It comes and goes actually.

I'm keeping my Amazon pre-order on this (or maybe switching to Best Buy, which might save me like an extra $5 after tax, thanks to the GCU $20 rebate), but in either case, didn't order this one through New Egg for fear of missing out on the pre-order club bonuses.

It wasn't there when I ordered it in march so it must have been taken off sometime after you ordered it and then put back on.

This is pretty long clip (almost hour+ long) but shows some good stuff. Some two-player co-op play, more in depth use of the "skill trees", skill tree icons and some of their uses and weapons and of course comments by Randy Pitchford.

http://www.joystiq.com/2012/08/30/bo...-4-dlc-for-30/

Borderlands 2 will have at least four downloadable content expansions by next summer. 2K Games announced a $30 season pass this morning, available at launch, which will make the four pieces of $10 DLC accessible for the price of three. The season pass is available for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Pass holders will be able to download the new content as it goes live, with all four "scheduled to be available by June 2013." Borderlands 2 – and the Season Pass – will cooperatively roll into retail September 18.

NP.

I've never bought a season pass before, are they usually a limited time thing? (i.e., is there any reason to buy right away?)

Re: Borderlands 2: "xbox360/ps3/pc" -2012

The only season pass I bought was for L.A. Noire and that was a limited time thing. Hopefully that won't be the case here, as I'd prefer to wait until the first DLC is out and decide if it's something I want at that time.

i hate season passes. i mean they are great for the consumer so you get more life out of the game, but i tend to play a game, beat it then sell it back when it's worth the most. if i wait for all that stuff to come out, by the time i want to sell it, borderlands 2 will be worth $5 in trade.

Re: Borderlands 2: "xbox360/ps3/pc" -2012

The Gears of War 3 season pass is still on sale, as is the one for Saints Row 3. I think LA Noire was the only one that became unavailable after a certain amount of time.

The content included in all of the above has been on sale at price points lower than the discount provided by the season passes, by the way. Some of it before the season pass period had even expired. It's really just a matter of whether you want all Borderlands 2 content on day one or not, and if so, whether you'd prefer to pay $100 or $90 for the complete game.

That's the rub. Taking it at face value, it's a lukewarm deal, but only if you plan on buying all on launch day. Based on the sales for Borderlands DLC, you can probably expect to nab all these for $5 each at some point.

So you're saving $10 off full price, but paying a $2.50 premium each(based on sales) to get them all on launch day.

I think $2.50 will probably be more than worth it. I'm pretty sure they learned their lesson with Moxxie and all the DLC for 2 will be top notch.

Who's stopping you from not purchasing the DLC and selling the game the moment you're finished with it? 2K and Gearbox aren't holding guns to your head telling you to purchase the DLC.

I purchased the first game with all of its DLC on Steam for $7.49 shortly after the GOTY edition came out. Games lose their resell value, some faster than others.

Re: Borderlands 2: "xbox360/ps3/pc" -2012

Season Passes also go on sale too. In fact, I remember buying the GoW3 season pass when it hit a discount and that was before all the content was available.

I'd say wait on the pass until the first content is out and deemed essential immediately. Then you're only playing $20 for 3 instead of $30 for 4 for it since the first is a wash.

If you don't need the first pack immediately and would wait on it for a sale price anyway, then just wait for either it or the season pack to go on sale.

It's all about how quickly you need the first DLC.

I just traded in a bunch of DS games at gamestop for enough credit to pre-order this. I feel so dirty.

Borderlands 1 held its trade in value pretty well (with ups and downs). I think the season passes make a lot more sense on multiplayer centric games like this more than games you would likely want to trade in right away.

You can pre-order at best buy w/ the gamer unlocked and get a $20 reward zone cert. Also, if it goes on sale within 30 days, you can price match on top of that.

did i say otherwise?

I just said I hate it for myself because I trade games in and then I feel like I've missed gaming content since it always comes out up to a year after the game has been released.

Microsoft store has a good deal going. Preorder the game, get a $10 MS store credit and 1600 MS points.

It isn't stated that you get the premier bonuses though....

Re: Borderlands 2: "xbox360/ps3/pc" -2012

FWIW, I emailed Amazon about the $10 credit (since some said it came and went). I ordered it back in March, so the order history doesn't reflect the credit. They said it would apply since it is a current promotion. Yet another reason why I love Amazon.
