20 seems pretty low for those, especially General Knoxx. IIRC

Really? I remember those assassins being pretty insane when I was lower level. I was thinking Zombie might be doable.

I must be misremembering then, I've beaten the main game once and started a second play through. I'll have to fire it up and check (goodbye in advance to the three hours after I do).

I hate to disagree but you shouldn't get near Zombie Island unless you're close to Level 30 or more. But around Level 43 or more could be a slight overkill. Even at Level 30 you'll still get a challenge. Also take along something good for headshots and fire. Knoxx is a differnt story as it for those above 45.

Re: Borderlands 2: "xbox360/ps3/pc" -2012

From an interview on Eurogamer

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/20...of-progression

Borderlands 2 Badass system has infinite levels of progression

By Wesley Yin-Poole Published 13 July, 2012

Gearbox Software on its attempt to create a hobby.

Gearbox Software has unveiled Borderlands 2's Badass system, its character-wide progression system with an infinite number of levels.

As you play Borderlands 2 you level up your Badass rank, which is linked to your profile but provides statistical bonuses to all your characters - new and old.

Each time you use a token gained through Badass, the game randomly picks a set of statistics. Then, you decide which statistic to increase. It's all powered by a secret algorithm the developer is keeping close to its chest,

Gearbox chief Randy Picthford, who expects to see long-term players with Badass levels in the thousands, told Eurogamer he believes the system is the first of its kind.

"I don't know of any examples," he said. "There are a couple of games that have done profile levelling. Even Call of Duty multiplayer, your growth is profile related, not character related, but they don't have character choices. You're not growing characters.

"And I haven't seen one that's comfortable with infini-growth. Everything puts a cap onto it."

Using data based on how Borderlands 1 players played the game some two-and-a-half years after launch, Gearbox is able to extrapolate how players will play the sequel two-and-a-half years after it launches, and use mathematical models to predict how the Badass system will evolve.

It's all part of Gearbox's effort to create a hobby with Borderlands 2, something players continue to play for years.

"Borderlands was a weird thing in the sense that, a lot of games are designed to be a story you consume and then you're done," Pitchford said. "Whereas Borderlands was this thing that launched and then both in sales and in playtime it kept accelerating, instead of just launching big and then dropping off."

Borderlands 2's expected enduring popularity should enable Gearbox to make a "really big investment" in downloadable content, much in the same way it did with Borderlands 1.

There's also the issue of value, Pitchford added. He hopes that by creating a game that, technically, will last players forever, they will feel they're getting value for money.

"They got to take a risk. They've got to spend some money. They've got to buy a game. And I want them to feel like, man, the value I'm getting out of this, it's not only worth the $60 or whatever, I'm getting more value out of this than the last $500 I spent on other video games. We want that goodwill.

"So we're thinking about it like a hobby and not like just a consumable, get it done and get ready to buy your next game."
Sounds.... interesting.

Re: Borderlands 2: "xbox360/ps3/pc" -2012

Fantastic. It's prestige that not only means something in-game, but transcends all your characters. I wonder if they'll link it to an online profile so it isn't tied to just one proprietary system. Meaning some Gearbox or 2K account so it doesn't matter if you're playing on XBL or PSN or Steam or whatever; you can migrate around and continue to work on your sole identity.

Someone at a much higher level can take him over to that DLC area with those tall spider creatures and level him up in no time. I took a friend there and leveled him up like 20 levels in an hour or so.

There are two styles of playing here....

one...for the person who wants to actually experience the game, like a challenge, keep it interesting, doesn't want much help but some pointers are ok....Don't play with anyone at least 5 Levels above you.

two...for the person who wants to level up fast, doesn't mind "riding in the backseat" and letting someone else enjoy all the fun....Do play with someone at least 15-20 Levels above you.

...if you're on the 3rd or 4th character then I can see the "Fast Leveling" but for first time thru....you'll misss some good parts of the game. Of course it's better with one or more friends close to your same level.

I wouldn't recommend fast leveling the first time through either. However, when you get to the levels past 50 then the leveling can be a grind and doesn't really add anything special to the game itself. At some point I just wanted to get it done and stayed over there and killed those spider creatures by myself.

Yea, I agree. The weird part part is when you get close to 50, two or three levels makes all the difference. That's because the really good stuff is not available till around Level 53-55 but the enemies can be pretty tough. Even at Level say 55 when you encounter some it's a tough fight.

I did both the Siren and "Bird Man" the long way but had help in some places with the Soldier and "Bruiser". After two normal play-thru's along with the 2nd time around the actaul play time was wearing a bit thin on me trying to complete the Soldier and "Bruiser". All four of mine are Level 61 or higher.

I've only leveled up Roland. Which character do you all recommend I try next?

Borderlands 2' Takes 58 Hours to Complete a Single Playthrough

Or at least, that's how long it took one game-guide writer.

The original 'Borderlands' was a game built on replayability. It didn't have the longest campaign, but thanks to DLC packs and the option to replay and fight harder baddies with better loot, players got a lot out of it.

'Borderlands 2' is a bit different in that the campaign is going to take enough time to satisfy even the most demanding of players. According to Gearbox, a recent playthrough by a game guide writer took an impressive 58 hours.

Your mileage may vary of course, but nearly 60 hours of gameplay on one playthrough with one character is JRPG like in length. As long as those 60 hours of play are good, we're in for one potentially great game.

Actually I was hoping for somewhere around 30-40 hours. I want to play all four+ one like I did in the first. If that time is right then most people will be lucky to play thru with two let alone all four.

With Gearbox knowing how much people played Borderlands 1, I'm wondering if they are sadistic enough to tie an achievement to maxing out all 4 characters.

That would be awesome! I'd be up for that challenge.

Keep in mind, though, that this is a guide writer's experience. I imagine that this includes every sidequest too. I feel like I spent around that same amount of time on my complete playthrough of the first game. Speedruns will no doubt be possible.
