There isn't any morality decision-making in the demo, but they do show you how your abilities and interactions change if you're "Heroic" or "Infamous". People will help you out if you're heroic, and run away from you if you're infamous. You can do things like live captures if you're pursuing a good path and draining live energy from wounded townspeople if you're evil. You have different weapons depending which path you go. Apparently the worst thing you can do is go a middle-ground. They want you to pick a side and stick with it.

So I'm about done with the first island. The game's a real blast. I'd say that the only negative so far is that the side missions are pretty much all the same: kill these goons, find this item, protect these people, and variations of these. And the only thing going on around the city are the reapers shooting at you. yawn.

Everything else is butter though. I'm going through the game as "good" right now, doing as many side missions as I can. And if I have the desire after I finish it, I'll play as bad and probably skip most of the side mission (there are also good/bad specific side missions that you can only take once you've committed to a side).

I can say you do fight things and creatures outside of the Reapers. The game really ramps up once you hit the second island.

Really, really strong review from Gamespot. 9.0, but really sounds better than that. If their biggest gripe is those visuals, I'm pretty comfortable with that.

The write-up does read a few points higher, doesn't it?

And the only open-world game I've seen that looks better graphically is GTA IV, and its objects don't require the ability to be climbed or leaped across. For what it does, (verticality, free climbing, platforming...) I think the game looks stunning.

I'm definitely ready for tomorrow. Was kind of shocked to find out that the biggest Best Buy in my area, where I have my copy pre-ordered, was only going to get 15 copies of this game. Way to promote and push the exclusive titles.

I guess it's hard to push new IPs, especially for the PS3. I really thought that LBP was going to set the world on fire, but outside of the established gaming community, it barely registered a shrug.

I am NOT enjoying the sections in the sewers. They're not hard, they're just tedious and boring. I'm on the second island, and they are all exactly the same thing.

It's still fun to roam around the city (especially after getting the jump boosters), but it feels like the game's stuck in a real rut. I hope things improve instead of stagnating further. The fact that the second island looks and feels exactly like the first island doesn't fill me with a lot of hope.

Didn't even realize my copy shipped on Friday on Amazon before I had a chance to cancel so I guess I'll be trying this out after all. Some of the comments in here since then are giving me hope it won't be too repetitive so maybe it will be a good buy after all.

Oh. In any case, this doesn't seem to me to be the type of game where a guide book would really be very useful, except maybe for city-wide maps. Other than navigation, it seems pretty straightforward.
