets did a decent amount of damage but it wasn't near 50%.

Re: Bungie - Destiny
I finally started the last word pvp quest and it blows. One kill does not always give 1%. I also killed 4 or 5 people with my hammer and I was still at 0%...

Mayhem is back, and if you are a idiot like me, and picked up the void sword on a Titan this is a good place to farm kills for your exotic sword quest. Each kill with super/grenade/melee counts as 1%. With the fast recharge time, you get your power back very quickly

I just got the exotic sword quest...I have a void sword also.
Did Mayhem for the 10 marks this morning...it is a fun time! Can you earn the 10 marks over and over during the day as long as you win? When I do the daily crucible and story the little icons on the map get filled in to show I have completed them for the day. The mayhem didn't even though my team won and I got the marks.

if that is the case than it should be the same as Zone Control was last week
in that you can get 10 marks for each of your first 3 wins for a total of 30 marks for the week

This is how I plan on getting the solar kills with my Warlock.

I assume Mayhem has taken the slot from Zone Control for the week and is not the daily based on your post above

Re: Bungie - Destiny
So yesterday, I went to the Court of Oryx area and just sat down. After a couple minutes one random guy showed up, a few more minutes another, and then another. Probably took 10 minutes. Then everyone started taking turns placing runes and I knocked ALL the tiers in no time at all. It's funny because the very first one we did was the Tier 3 one. I thought it would be somewhat difficult, but with 4 guys we knocked it out in less than a minute.
I had no idea what the mechanics of half the fights were, but the other randoms certainly did. The tier 1 runes I swear were done in 15-30 seconds. Even if you've finished the quest already, Court of Oryx is a pretty awesome place to farm engrams if you need to. Way more efficient than any loot cave.

Just a heads-up: Cowboom.com has an extra 20% off today with coupon code BOOM20.
I grabbed another XBox 360 with 320GB drive for $70 shipped (COD edition). Great deal if you need a second box so two people in your family can play Destiny at once. They also have a Halo edition with 250GB drive for $60 shipped after coupon.

If you don't like your Armsday weapon perks, you can hold the order until the following week, perks will change.

Re: Bungie - Destiny
So here we go with this week's Xur Report, brought to you by Bungie's Matchmaking. Need a player or two to tackle some of Destiny's more difficult adventures? Well, Bungie has your back! Bungie's patented DICKFEEDER system will insure you get a fireteam that will help you through any challenge that you might run into (assuming it's not Nightfalls or Raids). You'll be getting through those Weeklies in no time with the wonderful people that populate the matchmaking pool. And if Bungie can't find you partners, no worries, they'll just blame your net connection or send you into the game by yourself.
The DICKFEEDER system...try it today!
OK folks, this week's Xur Report is going to be a bit different, as I'm going to focus a bit on Infusion and the role it can play this week...if you've reached the 300 Level.
Xur is located in North Tower, at the end of the walkway past the Speaker.

First off the Legacy Engram this week is for Heavy Weapons. Remember, this gets you Year 1 Weapons only. DON'T BUY THIS UNLESS YOU WANT A YEAR ONE WEAPON.
For the Titan, it's the brand new Immolation Fists. These will give you the Explosive Pyre perk in the Sunbreaker skill tree. That allows you to select another perk in the tree and have this as well.
For the Hunter, it's the Celestial Nighthawk Helmet. Awesome helmet for Gunslingers, nice to have it for Year 2 as it can help with Oryx. Buying it is a toss up, and I'll explain that in a moment.
For the Warlock, It's Heart Of The Praxic Fire. Everybody gets a solar item this week. Praxic Fire helps Sunsingers throw more grenades and melees, and looks awesome to boot.
The armor engram this week is for Helmets. Next week we'll likely get a weapon.
So now you might guess why the Nighthawk is a toss up. Buying it from Xur gives you a 280 version. Getting it from an engram makes it 290. However, once you reach 300+, engrams can drop at 310. It's not 100% of the time as I learned from buying 10 engrams. I got about half 310 and half 290 (and half Obsidian Minds, but that's a different issue).
If you buy engrams, the ones you don't want (or duplicates) can be used for Infusion. In fact, you could buy the Nighthawk and engrams, and if it doesn't come via engram, you can infuse the one you bought.
That's a quick and dirty explanation, I go into a little more depth in the video, which will be up soon. For some reason the video didn't start saving right away, so my intro was lost in time. The video starts with me at Xur, and you'll see all the deals, as well as me making a trip to the Cryptarch to see what my engrams became, and what level they were.

Re: Bungie - Destiny
I managed to get all 3 exotic sword (Arc, Void, and Solar) quests onto my Warlock. It starts them at the collect rare materials phase, which is time consuming for sure, but it allowed me to entirely skip the crucible requirement on the other 2 swords/characters.
This is how you do it in case anyone was wondering...
1. With your main character/first sword, infuse it past 280, and make sure all upgrade bubbles are filled.
2. Focusing on finishing just this one sword by following the quest steps on your main character to the point where you need to collect materials (the quest icon becomes gold signifying its now in the exotic phase).
3. Earn the other two types of swords with your alt characters, but put them in the vault. Dont infuse them or upgrade them yet.
4. Once your first sword reaches the exotic phase (it doesnt have to be complete), take the other two swords out of the vault with your main character and infuse/max them past 280+
5. Speak with Shaxx, and he'll give you the other two quests for the alt swords. You'll now have all 3 exotic quests on one character and you can collect materials and earn ability kills simultaneously while your doing other shit (patrols, bounties, etc).
If you're going to use this method, I highly suggest getting all 3 quests on either a Warlock or Hunter, as getting void ability kills with a Titan is a pain in the butt.
Again, its still going to be very consuming collecting resources, but this method requires you to only do the Crucible requirement one time which IMO is fantastic. Playing Crucible with 3 different characters sucks if you're not used to it/dont enjoy it.
