Yeah, that was the worst - and the map was no help. Even if I knew how to get there, it was still a slog.

I don't think this is a deal breaker -- but it is a pain. I don't even get 2 hours most nights... I'm lucky if I get an hour or less so spending 30 minutes finding a GD check point is bothersome. Not to mention these prick-bastard goons were driving around shooting at me on land and from the air!

My favorite attributes:

- rubberized + caustic cloud...no need to worry about arc just "bowl" it toward a group of dudes.
- homing + an element...also no need to aim and works from cover
- transfusion...steals health

My grenade from level 20 or so on has been a homing MIRV with both transfusion and slag. I don't think it does a ton of direct damage, but it's beastly efficient for keeping me upright and helping me clear crowds.

Am I the only one who doesn't even use grenades? My main is only level 19 but I haven't really found a reason to use them as I usually just snipe everything. I do the samething with all 4 of the characters.

^Two full playthroughs and I tossed maybe 4 grenades the entire time...and that was while playing as the Commando, who has specific grenade-related skills. Just didn't find them necessary or particularly useful when I did try them.

I don't use them like traditional grenades but rather like a perk. They slag enemies and steal health while I light them up with revolvers and SMGs. I don't like to hang back and snipe in Borderlands and would rather be in the chaos, so it's also related to play style.

As much as I love the game and have developed this weird compulsion to play it all the time, I feel the same way. I keep feeling like a lot of the playtime is just filled with tedious travel/ wandering aimlessly and hoping to run into the right location. Combined with the ridiculous lack of quit/ save points for main-quest missions, the game is starting to feel more like a chore sometimes. I realize I'm an idiot when it comes to most games, but at this point it's starting to feel like certain design choices were made to artificially extend the campaign time for the game. All that being said, I'm sure I'll play for two hours when I get home from work instead of watching one of my Netflix movies that have gone untouched for two weeks.

Same here. Chuck some grenades into the mix and unload with my weapons. Works great on some of the bigger bosses. Second perk I started upping after upgrading my backpack.

Seriously. Why not use them? They're plentiful all over the land and it's a simple button. The benefits can be enormous.

Re: Borderlands 2: "xbox360/ps3/pc" -2012

I'm kind of surprised so many of you aren't using the grenades. I'm still relatively low level (two lvl 22 characters) but there are tons of grenades in this game and some of them are crazy powerful. During large battles I like to toss out grenades in all directions to initiate the fight and then run around cleaning up whatever is left standing. I'm currently using rubberized electrical ones and they work great.

Those of you who are ignoring the grenades are really missing out. Not to mention all the badass ranks you can get by using the different types of grenades. Speaking of, what is everyone's badass rank and how many characters were used to get that rank?

I think I'm around 5700 or 5800 using two lvl 22 characters. Not sure if that's good, bad, or just about average.

i honestly cannot remember being frustrated once in the first game from not being able to find a location. It is good to know that other gamers are having the same troubles and that I am not just an idiot.

I don't recall having that issue yet. I did run into some issues last night where an area was too dark for me to figure out how to get out of it, but I assume I can fix it via settings.

Is there a way to shut off the auto-pickup/assigning of guns? I hate that.

What? The only time it does that is if you hold the pickup button down. Don't do that. Have you seriously played all the way through BL1 and part of BL2 always swapping your weapons on pickup?

No, it just happens occasionally on accident when I'm trying to pick up all ammo/cash and am hovered over a white gun.

Ok, that makes me feel better I don't think there's any way to disable that. Just gotta be careful. I suppose you could mark your equipped weapons as favorites to find them faster in those cases.

One thing I'd love is loadout switching.

Loadout switching would be great. I'd love to compile different arsenals I could just switch to for different types of enemies.

It is better than the first one but I still think that there isn't much to it.

maybe not a ton of substance, but there's at least a story. the first one was just like "here's a last boss. game over."

To be honest I think that Handsome Jack is one of the worst antagonists in recent video game history and his character is a total tool. I know they want you to hate him but there is no reason for me to believe that this guy should have and be able to wield so much power. He is like that "cool" guy in the class that other students want to hear talk but the teacher wants to give the boot from Beirut to.

He might be worth a trillion dollars but he is an absolute bore of an antagonist.

Re: Borderlands 2: "xbox360/ps3/pc" -2012

because of the great generosity of a member of this forum, I have many level 50 orange items for the 360 version. I currently can't use them but I have no problem doing a dupe for anyone who wants them...this includes the boss breaking combo of bee/Conference shield/shotgun that I guess kills the hardest boss in the game in under a minute...

anyone who is on their second playthrough, or knows they will eventually get there, and that wants these items let me know......It shows me never on my xbox, but I usually am, I just hide because of some old friends who would get upset if I dropped them, but don't understand that I DON'T want to CHAT every fucking SECOND when I am on the xbox...(they really need a way to hide from a select few people...lol)

anyone....I am also looking for any 30ish level orange items if anyone is willing to do a dupe for me on them...
