Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC
Any advice on how to make Jack loyal again? My dialogue tree only let me choose Jack's or Miranda's side when they were arguing. I chose the hot one... not Jack hates me. I tried to talk to her but she basically told me to piss off.

RE: Jack vs. Miranda: The way to have both be/stay loyal to you is to choose Jack's side before you tackle Miranda's loyalty mission. If you already have Miranda's loyalty (and not a high enough paragon), you can lose her loyalty by siding with Jack. But if you don't already have her loyalty, you can side with Jack and then do Miranda's loyalty mission afterwards.

I don't recall having an issue with keeping both loyal, although I was a Renegade and I think I just yelled at both of them.

On future playthroughs it helps to do both of their missions early on and is easier for renegades. One playthrough I was around 40-45 paragon, 35 renegade and was able to use intimidate but not charm. Another time I had around 50 paragon, 35 renegade and was able to use both options. I was around level 18-19 both times too so maybe the requirement goes up after 20.

The cutscene that triggered me choosing came immediately after I did Miranda's loyalty mission. So you really don't get the choice... I guess my Paragon needed to be higher because the verbage was there but it was greyed out. Damn... I was hoping to get both loyal and I hope it doesn't effect ME3.

It wasn't even close to choose.....Miranda's white skin tight leather outfit was a no brainer....loyalty wasn't even a thought at the time.

I think you pretty much need to import a character from ME1 that had their paragon or renegade meter full to get the option that early in the game. My ME1 save was a full paragon and I had the blue option on the wheel and Miranda's loyalty mission was one of the first things I did.

Haven't seen it yet but sounds allot like the one in Red Faction. You could upgrade it to where it would zap several in the same area.....and it was a blast to use.

BTW, if you choose Grunt and Mordin for your party then you essentially have the pair of aliens from Lilo and Stitch.

I was a paragon, did both Jack and Miranda's loyalty missions early, chose Jack, and was not able to regain Miranda's loyalty. I even chose to keep playing after finishing the game; the paragon option was still greyed out.

New character on April 6, though this DLC will cost $

March 11, 2010 - We've seen a number of downloadable content releases so far for BioWare's Mass Effect 2, but the next bit is the first that'll cost you real dollars. No word yet on exactly how expensive it'll be since BioWare's still figuring it out, but it does come along with a number of new items and story bits. The content should be ready to go on April 6 for Xbox 360 and PC.
One of the main attractions of the download is Kasumi, a stealthy female fighter who you can meet up with in the Citadel. After getting her attention and talking to her about the task she wants you to do, she'll become a member of your party. So after you're all done, she'll take up residence on your ship. You can walk into her room, examine all the cool paintings she has on the wall, and fix yourself a drink at the bar. Like Zaeed, another added character through downloadable content, you can't actually engage in full conversation with her, she just talks at you as you wander around her room.
With a dark hook, black eyes, and a cloaking ability, Kasumi is an intimidating character. In battle, she can also pull off the Mass Effect equivalent of a rogue backstab, as she cloaks, moves behind a target, then reappears and whacks the foe in the back of its head with your omni-tool. She'll also offer the ability to toss out flashbangs as a loyalty bonus, and during the mission you'll get a fancy new gun.
You'll be able to access the content regardless of where you are in the game – whether you're halfway through the story or finished. In all we're told it'll take about one hour and a half to complete, and according to BioWare plays out a little like a James Bond mission. First you infiltrate and mingle with the enemy, then you start shooting. Kasumi will fill you in on the mission details on the Citadel, and then you fly off to the location of the target's mansion, which turns out to be fairly lavish.
I won't spoil any of the specifics, but the plot does at one point involve Michelangelo's David. The setting itself looked impressive, as the interior of the mansion looked out over grassy fields, a large expanse of water, and a city in the distance under a clear, sunny sky. Within the residence were a number of elaborate paintings, bookshelves, and other fancy features as guests of the target's party wandered around in formal wear, clinking glasses as piano music played in the background.
Once the fighting breaks out, expect things to get quite hectic as Shepard and Kasumi battle against a number of formidable foes, some of which will lob flashbangs your way. Assuming the price is right, this could be a nice addition for fans of BioWare's sci-fi RPG.

Sweet, sounds pretty cool. This will be neat to add whenever I final FF13 and get back to another ME2 playthrough.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC
So I finished up my first playthrough last night, and I hadn't read anything about the game so I didn't know there were things you HAD to do to prevent character deaths. So yeah, people died in my ending. I'm okay with that, and can rectify that in my next go around.
My only complaint about it though is that it's almost like it's no big deal that characters died. The mentions of your fallen friends are either brief or totally non-existent. Hell, I didn't even know a couple of them didn't make it until I started playing the After M*A*S*S and noticed that certain people weren't on the ship anymore.

Congrads on the finish chuckd21....I should be able to today after doing Legion last night and scanning the whole system his mission was in. I've already scanned everything and done all the side missions. Ship is maxed out on the upgrades, all the characters are Loyal except Jack....turned her down. Now just need to figure out my team and who goes where. Since I'm playing as a Sentinal I've got to take that in account since most of the recommendations have been for Soldier or Vanguard.
I'm leaning to using Tali since I have her combat Drone maxed and Grunt for his "all team members use inferno ammo" ability along with shotgun increase damage. The other is maybe Thane.

Well I finished it today and all went well. Didn't lose anyone and only died twice. before even jumping in i e-did my points and maxed Warp and Reave. I already had maxed out almost everything else except the Pistol 92 of 5) and Sniper (4 of 5). I ended up picking the following for job and squads...
Infiltrate Vents - Legion
Second Fire team Leader - Garrus
My Squad - Tali and Thane, me as a Sential
Second Part
Second Fire Team leader - Miranda
Biotic Barrier - Samara ( was tempted to use Jack but she wasn't loyal)
My Squad - Legion and Thane
Final Battle
My Squad - Tali and Legion ( I thought it was fitting for both of them and plus I needed 'stronger' characters for "Hold The Line") Their Combat Drones drove the enemy crazy and with my Warp at max and Legion's sniper it worked well.
All-in-all a great great game, storyline and balanced action. I'll go thru again but I played ME1 first and went straight to this so I need a break. Only reached level 28 also...oh well

I finished the game last night. Incredible ending and very satisfying. Thane, Jack and Legion died on my team, but that just added to the emotional impact for me.

Mass Effect 2 adds Kasumi pack April 6
Mass Effect 2's Firewalker add-on pack stands poised to inject a healthy dose of new content into BioWare's critically acclaimed sci-fi role-playing game for the Xbox 360 and PC tomorrow, March 23. Following the release of Firewalker, ME2 fans won't have to wait long for the game's next infusion of content.
BioWare has announced that the Kasumi - Stolen Memory add-on will arrive for the PC and Xbox 360 on April 6. Unlike Firewalker, which comes with no charge to users who had downloaded the Cerberus Network ($15 or free with purchase of a new copy), the Kasumi pack will cost gamer $7 (560 Microsoft points).
As detailed in GameSpot's first look at the add-on pack from this year's Game Developers Conference, the pack's primary draw is the addition of the titular new character, Kasumi Goto. Described as a master thief, Kasumi comes with her own loyalty mission in which players aid her in stealthily retrieving information from the criminal mastermind Donovan Hock.
The Kasumi - Stolen Memory pack also includes a new research upgrade and introduces the flashbang grenade, which temporarily blinds enemies. The add-on pack also includes new achievements.

With everything they've given me for free already, I'm ok with a measly $7 for this. Especially if it helps bring more free stuff down the line. I, however, will not be paying $2 for new outfits for Jack, Thane, and Garrus(?) tomorrow.
