Re: Borderlands 2: "xbox360/ps3/pc" -2012

TeamXbox.com has a preview up here.....

http://previews.teamxbox.com/xbox-36...derlands-2/p1/

Some highlights as mentioned.....

For those looking for continuity, be rest assured as Gearbox has included all four of the original vault hunters in this game. While interacting with them throughout the game you will learn about their past and what they have become now - five years after the original game.

Missions have also received an upgrade of sorts. They are now dynamic - meaning if you don't pursue your goals quick enough the plot could change which will have implications later on during the mission.

Now the cool thing is that, unlike the level cap of fifty, these Badass Ranks are unlimited...to infinity and beyond. If that's not cool enough for you then here's something else. You can transfer these Badass Ranks & Perks to any new character that you create in Borderlands 2.....Randy Pitchford states that you may see these Badass Perks reach high into the thousands with dedicated players that continue to play the game for years to come

Borderlands 2 will also include a "stash" where you can store all of your hard-earned loot. But this time it is shared across all of your characters.

....and here is 14 minutes of gameplay.

I'm not sure I like the idea of time limits on quests. I know it adds a sense of urgency and is more realistic in a way, but I want to be able to explore and do things at my own pace while not stressing out my inner completionist.

Yeah I agree with that. But on the flip side, it rewards people who do multiple play throughs.

Some quests should be time sensitive. But it shouldn't start until you accept and you should know before you accept. You know, in case you need to go to bed like a respectable adult. Also, they should never be back-to-back.

Re: Borderlands 2: "xbox360/ps3/pc" -2012

From the way it sounds this is the Main Missions and not the side quests. And "goals" not being done quick enough could be to keep you from over-reaching or trying to do other parts not meant to do yet. It'll be a open sand box but sounds like there's a clock in place now. I also wonder if this might have something to do with "Level Jumping"....where one that's way higher than you brings you into a game and helps bump your level. Keep in mind Gearbox wants this to be story driven and not some wacky all-out free-to-roam shooter only.

Borderlands 2 Completed, Gearbox Shifts Focus to DLC
http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/a...ady-to-go.aspx

Gearbox's highly-anticipated RPG/shooter has been finalized. Today the company announced that all the game's on-disc content is finished and the game is ready for certification. As Gearbox puts it, "In other words, the game is finished and we cannot make any further changes to the game."

"As such, the team is now shifting their focus towards post-launch efforts," the statement on Gearbox's website read, "including the Mechromancer: the new character class that will be released as free downloadable content to members of the Borderlands 2 Premiere Club roughly 60 to 90 days after launch

It's good they announced that now to help curb the bitching when DLC comes "too close" to launch to have not "just been on the fuckin' disc, I mean what are they doing over there? Do they think we're idiots?" nonsense everywhere.

Re: Borderlands 2: "xbox360/ps3/pc" -2012

It's smart of them to make this announcement now and lay out the timetable clearly, rather than waiting until a week before the game ships and then saying "oh by the way, you'll need to pay extra for DLC on day one if you want the complete package." Also, giving some of it free to those who preorder the game is a great way to offset bad PR. Reward your loyal customers instead of using every possible angle to get more of their money.

This is why Gearbox is a winner.

Is it still plagiarism if the second person said it better?

That's subjective. Mine is more based in reality. You're looking at it as a rational human being, I'm looking at it as The Internet does. It doesn't matter that they announced it, people are still too dumb to understand.

That's true. I have no snappy remarks in response to that.

Cross posting from the deals thread:
Insane deal going on at Amazon.com for Borderlands 2 for PC. They are giving 10% off their already discounted price if you buy Borderlands GOTY PC (or already bought it in the last week or so).

They also have a even more discounted 4 pack. After the 10% off deal, it works out to be $36 a copy. Pretty sick.

Achievement list is up. I'm not pasting the whole thing here, especially since half of them are Secret and unknown (for now), but this is particularly cool:

Backstory for anyone who missed it.

Not bad but I'm sure there's more to most if not all of them....Circle of Slaughter sounds like a joy ride.

Four will be fun enough but having the "5th"...Mechromancer is icing on the cake.

On a side note I have to get my pre-order from Amazon (Deluxe Vault Hunter) even though I wanted it from Gamestop so I could get the "Bug Arena". Since the wife is still laid off, Amazon gave me the best trade in value. But I did see the "Bug Arena" will become available later on.

For those that missed out on the loot chest version, play-asia just put it up. Region free. It's only $190 + $27 shipping.

I'm willing to bet you'll see some all over E-bay after release for $2-300. They can have it. I'm lucky enough to get the Deluxe Vault set. I'd rather have some figurines and there are suppose to be all four of the new characters later this year.

I would love to see Gearbox put out more copies of these and put the kabosh on these money grubbers. I really can't stand people that buy stuff to then try and sell it for an insane amount. I can see turning a reasonable profit but this is ridiculous.

There will be more when it comes closer to release date - even the truly "limited" stuff (like the Mass Effect 3 SEs) can be found for retail fairly easily.
