Re: Guitar Hero: The One and Only Thread
GH WT and SH both import into Band Hero as long as they are part of the original export and pass the ratings test.
They said they are still working on release more of the songs from WT and SH via import, but I don't have my hopes up at this point.
Metallica has never been mentioned...but with the code on the back of the manual, it is always an option down the road.
I have import codes for SH and WT for 360. If interested, pm me.

I wonder if they are going to charge more and you need the code again for SH and WT? Or will they just update what you already downloaded so that you just have to download it again to get the expanded songs.

They have stated that when (or if) they update again, all you will need to do is pay another small license fee. XBOX Live will already recognize the code from the first import and it won't have to be imported again. The license fees have actually been very reasonable so I really hope they finish licensing the rest and put them up for importing.

I really would like to see the ability to import from GH:M and GH:V. The GH5 engine is so much better, it sucks having to use the old one.

No on can argue that she realized that's what she was giving them permission to do. They need to redo that with a 360 Avatar dressed like The Joker next to him n

Re: Guitar Hero: The One and Only Thread
I realize most of you have long finished GH5, but I just finished GH5 the other night and wanted to complain too. lol
I don't know what it is about this game, but it's just not a lot of fun to play. It has a few really good songs too, but just so much stuff I really don't ever want to play again. And why don't they let you use the drums to scroll up and down a list? I HAVE THE STICKS IN MY HANDS DAMMIT!
The interface is just not great over all really.
The charting is more difficult than RB2 (at least to me) and I actually like this. But ultimately it just doesn't sound that good. I assume this is because one of the star power benefits is making the music sound better, but that's just kind of nuts to me. I mean I guess if you're 5 starring on expert all the time then you'll spend a lot of time in star power, but when you're learning, or trying to move up...not so much.
I don't like the cartoonish look of the avatars either, and the character creator is way too complicated to bother with.
I did like GH Van Halen (would have liked some Sammy Haggar stuff though) because I liked a lot of the songs AND the music sounded good all the time.
I still plan to get World Tour because I really want to learn to play Hotel California on the drums and sing at the same time. One of my favorite songs. (I'm sure the guitar is fun too, but I don't think I'll ever learn how to do HOPOs lol.) Hopefully WT will be more fun than 5 was.

I doubt it's been officially announced but the inevitable Guitar Hero 6 is on the way. Found this tidbit amidst a ton of new Tesla announcements:
This is one of those tracks I've wanted since I got into the games, so it being in GH6 taints it a little, but still exciting. Of course, bands have usually been proven to be wrong, so maybe we'll see it sooner via DLC.
And since it's for a good cause(and semi related), Frank Hannon of Tesla recorded a tribute song for firefighters (9/11/wildfire tribute). You can listen to it free or buy the single by donating six or more bucks. It's a pretty solid tune.
Oh – by the way – ‘Modern Day Cowboy’ is going to be on Guitar Hero 6.
Guitar Hero seemingly receives equal amounts of praise and criticism. Rude offers his opinion. “I teach guitar when I’m not touring and a lot of people start in on that. A lot of people complain, but I think it’s a good thing. Even if people don’t learn to play guitar, it’s exposing them to all sorts of cool guitar-based music that they wouldn’t have ever heard otherwise.” As far as the actual selection of ‘Modern Day Cowboy’ for Guitar Hero 6 went, Hannon explains, “They (the video game makers) chose it. Honestly, there’s some pirate versions of ‘Modern Day Cowboy’ that people have made up for the game out there. They did ask us what we would request. That was one of our three that we wanted.”

Re: Guitar Hero: The One and Only Thread
Activision has said they want to "cut back" on the 'Hero' titles for 2010. I guess they see that the well is starting to dry up for them. It has been said they only want to produce three titles next year (Guitar Hero 6, Band Hero 2, and DJ Hero 2), and focus more on DLC. Harmonix have a huge head-start if Activision just now are going to start focusing on DLC (which I guess means more than 3 songs a week). I don't see many gamers being swayed by this, so it would probably be mostly GH-diehards.
It's funny how in 2008 when the rhythm game genre looked like there was no end in sight, Activision said they wanted to "double SKUs for 2009 and triple them in 2010" or something to that effect. Now they're wanting to drop down to 3 titles (which is probably a good thing). I guess now they can focus their efforts on more Call of Dutys.

BOO Tesla. BOO!
I'm not a musician, but AS a musician, just what is so appealing about GH at this point?
RB has an entire network in the works where you can promote and author your own professional music. Something a professional musician would be clamoring over I would think instead of being pimped by Activision.
I really don't get it. I love Tesla, but I don't get these decisions at all any more.
