Re: Borderlands

I think explosive damage worked best on Knoxx. Been a while, might have been corrosive. Head shots, too, obviously.

I think there's nothing you can do about the full health regen halfway through, regardless of medics.

Re: Borderlands

I just did Knoxx with a buddy the other night. 61 Siren and I used Corrosive (pistol & AR) and Incendiary(SMG) to the face to make short work of him.

Re: Borderlands

When you guys say you're tackling Knoxx, do you mean 1st play-through or 2nd? And I don't mean of Knoxx, but the play-through you choose from the menu when you boot up the game.

Re: Borderlands

Once I hit PT2, I never went back to PT1. In fact, I'm not sure I even got that extra PT1 skill point from Moxxi!

Re: Borderlands

I did Knoxx solo on P1 just to have 100% XP from it. I've been going through P2 Knoxx with a couple friends.

How do the extra skill points in Moxxi work?

Re: Borderlands

The first Moxxi mission (where you do 5 rounds in each venue) gives you a skill point. One for each PT.

Re: Borderlands

I've lost rack on PT1 & 2 with all four characters. I'm all over the freaking place but have done PT2 with Hunter and Siren, almost done with Brick and finished PT1 with my Soldier. But of course all four are Level 61 so....

I generally do PT1 of main game -> PT1 of Zombie Island -> PT2 of main game -> PT2 of Knoxx

Cool.

Did my first arena solo last night. P2. Not too bad. All the enemies were lvl. 60. Do they scale on P1? I might go back and plow through that first mission to get the point.

Re: Borderlands

I've never had any problems with Knoxx using my Siren. Just aim for the face with a x4 SMG and ammo regen. Constant crits will prevent him from shooting.

That's exactly how it was with my first Siren, but as I mentioned, this time I was experimenting with using Alien guns almost exclusively. They tend to either just do direct damage or shock damage. Hence the difficulty I had with this boss fight.

Re: Borderlands

I'm actually glad Tscott brought up his level of the Eridian Weapons because it's made me take a closer look at them. I really haven't paid that much attention at all especially with early levels like 45 and below. But also because of their quick drain and recharge rates.

One of the best sources for all Borderlands info is this...

http://borderlands.wikia.com/wiki/Borderlands_Wiki

...and I actually learned a bit more about them, their make up, what mods work and don't. Here's a few notes in general.

- Eridian weapons usually deal shock damage, making them great against shields.
- The Eridian Lightning has the same effect as the Jakobs Bessie, in that it has 100% accuracy when scoped.
- Class Mods that increase reload speed also affect the cooldown of Eridian weapons.
- Ammo increasing mods increase the total amount of charge.

This "bonus" map better not be exclusive to the disc.

Re: Borderlands

Guess I can go ahead and delete that Zombie Island DLC I bought because it was on sale and never got around to playing. . .

Re: Borderlands

According to Joystiq, this "bonus map" may actually be a physical, paper map of the world: http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/30/bo...-year-edition/

The package will include all four DLC add-ons, plus a foldout map of the game's territories. The GOTY Edition will be priced at $60 for Xbox 360 and PS3, and $50 for PC.
While that would have been cool to have, it's no big loss I just hope we get DLC4 before the GOTY edition in October.

Claptrap DLC is supposed to be out in September sometime, GOTY edition is October 12.

I can certainly live without a paper map. That's no big loss.

Yeah, I know. It's that word that makes me ask. You never can tell until you have it downloaded

Re: Borderlands

It would be nice if they could get it out before Halo, but I guess that won't be happening.

For some reason I get the image of an 800 pound gorilla stomping toward a person with his penis out...grabbing that person, bending him over, all while that person screams "where the fuck did he come from?"
