The PS3 patch is live already. PC and 360 should be tomorrow.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

Only major bug I found was once the ground below the blacksmith in Whiterun disappeared. I knew I shouldn't do it but I couldn't resist -- I walked under the smelter and soon found myself 20 feet below the house. I had to fast travel back to Whiterun to get back on solid ground.

As long as we're talking about problems...

Is anyone having issues with the game freezing on them?
It's happening to me more and more (on a newer black/slim 360).
But it ONLY happens during the loading screen when I go from one area to another - there's that black screen with the smoke, and then it just freezes and nothing. Sometimes I can eject and restart other times I have to power down and back up. Since it's always happening during loading, I'm thinking of just installing it to the HD, regardless of texture issues.

Yeah, I thought so too. As I have previously said, my gf doesn't have internet way up in the mountains and can't download any patches. When I took my profile and save games to her house it wouldn't let me play because I assume the game wasn't updated upon install. Taking the advice of a poster here I took her hard drive (depriving her of Skyrim for a night) and put it in my Xbox and loaded the game. I assumed it would automatically detect that Skyrim had not been updated and go ahead and do it. Nothing happened and I couldn't figure any way to get it to do it manually. So I'm still not able to bring my game over and play. I'm hoping if they put out a new patch I'll be able to get it on her's.

Playing it installed and have had one freeze thus far. I think I just hit 90 hours last night. Luckily I had just left a dungeon and fast traveled so I was able to reboot and load my autosave. No other freeze problems than the one though.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

I've had it installed to the HD from the beginning, and through 60 or so hours I've had 2 or 3 lockups - both at the loading screen like you, IIRC. I've never noticed a texture problem either, but I may just be a moran and not realize I've been playing with poorer graphics all this time.

I've had two or three freezes, all during the loading screen.

I've had it installed since day one.

I think you can install a patch to a usb drive. I've never tried it, and I don't know if that patch can then be transported...

Wouldn't your hard drive be registered to your system? I think you're just going to have to take her system to your place and sign her up for a Live account.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

Okay a couple of questions.

1) I was doing the college of winterhold quest in saarhanthal..and I fought a freaking Draugr Scourge, according to the strat guide they are level 21. I was lvl 12 wtf? I was expecting a Draugr Wight at the worst.

2)How do I recharge items that have lost charges? I don't need to re-enchant do I? Just need a soul gem?

3)I had 3 thalmar Justicars attack me this morning, they had a order to execute me because I have done damage to the Aldari Dominion, what could cause this? I haven't attacked them..and I haven't even progressed the main quest pass the Dragon reborn quest (The one where you kill the dragon in whiterun)

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

1) Yeah, when I came across that thing I was surprised as hell. Far and away the toughest enemy for me so far (and I'm at level 24 now...but was probably about the same as you when I faced him).

3) I was in the college once and 3 guys showed up in my sleeping quarters, I wasn't in them though, they started attacking some other mage, I had no idea what was happening. So I kill them and take a note off one of them, it was an order to kill me for stealing. No idea who I stole from, but I know I was never seen stealing.

Did you win? The game has to put a challenge in your way from time to time...

You have to have a filled soul gem...highlight the weapon in your inventory...and then hit RB on the 360 (not sure what on the ps3)...it will bring up all your filled soul gems and you pick the one you want to use...the stronger the gem, the less you need to charge a weapon...to fill a soul gem you can find weapons that fill up empty gems when you kill enemies..and I think there is also a spell, though I never used it...just weapons...

I think this is the games way of making you feel like it is changing with your actions...maybe you killed a thalmar chicken? I am sure you did something that hurt them..

Yeah, it was a challenge, but I eventually won.

Yeah I had 3 guys trying to kill me for stealing, but they got attacked by a dragon on their way at me lol

I thought the Dragon Priest was a pain as I keep getting killed so all I then was on next reloaded just ran out of the room and when I spotted him crossing the bridge I just cast my powerful destruct spell on him and ran back so he couldn't see me. Just repeat til he was dead and the Staff of Magnus was mine.

My horse has gotten incredibly brave (or incredibly stupid). It used to be that he'd run off during a fight and I'd have to find him afterwards. Now he jumps right in there! Last night he even chased a dude up a flight of narrow stairs.

My guide finally comes today from Amazon (supposedly). I ordered it like two weeks ago and it was backordered. At the time I wasn't sure I needed it, but last night I became convinced that it would be very useful for me.

Yeah if I didn't have my laptop next to me with the wiki up, I'd definitely want a guide.

Well the update is out for the 360 and it seems to be causing more problems then it's fixing. That's it I'm playing offline till they fix the problems.

You've had the same horse survive for longer than 10 minutes? Must be the special one I've heard about but haven't found yet.

That's another problem I have with this game. Riding a horse is pointless and feels like a completely tacked-on afterthought. The first time I tried it, I thought I must be doing something wrong when I couldn't fight from horseback, but no. In order to fight the 3 bears that will inevitably show up every 20 feet when you're riding, you have to dismount and unsheathe your weapon, by which time they've clawed away about two-thirds of your horse's health.

But yes, they are brave! I've discovered that a round of horse vs. dragon doesn't turn out well for horse.

What kind of problems? I haven't played in over a week, so I haven't tried it post patch yet.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- November 2011

Wish I wouldn't have updated to the new patch...no problems yet, but I wasn't having any with the old version...from what I've read, I'd suggest not accepting the update and playing offline until you're sure a patch is doing more good than bad.
