Nintendo's "U" to Apple's "i".

It seems like they're only rehashing most of the N64 launch lineup. I would love to get an updated Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards.

If I can find a deal this holiday season with a free game incentive or a $50 gift card somewhere I'll end up picking up the new Mario/Luigi bundle. $250 is my sweet spot.

Sadly I know :(

If game companies would just get along, in many cases they could make even more money off of us ;)

Pokemon Snap
1080 Snowboarding

I'm actually warming up to this idea. N64 releases were low resolution with limited textures, so a completely redone HD remake of these titles listed would have great opportunity to impress with a technical upgrade, much more so than Wind Waker. Plus, I would trust Nintendo to nail the gameplay down to be as good or better than the original.

It's cool.

Everyone bitches at anything Nintendo does. It's the cool thing to do.

...or maybe people recognize that Nintendo is an immensely talented publisher that releases an enormous number of wonderful games but makes an endless number of frustrating decisions along the way?

This. I swear there isn't an MBA or marketer worth a dime in that company. Sigh.

Or maybe some just prefer not to kowtow to every decision Nintendo makes.

No one wants castlevania 64 HD? ;)

Maybe if it's a success we can get Ocarina and Majora HD.

Those would both take much more work than Wind Waker.

That's a bingo!

This forum could a better job running Nintendo than their own executives. Wasting time revamping N64 games, then trying to charge consumers $30 a pop for them? Are they fucking mental? And seriously, "reUmagined"? Fuck right off.

Nintendo will forever be my favorite gaming company, but this is spot on.

I don't remotely agree with the price point for these N64 HD upgrades, but I think it's a fantastic idea. Of all the Nintendo systems, the N64 has a lot of classics that are damn near impossible to play now given how blocky and primitive the graphics look nowadays.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo

Exactly. The concept is sound(I wouldn't mind replaying a few of these), it always comes down to pricing. I'd say they over value their IPs but clearly there are people that eat it up as evidenced on this forum.

I know we're just guessing at the other titles, but why polish Wave Race 64? They already did that. It's called Wave Race: Blue Storm. Just put that on the marketplace. Why waste time and resources polishing either at all? Give me a new Wave Race and I'll gladly pay $60.

As worked up as you are, I looked around to see if anything had been confirmed by Nintendo, or any reputable site even, but nope, still just an unsubstantiated rumor. But glad you've found something to work yourself into a frenzy over, I guess.

After that, Assassin's Creed IV and Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures. And on November 1, Wii Fit U will be up in the eshop. If you're going to download Wii Fit U, the file size is 3gb. I still have enough space on my Wii U, but will be running out soon.

I'd like to pick up Sonic and Pac-Man...still playing Skylanders though.

Wii U is getting a lot of titles in the next few weeks. Draught be damned.

Eurogamer on why the Wii U is the console to get this Fall/Winter: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/20...keliest-source

I agree with quite a few of the points there, and although I've said it before, Nintendo's announced release slate blows away the competition in my eyes. Not in terms of sales or anything, but definitely in terms of my interest. I'm looking forward to Super Mario 3D World more than any of the Xbox One / PS4 launch titles, and I'm more eager for the next Smash Bros. and Mario Kart than just about anything else that's been announced.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo

Super Mario 3D World is the only game I'm missing from not having a Wii U anymore. Mario Kart and Smash don't do much for me these days, and I'm sad to hear Sonic didn't turn out well.

Still, glad the Wii U is starting to pick up a little steam, I was really impressed with the console initially, but it has been an incredibly rough first year. I think it still has potential if Nintendo would just remove their head from their ass and think it out a little bit.

I think Nintendo's strategy has been fine and I don't understand why people have a problem with it. The number of people that buy a system at launch is too low to release all your big games at once. Mario U, Nintendoland, and Zombie U were fine launch games. Now we have Wind Waker HD, Luigi U, Wonderful 101 and Pikmin 3. Next month is Super Mario 3D World December is Wii Fit U. Future games such as Donkley Kong Country Tropical Freeze, new Zelda, new Metroid, new Mario etc etc. will get more people to buy the Wii U.

Getting a Wii U to complement my PS4. In very large part because of this game...

This wasn't Nintendo's strategy. By their own admission, they screwed up. They had a year's headstart and completely blew it. You can't go the better part of a year with borderline-zero games.

Did you buy a Wii U at launch? Considering that you started a thread where you said you only have two games, and in that same breath you crack a joke about dusting off the console...I mean, that doesn't sound like a huge vote of confidence.

I do hope Nintendo is able to pull out of this tailspin, and they certainly have some games both on store shelves and on the horizon to be excited about, but the leadership there is so poor that I don't know if they'll be able to get those games in the hands of people who'll love 'em.

The number of people that buy a system at launch is higher if there are titles worth playing on it. Most new systems have been sold out for several months initially so it's a tough comparison. Furthermore, it tends to be a smarter move to get some A titles to push your system before releasing your B-line of titles, which historically sell better as "hold overs", otherwise they end up with the anemic sales they did (the above average Wonderful 101 has sold a grand total of 60,000 units worldwide so far.)

Unfortunately for Nintendo, the 3rd party titles don't seem to be the "ideal" versions of the game (arguable: Deus Ex (which needs to be the best version considering the age gap), and Rayman Legends, though I greatly prefer the non-Wii U versions myself), and they really do have a bit of a conceptual clusterfuck with the Wii U Pad, which still isn't available for individual sale.

However, this is Nintendo, and if their Handhelds have shown me anything it's that first iterations tend to be a little sloppy. I'm hoping there is a second iteration of the Wii U that includes a revved up version of the Tablet controller (better screen maybe, better charging options, better battery life, easier availability) or at least a pro controller with all the same button functionality. They have some great ideas, they just need to fully develop them, and while the titles planned for the future sound good (great characters in average looking games), they could do a little better. I know a few people that would buy it just for Super Smash Bros, but that is one series I never saw the appeal of.

That's a cool color! I don't really need another Wiimote though since I have the Mario and Luigi one's preordered.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo

Are people really going to pay $40 for a Wiimote in 2013? They must be a couple dollars now used at most stores (I guess those probably don't have Wii + built in though).
