You are correct...I know in the past when there has been a "code" and discount, I've gotten a seperate email on both the same day. But they came a day or two after getting a shipping notice.

Finally got my code from Amazon at around 11pm. I had been holding off until it came - I spent the evening bugging my son by repeatedly opening my ultimate loot chest and saying "so, you want me to share huh?"

So is everybody waiting on codes and orders to ship or is there anybody that's actually playing this?
Just wondering what everybody's first impression were? I had the first borderlands on launch day also and was more than excited for this game to come out. So far I feel kinda let down. I'm only level 9 but the first few areas and quests were pretty uneventful.
My girlfriend and I played the first one in splitscreen from beginning to end in about 3 days after it came out. We couldn't put it down. We started this yesterday and she lasted about 30 minutes. The splitscreen is terrible. I don't know if they made the scenery and enemies bigger or what, but when you only have half a screen it's almost unplayable. We couldn't tell what we were looking at and where we were on the map or even what direction we heading. We didn't have any issues at all with the split screen in first one.
So anyway, she quit and I kept playing. While it was a million percent easier to see what the hell was going on, the gameplay was still meh. I'm definitely sticking with it, just hoping it picks up a bit.

^^ The events on the screen seem to be super-zoomed in... I agree with what you're saying. I'm only level 3 and having those sasquatch like monsters jumping towards me was totally frustrating.
I'm digging this game but it's not perfect. At least I know I should sit tight and not expect much thru at least level 9

They probably have it set to something really low for the FOV. Default on PC is 90, which seems fine, but it is configurable.
I used my second golden key at level 15. This time I got a couple of shitty relics. Sold them both for about $800 total.

I had a blast playing it last night. No issues with the display for me, except that the mini-map is so tiny and crowded that it is hard to use. Can't wait to find some ammo expansion slots.
3 of us got through the fight with Flynn but haven't found any very cool weapons yet.

I'd love to try this co-op... if I'm online, feel free to hit me up.

I picked mine up yesterday evening at BB, but haven't had a chance to play yet. I found Best Buy was also running a unadvertised special if you pre-ordered X-Com: Enemy Unknown with your pick up you received a $5 gift card (basically making the pre-order free).
My premiere club code printed on the receipt and they had a bunch of the midnight launch posters left so I got one of those too.

Started with the Gunzerker, got to Level 7 with him and decided to start over. He's slow, and the skill point upgrades are just not appealing. Dual-wielding is kind of fun but not great--liked Brick's punching skills much better. Began again and Zero and like it much better, though 2 of 3 other guys I played co-op with were him too which is kind of lame.
Had one big glitch, stuck in a toilet and couldn't get out. Had to quit the game and come back.
Didn't get my amazon code until after 11 p.m., and was a level 7 by then. Bad move by amazon on not getting those out sooner.
Overall loving it: great dialogue, improved graphics, improved interface, cool enemies with better AI. Will the season pass be worth it?

Re: Borderlands 2: "xbox360/ps3/pc" -2012
So after my mediocre solo experience yesterday, I tried some online co-op this morning. Started over with a brand new character, and 3 other randoms immediately joined. The action was much more fun, way more enemies, but the loot is definitely not enough for 4 people. And one of the random players was doing some kind of speed round, because he was just hauling ass through the story and ignoring the side missions or exploring for loot. So anyway, my online character is way further along in the story, but has much crappier weapons and stuff because we were flying through it so fast. Oh and this new character is still 2 levels below my solo character but much further along story-wise.
So I quit out of the online game, and continue solo with this newer character. I went back to the first level, and now some of the missions that I know got skipped because I did them yesterday by myself are no longer available because the story progressed too far.
A word of caution, if you're doing co-op, make sure you do it with people that have the same gameplan as you because you're probably missing shit.

Played up to level 8 with Siren last night. Great stuff!
I do have to say though, and this is a good thing, but (so far) it feels more like a really nice DLC for the last game than it does a true sequel.

One thing annoying is when you compare weapons to your current, it tells you if the stats are higher/lower but not the actual amount.

i am thinking of returning my Xbox version and getting the PC version. I think my system can run it.
how large is the steam download for this game? the system requirements say you need to have 20 GB of hard drive space. Is the download that large??
is the game running well for lower end PCs and laptops?

This is Borderlands 1 maxed out on similar specs (got about 35 fps, 25 fps while recording, as per comments.).

Loving the game so far. Claptrap is still funny and Scooter is still annoying.
What's the golden key for again? The guys at Gamestop said to use to immediately but I heard (possibly in this thread I can't remember) that it might be wise to wait.

somehow, i got 2 keys from gearbox through the shift program. no idea how that happened, but i won't complain.
as for the game, solo is really tough some times. Captain Flynt is near impossible with me as the gunzerker.
