Re: inFAMOUS (PS3) Thread
Well, I'm getting bored with it now. I didn't play it yesterday and came back to it hoping it would feel fresh, but no luck. It's a decent game, but just way too repetitive. I'm glad I only ended up spending $3.50 rather than $60...that makes me feel much better.

I honestly think it has to be better than Infamous, unless they totally screw the pooch. I don't know what IGN has to do with anything, but I think its a safe bet that Prototype will be sick. Just looking at the previews, there's so much stuff I wish I could do in Infamous.
I hope it's good, because it looks amazing, but that does not bode well.

Re: inFAMOUS (PS3) Thread
Just being able to do a twenty story powerbomb ensures it will be more fun than Infamous. I saw a partial walkthrough of a mission and it looked great, the consume & disguise aspect has the chance to add immense variety to the missions. I also like how some missions require you to specifically not use your powers, in order to gain intel or sabotage. Infamous just feels very rushed, I'd like to hear the ideas that didn't make the cut.

It looks ambitious as hell, no doubt.
It's just the lack of info this close to release that has me skeptical. Hopefully we'll see some reviews and/or hands-on impressions (or even a demo) in the next week or so.
Until then...

...and Amazon still hasn't shipped my copy of inFamous. C'mon. This is getting stupid. At this rate I'll be lucky to get it two weeks after release.

Re: inFAMOUS (PS3) Thread
Something weird happened to me last night. I was playing one of the story missions and I didn't do anything particularly evil (doing a good playthrough first) and at the end of it, it said my karma shift was slightly more evil. I don't recall specifically what mission it was, but it struck me as really odd.

I played the demo at Best Buy... definitely going to hold off on this one for now as it was fun but nothing I need to buy right now.

Re: inFAMOUS (PS3) Thread
I played for like 30 minutes and really liked the part I played. Of course I'm afraid of all the repetitive complaints, but I heard a lot of those about Assassin's Creed and I really love that game. But well, we will see if this weekend changes my mind.
So far I really love the voice work, it's one of the oustanding parts of the game and something that sometimes is missed in blockbuster games.

I still think this is a $40 game at best.

I'd rather have a climbing/walking on narrow surfaces system that skill based, instead of silver spooned. That is what I hated about Prince of Persia too, its too easy to scale and tightrope walk. Takes the accomplishment of getting to the highest places or navigating a thin rail chain. I liked how Crackdown made you work a little at least to get the hardest spots. Infamous pretty much does it all for you.

Five hours in and really liking the game. Graphics are good. I dont see why people are having a problem with them. It's an open world game, so you cant expect Metal Gear Solid 4 graphics.
Controls are way too easy for walking on what would normally be hard to balance yourself in thin ledges. That doesn't bug me all too much cuz I always suck at those parts in other games
The story is okay so far. Doesn't seem too epic which is kind of disappointing. For those that have finished, does the story pick up later?
I'm really surprised at the side missions. Some of them are better than the main missions.
The biggest complaint I have is with the voice acting for Cole. I'm guessing he was channeling Christan Bale's Batman voice. Just horrible and annoying to hear throughout the game
Other than that, It's been a fun experience so far.

I think the voice acting of Cole is great; really emotional and genuinely torn. That buffoon sidekick doing a lame Bill & Ted impression, on the other hand

I am so evil I have people throwing rocks at me on the street. I have heard:
"Let's teach him a lesson!"
"I want to hear him squeal!"
"Let's get him!"
"Show him he's nothing!"
It reminds me of Superman II when the citizens all rally against Zod. Both end the same way. Not good for the citizens

Re: inFAMOUS (PS3) Thread
I think the voice work is hilariously bad, but it adds some humor to the otherwise dull and predictable storyline. The best part of this game to me is trying to build up wicked high XP bonuses using the stunts and other added elements.
