I'm enjoying this game a lot more than I thought I would. The bad guys seem pretty hard though. Really wish there was some kind of target lock on system. Guys shoot me from all different locations and it's hard to track them. I don't like that bullets can travel farther than my electricity. Maybe there's a power up I'll get eventually. But fun game.

Once you get to the second island can you return to the first island? I'm sure there are some dead drops I didn't get and I'm just wondering if I'll be able to go back and get them.

Do you have the Megawatt Hammer? It travels much further than the normal bolts and you can also get great distance with Precision.

Re: inFAMOUS (PS3) Thread
Beat the game on the good runthrough. Story's kinda predictable, but oh well. I'm only 20 shards shy of having all of them and there doesn't seem to be a way to easily find the ones you're missing. Pretty evil on the part of the game designers. It would have been awesome if they showed up on your map when you'd completed 100% of an island or gotten all the dead drops (or both).
I'm doing the evil runthrough now and I have to say that the evil powers don't seem as effective as the good powers. The grenade especially. Also, Precision seems to use up 4 power cells per shot instead of only two on good. As if that ability wasn't annoying enough already. I also would have liked some sort of ability to make scaling buildings go faster. Maybe a super jump that could have been an upgrade for the static thrusters. The climbing stuff is neat at first, but gets old pretty quick.
At any rate, I've had a lot of fun playing this game, but after the evil playthrough I'll probably get rid of it. Would have been a better rental than a purchase. I'd give it a solid 7/10. If anything, this game may have made me more excited for Prototype.

I just finished it as evil, quite an ending. What a great ride it was. I finished with 32/32 dead drops, 84/84 districts, and 271 blast shards. I think it said I was 82% complete.
This is the fastest I have finished a new game in a long time. I kind of rushed it, though. I won't be playing a good playthrough. I can't see myself going through it again so soon. I'll probably trade it in, and maybe buy it much later down the line when it's $10 or something.

I just started playing this today... I'm pretty much under-whelmed. The graphics are average at best and the controls look to be frustrating early on.

The controls couldn't be simpler. The only complaint is sometimes it's hard to get to a shard because it's wedged in between two points and when you want to drop down to get it, you stick to something else.

Thanks. I ended up finishing that mission last night and, go figure, I already had all the dead drops from the first island. The last mission I passed before turning it off was the armored bus...hardest one yet. I have until midnight tonight to return the rental so I think I'm going to just go for storyline missions from here on out.

I don't understand all that talk that this is too hard or the enemies are overpowered. You literally have infinite health, you're surrounded by electrical sources almost constantly. If you start to get beat up, drain some juice and you're unscathed again. I've never had to hit a non-boss/conduit enemy more than three times and lock-on would make this a kids game. You have tons of sick, powerful superpowers and an almost endless supply of health, not sure why everyone is having a hard time.

I agree. I'm tired of all the auto-target games, especially in multiplayer (I'm thinking GTA4). It makes it less of what it's supposed to be...a game. I never play a game with cheats and auto-target always feels like a cheat. Remember when games used to be hard and you only had a finite number of lives. I can't remember the last game I played that was a real challenge to beat, since the days of the NES. You can tell just by looking at my controller and it's lack of bruises from throwing it across the room (okay, maybe I don't miss that part).

Only on medium!
EDIT: Also, now having played Infamous as both good and bad, on normal and hard, I do think it is better than I thought on first impressions. The gameplay is still shallow, as you can't do much aside from walk around, but if you force yourself to get creative, it can be a lot of fun. I hate the uplink race missions, but I've had fun tracking down the dead drops/blast shards and trying to max out my XP with insane stunt combinations. A great rental, a mediocre purchase, but I really wanted the Gigawatt Blades, so whatever.

Re: inFAMOUS (PS3) Thread
I am so evil I have people throwing rocks at me on the street. I have heard:
"Let's teach him a lesson!"
"I want to hear him squeal!"
"Let's get him!"
"Show him he's nothing!"
It reminds me of Superman II when the citizens all rally against Zod. Both end the same way. Not good for the citizens

Those who beat all the side missions, how in the hell do you make the Warrens uplinks run where you have to cross the river?
EDIT: Nevermind, just got it. That also earns me the Platinum trophy on this one. The game was good, not great. My main complaint is that it was far too easy, even on hard. If they make another one, I hope they amp up the AI a lot and of course, here's to hoping Prototype is more of a challenge. Thanks Infamous, for a fun few days.

Re: inFAMOUS (PS3) Thread
So I put my Amazon.com code (pre-order bonus) for the Reaper Costume for a Home avatar up on eBay. Sold for $20.50.
WTF? If you are willing to pay $20.50 for a pre-order freebie why not just pre-order from Amazon?

Re: inFAMOUS (PS3) Thread
I went ahead and put mine up for $45. Just waiting to see if someone is impatient enough to spend that. The Killzone costumes are regularly going for $55 to $60 and up. I've already made back all the money I spent by selling off the inFamouos beta code, the Uncharted beta code, and the gigawatt blades.

Damn, and I gave my Killzone 2 code away to someone on this forum! I hope it was used, not flipped
So looks like it is worth pre-ordering every game from Amazon that has a Home costume...

Re: inFAMOUS (PS3) Thread
As to the game itself, I'm really enjoying it. I'm subletting an apartment in LA and have to play it on 20" tv (as opposed to my 42" HD back at home), but I still think it's a lot of fun. I'm gonna wait til I'm back home to play through as evil.
It would help if the game at least told you where shots were being fired from. The red dots don't always show up on the map and I find my self just turning and turning (and looking up) to see if I can find them. I do think auto-aim would be too much, but a little nudge in the right direction would help.

Where do you find these codes? I pre-ordered but haven't found the beta code (at the very least).

Re: inFAMOUS (PS3) Thread
If you preordered from Amazon, they also sent a code for a Home costume. If you preordered from Gamestop, they gave you a code for some Gigawatt Blades. If you preordered from Best Buy in store, they gave you a code to download the inFamous demo early.
