Yeah, this is the bundle that they should have brought out sooner. Now if they can knock another $100 off (and patch their relationship with Amazon), they would be flying off shelves.

that new super mario 3d world 6-minute trailer is pretty amazing. only feature i don't like is the mushroom that makes the characters giant, but that's being picky.

I have Wii Party U (I keep saying Wii U Party) pre-ordered. Can't wait to get it now. Solid scores from the more important sites. I imagine it will be a much better party game than the mediocre NintendoLand.

Depends on what you mean by "solid".

75/100 from IGN.
70/100 from Eurogamer.
70/100 from GamesRadar.
50/100 from Gamespot.
50/100 from Edge.
40/100 from Joystiq.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo

yeah. there are some fairly high scores and fairly low scores, but the two sites i check for wii u news/reviews (NintendoLife - 8/10, IGN- 7.5/10) have given the game a solid score.

How the hell does Super Mario 3D World not have its own thread on here yet? They released a new trailer with more gameplay today... Somebody (who isn't on their phone like me) should get on that!

If it was that price I would purchase that thing yesterday. Now if they could say offer this plus a top title for a deal of $250 this is what I would be getting for sure under the Xmas tree for myself. Do not see that happening but for sure by next summer I can see getting that kind of price.

Not much of a surprise there.

Good for them . That's a step in the right direction.

Nintendo is going to need every available retailer behind them if they want to move these systems.

I'm actually a little disappointed by what I've seen of it. Although I'm sure it will be fun, it looks very... linear, for lack of a better word. It doesn't appear to have an open feel like Mario 64 and Sunshine (I haven't played Galaxy so I can't comment on those). It reminds me of the levels in Sunshine where they took away your water pack.

The 3DS game is like that. But that's understandable since it doesn't have a right analog stick, and open worlds need full camera control.

Jesus Christ, Nintendo can't brand for shit these days. "reUmagined"? Ugh.

Also, I'm getting a little sick of the endless remakes, and the prices they're trying to sell them at.

Looks like that third game on that list is Wave Race 64.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo

The fourth one must be Star Fox 64.

It's harder than I thought to figure these out... Maybe Pokemon Snap for the second to last one?

Oh yeah, that'd be great. We spent so much time on that game. My kids would like that one... and the gamepad could add a whole other level of gameplay. Ooooo, I hope that you're right.

#2 Pilot Wings 64 ?

Only $30 for a polished N64 game....

I know, deal, right?

I was wrong on Pilotwings (it's a single word not two):

Super Mario 64
***** ***** **
Wave Race 64
Star Fox 64
Pilotwings 64
Pokemon Snap
1080 Snowboarding

The only other one I can think of would be Paper Mario 64, but the game was just called Paper Mario sans the 64.

... there were also a handful of Mario Party games on the N64.

Michael Corvin 10-24-13 08:54 AM

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo

Yeah I thought Ridge Racer as well, but who the hell would buy that when you can buy modern racing games? That's like dropping $30 on Madden 98.

If not for the 64 on the end one of my personal faves would fit, BLAST CORPS. Otherwise would only play Super Mario and Star Fox from this list and $30 is definitely too much. $20 would be a little easier to stomach considering there have been XBLA titles for that much and were just not essentially remakes.

AndyCleveland 10-24-13 08:59 AM

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo

I would gladly pay $60 for that HD Mario 64 remake, let alone $30! Let's hope there is some truth to this. The "ReUmagined" name though? Lame

Blast Corps is Rare. Won't happen.

Nintendo's "U" to Apple's "i".

It seems like they're only rehashing most of the N64 launch lineup. I would love to get an updated Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards.

If I can find a deal this holiday season with a free game incentive or a $50 gift card somewhere I'll end up picking up the new Mario/Luigi bundle. $250 is my sweet spot.

I had to do a double take to make sure this wasn't LMM or Gizmo.
