I think the key phrase is "and are produced by those networks"

I still don't understand why producers don't go along w/ distribution like this. The alternative for most is not more nelson families watching your shows or more iTunes downloads, it is more torrents.

If it airs on those networks and is produced by their in-house studio, it will get posted on Hulu Plus. As I just said, shows like Community and Fringe don't get posted on Hulu Plus and are web only because they are produced by a different studio.

There are a few rare exceptions like The Simpsons (which is produced by FOX) and doesn't get Hulu Plus treatment.

Here is a list of all the content that is on Hulu Plus

http://www.hulu.com/plus/content

And if you scroll through it, you will notice it's all NBC, ABC and FOX shows that are produced by their studios.

Yeah, but look at the season/episode counts. Most of what I wanted to watch from those networks and produced by those Networks was only partially there. It wasn't worth it at all for me.

For example? They post the entire current season of a show that is still airing and it stays up the entire season until the next season starts.

There's a few shows that post it's entire run like The Office, Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, Parks & Recreation.

No shit. Out of boredom at work, here is my entire TiVo Season Pass list[commence mocking] and what's available(save others time in searching):

These shows are not on Hulu+ and/or relegated to 1-2 episodes on Hulu Free(i.e. won't work with the xbox):

Fringe
C.S.I.
Hawaii Five-0
Chuck
Big Bang Theory
Smallville
Community
Mr. Sunshine
Human Target
Happy Endings
How I Met Your Mother
Burn Notice
White Collar
The Walking Dead
Men of a Certain Age
Sanctuary
Mythbusters
Sports Show with Norm Macdonald
Phineas & Ferb
Fish Hooks

Only 4 showed up on Hulu+, albeit with limitations:

Modern Family - 5 current episodes (all s2 episodes on Hulu Free)
Friday Night Lights - 4 current episodes (all of s.4, and episodes 11-15 of s.1 ) *should be noted it's already on DVD and kinda pointless for this one.
Glee - complete current season
The Office - complete current season

So out of 24 Primetime(more or less) shows there are a whopping two shows that have all the current episodes available on H+. What a joke.

Entire current season is a pretty big difference than "most shows" don't you think?

I got value out of it for about a month, mostly from Nova, Peep Show, and some other British stuff. But they have a long ways to go I think.

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines

I get that, but for a service advertising all the great TV for $8 a month, it's smoke and mirrors. Oh, it's produced by x, or it's on y network. You want it on your xbox? Oh you can't do that, Why? You just can't, because we said so. You want our free content on your media device and tv? uh-uh, think again. Why would you want to watch tv shows on your tv? Get real, loser.

Like I said above, the idea of a single hub to collect/offer streaming/on demand television is a great idea... a great idea that has yet to be realized in a practical and workable fashion.

I'm not sure what you mean by this. When I said most shows, I meant currently airing on that network and it's current season. I'm not talking about networks that have zero involvement with the service like CBS, CW. As far as cable goes, It's a no brainer that they will put delays/restrictions since they obvously want cable subscribers to watch it on TV and not be cheap and only pay $7.99.

I just mean you didn't say most currently airing shows and their current season only. Most shows aired by those networks/prod companies implies a lot more content.

I get what your saying, but I don't think it's fair to dismiss the service is junk when you obviously have alot of studios and networks that are not choosing to participate like CBS, The CW and alot of cable channels. Most of the stuff you listed are from networks who aren't even participating in the service.

I'm just saying for the networks/studios that are choosing to participate and the people who watch the content on those networks, It's content is valuable for whatever reason you need it for like catching up on the current season etc.

That's fair and would be great if it were 1970 and there were still only 3 networks. Nobody only watches 3 channels anymore. There are hundreds of channels with plenty of content worth watching. Paying $8 a month for an average amount of content from said 3 channels/companies doesn't seem worth it, IMO. The networks should be working together on this for an uber-service. I know they like money and there are people like me ready to give it to them, so why so much red tape and lack of participants? It's baffling.

Believe it or not, I'm not begrudging the service though. If someone finds value in it, then great. Call me disappointed (especially after this discussion). It's a great idea on paper, but as it stands, it falls far below the line of what it could be based on all the limitations and restrictions.

As it stands, I'll take my month and watch this season of the Office since I had scheduling conflicts this year and get caught up for next season. Oh, and is that Kiefer Sutherland show on Hulu+ or just the freebie service?

So Hulu+ is like Game Room?

It's probably not fair, but I think hulu+ is really hurt by having a better free web version. It makes it hard to swallow, especially as they didn't drop adds either.

Why watch TV at all? To many good video games to play.

It's on both. If you watch it on Hulu Plus on your TV, it's in HD.

I agree with Corvin. I really like what Hulu+ tries to do. It's great in theory. Commercials are completely uncalled for, I would pay more than $8 to get rid of them, not sure how much.

And the content just isn't comprehensive enough. With Netflix gaining a lot of ground on catalog/archive show collections, Hulu+ seems redundant with NF and web-Hulu.

Hulu+ does have that Criterion Collection contract, though. That could be pretty tempting for a lot of people.

re: The official Xbox 360 thread - the console of choice on nuclear submarines

I did download the software today on my Xbox and played around with the interface and it's very similar to Netflix. I also have a Sony BD Player that allows Hulu Plus streaming and the interface on XBox is alot smoother. Obviously I like being able to stream the ABC, NBC and FOX shows in HD, but it also allows you to pick up where you left off. If you can't finish an episode on my Sony BD Player, you will have to start over the next time you turn it on. I noticed on the Xbox, you can pick up where you left off.

That's weird, but I guess my BD players tend to have the worst interfaces. I'm pretty sure the Roku could resume.

Looks like the 5% back for XBox Rewards members did not return this month.

That sucks. It would have been a nice constant and be surprised with bonus rebate months.

Related, it seems like the daily Gamer IQ challenge has officially run out of questions because every one today was a repeat.

I swear, I don't know how they come up with some of the categories for these Avatar Collections. I went to the Vegas Show collection, thinking I might find something appropriate for a Vegas local like myself. Along with the Elvis jumpsuit, I found this, which is not only completely unrelated to Vegas, but seems more appropriate for a pasty ginger from Oklahoma.
