Re: inFAMOUS (PS3) Thread
I'm sorry, Fusion, but where was all that gameplay variety you experienced in Crackdown? The game I played had nothing but assassination missions, along with a few optional checkpoint races. Once you found a rocket launcher, the game was an admittedly fun cake walk. I once even had a sub-boss accidentally kill himself from falling off a high platform. They don't even really let you play as a bad guy in that game and it has no story at all to speak of. Don't get me wrong, I loved Crackdown and finished the game (something I rarely actually do), but I fail to see why you feel it's such a superior game to this one.

Re: inFAMOUS (PS3) Thread
Spent about 5 hours playing this last night and I'm having a lot of fun with it. However, I do have a handful of gripes:
- Empire City doesn't seem very fleshed-out. I'm on the second island and there isn't really anything different from the first aside from the enemies (and even then, the changes are mostly cosmetic). There also doesn't seem to be any advantage in actually learning your way around.
- The wall-climbing controls are sometimes annoying, especially when trying to get shards that are on the sides of buildings.
- The missions are already getting pretty repetetive. I don't know if I'll make it all the way through a second round on evil.
- The game is a bit buggy and doesn't look that great at times.
Overall, the one word I would use to describe this game is unpolished. But again, the game is still a lot of fun and is totally worth picking up. I just think the reviews and demo set my expectations a bit too high.

I can see how it could get repetitive. However, I love having a game that I can just pick up and cause some mayhem however I see fit. Same goes for GTAIV.

I can see wild attacks getting you into trouble. I tend to chuck in a few grenades, then do a thunder drop or whatever, then arm the gigawatt blades.

I just got the electric slide power. It was cool and first, but now it's just getting annoying when I jump on the train tracks. Is there any way to stop him from doing the slide?

XPlay just gave it 5 Stars and Sessler called it the Best Game Of 2009 (so far):

Wow I'm surprised at X-plays review, they hardly ever give 5 out of 5. They always find something wrong with a game even if they like it. I think Killzone was the last 5 out of 5.

All the critics reviews are really good. 4/5 stars, A's, etc. But I've always trusted more on you guys, and no, I still haven't played the game, too busy with Wolverine.

I'm not able to shoot through fences either. Has anyone had any success climbing into the "shipping container" compound on the dock? I am seriously stuck and can't for the life of me figure how to get in there.

To be fair, if you did have the ability to shoot bolts of electricity, I doubt it would be effective through a chain link fence.

Well I just finished the first boss and got to the next area. It is definitely starting feel like Assassin's Creed - cool controls but horribly repetitive. I'm already sick of the whole underground substation repetition. I liked getting the precision control but it sucks too much energy.
Not sure if I'll keep or even finish this one.

The overall fun picks up a lot (or at least it did for me) when you get the propulsion power. That power speeds up travel so much. I do wish you could drive, seems like a simple enough addition. Especially once you open up multiple islands, driving should have been in here. I know you can hijack helicopters in Prototype, but can you drive cars?

I'd probably still buy it

Re: inFAMOUS (PS3) Thread
I honestly think it has to be better than Infamous, unless they totally screw the pooch. I don't know what IGN has to do with anything, but I think its a safe bet that Prototype will be sick. Just looking at the previews, there's so much stuff I wish I could do in Infamous.
