Definitely kidding...Thirteen isn't even close - there are TWENTY Foo Fighters songs out for Rock Band add that to 8 Nirvana tracks, and the Tenacious D and Queens stuff and Dave Grohl pretty much is the king of Rock Band.

Not arguing his or anyone's talent. It's just about integrity and respect to both the living and the dead. I have no problem with having these likenesses in the games, I (personally) feel it should be restricted to a realistic setting. Especially if that person is no longer here to speak for his/herself.

Absurd yes, but does his target demographic actually play these games? The mid-30's people that play these games made Nirvana back in high school. Cobain obviously means more to GenX than Cash.

I mentioned it last week when that video first came out. It's only refueled this week because of Love's tweets and the surviving Nirvana members' comments.
Who in Cash's estate is going to bat for him?
As I recall, Jimi wasn't abused in this way in GH:WT.

Yeah, he only played his songs. It caused some people to complain. I actually hated the whole deal where he walks up behind "you" on stage and the brief little "what what whaaaat?" comedy routine that follows. After all, that was actually built in, unlike Cash on drums or Cobain rapping.

Re: Guitar Hero: The One and Only Thread
Which is why they SHOULD have just repeated the same thing in GH5...have KC only used with Nirvana songs (including the ones from DLC or that you can import from previous games), and Cash only with his in-game track and any future DLC songs of his....
How could Activision have been so short sighted and NOT foreseen that a controversy would obviously erupt over this? That's the real question....if a living musician like Shirley Manson or Carlos Santana sign off of letting their on-screen likeness rap PE songs or sing cheesy hair rock, then so be it, but let the dead ones rest in peace, please...

Because it's all about the benjamins.
That's all Courtney, Kurt, and Dave (the only people that really should have a voice in this) want too.

I want to fight you.
If it were up to me, ALL of FF songs would be available... and I'd DL all of them too.
And no, I will not fight you.... over this subject anyways.

Re: Guitar Hero: The One and Only Thread
While I really like almost all Foo Fighters stuff, TCATS is their best, in my opinion. 13 great tracks, and no filler.
And just to update my Guitar Hero 5 story:
I picked it up, along with a used GH:WT guitar, mainly for 3 reasons: free Van Halen offer, Party Play, and beginner mode. Since easy mode is still a little too advanced for my young kids, the beginner mode allows us to enjoy the game together. So, while I admit that the tracklist leaves much to be desired, there are enough fun songs on there for us to play as a family. As an added plus, they can both play guitar, and it's easier for them to pick up the guitar rhythm than the bass line. The only problem now is that they keep talking about how much they like "Sex On Fire".
I also picked up the Rock Band 2 special edition, and will eventually get The Beatles. I'm already enjoying RB2 quite a bit, and while I will probably agree that RB2 is "better" than Guitar Hero, as far as I'm concerned it doesn't have to be an either/or kind of thing.

Activision mulling over a console-free version of Guitar Hero?
"I think what the untethered Guitar Hero does is it maybe equals the playing field a little bit more and gives you leverage with first parties on downloadable content and the business model," says Kotick in the IGN piece.
