Re: PS4 to be announced February 20th?
Why would people who don't like PC games buy a PC game on a console?
They split from MS so they could go multi-platform.
All these 360/PS3 launch titles were also on Xbox and/or PS2:
So essentially 50-60% of a launch lineup were ports. That doesn't mean PS2/Xbox were lead platforms, just that these games were released on every console possible to maximize sales. Same will go this time out.

Tech Specs -

I assume the final design of the console isn't finalized yet. I recall the first E3 that had the 360 the games were just running on Mac hardware.

Hey cool, they actually announced that it's an AMD GPU/CPU. Yay.
Jaguar is actually a pretty good CPU, unlike Bulldozer which was... well... shit.

The "rumor" was that after Sony heard the next Xbox would have 8GB, they reacted by matching that spec. The only problem is Sony was always going with DDR5, so they will be paying quite a premium for that decision. Good for us and developers though.

Re: PS4 to be announced February 20th?
About the controller: I generally dislike touchpads, although I guess it will make a better pointing device for things like Telltale's games and the web browser. Although, I'd rather stick to a PC for point-and-click stuff since I can use a mouse.
I hope most conventional games leave it alone, except for serving as the buttons it eliminated. Perhaps Select will be the left half, and Start will be the right half? Actually, maybe we don't need a Start button since pressing the PS button has the effect of pausing the game. Select is still needed for inventory, settings, etc., and I wouldn't want them to use up a shoulder button for that.
I kinda hope most games avoid using the touchpad in a "hands-on" manner where they force you to do some gesture when a button, if available, could suffice. Maybe it will end up being like the Sixaxis, where at first it gets "new toy" attention from developers, then they move on (with a few notable exceptions like flOw and Flower).
I have no interest at all in the social media stuff, but I can't call that a negative until more is known about pervasive it is. Can we simply disable it, or will it be pushed on us?
What I'm actually interested in is how that controller will work on a PC when somebody writes a driver for it. The touchpad could be a useful way to add mouse support to a gamepad, for games that support gamepads but still need the mouse for menus or configuration. (Steam calls this "Partial" Controller Support.) Then you could just map the Share and whatever that other new button is to Select/Back and Start.
Overall, I'm not seeing much "new" to like about it, other than it being a new system with upgraded specs. Maybe that's all that matters. We'll see in November (or whenever it launches)!

I'm really not sure what people can expect from a next-gen system. As much as some hope for the system is still just that. I also cared less to see what the system looked like than what you could do with it and they showed quite a bit of that. I'm interested in seeing what Microsoft brings but I expect pretty much the same things that we just saw with other exclusive titles.

Who carries their console around in their pocket and has it out to use it to do a variety of things in public? The look of the console is of very little importance as most of us shove them on a shelf and leave them there. As long as it doesn't end up being a console in the body of Mr. Hankey then I think most of us will be ok.

I truly hope this is a placeholder as Amazon has said, and not some test of what we're willing to spend.

If they tried to charge 99 bucks for next-gen games then I'm out. Not only the rumors of trying to stop used games but also nearly doubling the cost? lol!

I understand your point but the controller, what the console can do and the software being made for it are far more important to me than what the plastic case the console will be inside looks like.
