Gotcha. Did not know that!

Is that really something that could be patented, when the movie studios have been selling discs with "digital copies" that work the same way?
My understanding of digital copies (I've admittedly never used one) is that the disc is a data file and you have to redeem a code to unlock. But if I had a code and no disc, you could give me your disc and I could still redeem a digital copy. If my assumption is correct, that's different than a file on a disc that can only be accessed once. Either way, I guess, ultimately it's irrelevant, but I agree that the interview did seem a little ominous - as though they're getting by on a technicality.

It annoyed me because the whole intro, the whole story and world he was setting up seemed completely unrelated to the game itself. It was like "there are cameras everywhere, tracking your every move..." - I was thinking okay this could be cool V for Vendetta like and then "but what if there were superheroes, too?" and I said "what? did they intro the right game?"

A smaller, higher resolution, more responsive touch screen than the Wii U gamepad. I don't think this feature will sell too many Vitas unless there's an accompanying Vita price drop, but for current owners it's a good sign.

Also, remote play is such a good feature on the Wii U that it pisses me off when a game doesn't support it.

Re: PS4 to be announced February 20th?

I don't really care about not seeing the console, but it would've been nice to have a firmer statement on the anti-used games tech and some idea of pricing. As it is, they didn't release anything that excited me or made me more likely to purchase one. And I'm a little wary of the new Sony not-a-Kinect and its functionality with the DS4. There's nowhere I could mount that where it'd be able to see my hands from my normal gaming seat, so if it's required for some or many games, it'll be a deal killer for me.

at least its not like when Nintendo did that for the WiiU and nobody knew if it was a new console or just a new controller. Hell 85% of Wii owners still don't know wtf it is.

I'm thinking the two-tiered pricing will be w/ and w/out Vita.

Hasn't Nintendo been talking about streaming games from Wii U to 3DS, too? It must be an easy thing to pull off.

Do we know how many Vita's the PS4 is capable of steaming to at once?

You'd think if it were multiple Vita's, we'd see them touting that feature.

Re: PS4 to be announced February 20th?

Yes, not all people care about seeing the console. But that's one of the main points talked right now everywhere, where's the actual console??? So I'm sure Microsoft won't make the same mistake. Yes, it was a Sony mistake.

We are missing a lot of memes because of this.

I hope the EyeKinect thing is USB, just closed up the walls in my new media room, and I ran (only) a USB outlet to the front of my room.

Re: PS4 to be announced February 20th?

So, between the Wii's sensor bar, the Kinect, and now the new Eye, is there really any way to have all of this stuff be aesthetically pleasing for multi-console owners? Too much shit to set on or under a tv now and there's no way some 3rd party will find a way, let alone the licenses, to make a combo unit.

I guess this may interest me when they stop making games for the PS3. Otherwise I am hopefully years away from caring about this.

Yeah that's how I'm starting to feel. plenty of PS3 titles I haven't touched. And Watchdogs is PS3 also? Thanks. I will jump when a Call of Duty or something like that is PS4 only, but those AAA titles are on every platform possible.

In fact I haven't even finished Uncharted 3, so an exclusive 4 at this point isn't that enticing.

I have both the Wii U and Vita...and have not touched the Vita in months. Sony seems to forgot they even launched the damn thing.

But I find play on the Wii U GamePad pretty enjoyable. Sure, it may not be as pretty as the Vita, but I find the GamePad alot easier to control.

I too get pissed when not every game supports the off-TV Play. I would probably buy games just for that reason as I don't have much time to play on the TV but instead more when I'm in bed or the wife is watching something.

Not a bad idea given the Vita's poor sales. Sony needs to find a way to get those into peoples hands to hopefully buy some games.

Not the most aesthetically pleasing, but there are things like this: http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Wii-P...wii+move+mount.

I've got something similar for just the Kinect in my theater setup and it's fairly unobtrusive. In my situation, though, I don't think there'd be any point to adding an Eye to it, as its line of site is pretty much shoulders-up and the Eye wouldn't be able to see the controller. I can really only use the Kinect's motion sensing from a small spot where I wouldn't normally be for gaming. Even if I put the Eye above my screen, I still think it would likely have too steep an angle to register the light on the controller. Since completing my theater room last fall, I haven't even tried setting my Wii up in it due to that issue. If all three of the next-gen consoles put limitations on how your room can be set up, I'll likely have to move over to PC gaming or just stick with the current gen.

It looks like Johnny-5!

Stacking them never even occurred to me, but with the desire to "center" the eyes with the display, it makes sense. It's still ridiculous.

I do have a Kinect mounting bracket on the top of my super-thin LED as well, but that barely adds any height and one device is acceptable to me. Now that we're going to start needing multiple devices, however, it's not really a long-term solution.

Re: PS4 to be announced February 20th?

I will preorder it the moment it is up at amazon...and be ready to hit the cancel button the moment words gets out about any possible anti-consumer shit...

I am at the point as well that I really think backwards compatibility might be a must for me. I never really cared before because I always kept my old systems, but my living room/bedroom/kids rooms have so many systems and shit I need to start getting rid of some of these things...

I think this is really going to piss off a few people. Also, the article mentions gamesaves also won't carry over.
