Yes, and that fueled my excitement for a little while, but that score is very much an outlier.

FYI -
Wii U Skylanders Bundle coming to GameStop on Black Friday for $299.99. It's the white model. |
re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
That's a pretty impressive value.
I'm thinking about getting my kid sister a Wii U for Christmas, so it'll be interesting to see what bundles are available before the end of the year. I'm hoping for a Wii Party U set, but if not, hopefully a Nintendoland bundle will still be available. |

GameStop shows the black Nintendoland bundle for $299 as well. Ad is up in it's usual places. |

Does Wii Party U have a release date?

Wow, I'm really surprised at the awful Sonic reviews. Not what I was expecting at all -- and certainly not the third party system seller Nintendo was hoping for , I'm sure.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
Sonic was on too good of a run with Generations, AllStar Racing, Dash & Jump. That streak is unheard of for Sonic. He was due for a bomb. It's not the Sonic franchise unless you pepper in some terrible titles.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
I keep hearing the Wii game Sonic Colors is pretty good. Might pick that one up instead and wait for LW to drop. Anyone here play it?

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
I rented it from Redbox recently for my Sonic-crazy son. He loved it. Looked great as well. First time he's used the Wii in like a year and a half.
I should look for a cheap used copy or something |
Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
Fred Meyer doesn't know the difference between the Wii and Wii U either:

He seemed to like Generations a lot as well. |
Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
I wonder if anyone is going to get them to honor the price on an actual Wii U.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
Love the title change.
Sony is so "cool". |
Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
Fuuuuck yeah. It really should have been a Wii U title anyway.
|
Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
That's lame. I woulda rather had it for Wii U, but probably won't pick it up again as it doesn't have a ton of replayability for me.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
Unfortunately the Wii U hasn't been able to set itself apart from the PS3 and Xbox 360 in terms of horse power, so yeah it's going to get shit on for specs. You're shooting yourself in the foot if you release your next-gen console that has subpar versions of current gen games on it.
The gamepad can't be held accountable for the retail price. It's a low resolution, resistive, single touch tablet that basically streams (like AirPlay) and very little else. More expensive to produce than the Xbox and PS controllers? Absolutely, but not enough to drive the console price up anything substantial. |

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
Nintendo has made a nearly endless number of mistakes with the Wii U, but when people cite the lack of horsepower as their #1 complaint, I suspect they wouldn't really have been interested anyway.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
Yeah, the only thing for me is that based on the fact that it is not really a leap up from the current gen I was not willing to pay the asking price they had right from the get-go. $250 with 2 solid A+ titles and I'm on board for sure next year.
Because currently not really enthralled with too many titles. If I want to play WW I can actually do that on my Gamecube for example. Still love that system. Too bad they had to make that thing so "kiddie" in shape AND put a handle on it. The hardcore gamers for the most part laughed off that system and undeservedly so. Still had some of my fave games of all time on it. |
Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
That Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon rumor has me SO excited... and it would redeem the horrible excuse for "The Year of Luigi".
I really want to play Super Mario Galaxy 1/2 again. But I have no desire to play them in 480p... they really deserve an upscaled eShop release. I would pay full price or more for a Galaxy eshop release. I don't even know if this is something that is as easy as it sounds... BUT Imagine an eShop with upscaled Wii games, even if they just released one a month. Galaxy 1/2, Metroid Prime Trilogy, Wario Land Shake It, Mario Kart Wii, Mario Party 8/9, would all be HUGE sellers. the current eshop selection is really sad. it's hard to get excited about "baseball" or "balloon fight" or "donkey kong 3" |
Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
Super Mario 3D World is very download-friendly! The game in its entirety is reportedly only around a gig and a half.
Reviews for Wii Party U are starting to pop up. They're extremely mixed, but it still sounds like something I'd be interested in. It sounds more like a Wii game, though; apparently the gamepad is barely used at all, largely uninterested in building off the unique multiplayer experience that makes Nintendoland so neat. A Wonderful 101 patch just went up, by the way. |
