Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

I was hoping for 10 or 12 bucks tops

The guy had 0 feedback, and just created his account a few days ago. For awhile there I thought it was a fake bid.

One time the bid was up to $20, and in a three minute span, he bid three or four more times to get it to $25. Later, it was $50 or so, and he bid three times in three minutes to raise it to $65.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

Just got done with my second playthrough and I lost two team mates this time... Definitely more impact if you lose someone. Spoilers, just in case.

Spoiler:
I read the developers comments about Mordin, so I know now why I lost him, but has anyone else lost someone because the biotic barrier failed and the bugs took them? The first time I used Samara and all was well, this time I used Miranda because I had killed Samara. Is it because I killed Samara or does it happen if you use Miranda no matter what?

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

Well I've almost got all my Team Members. Just picked up Justicar with the Assassin before that. Really would like something along mini-missions to try them all out. I'm ready to try both the Assassin and Justicar. Playing as the Sentinal I'm using Jack and Garrus allot. Just like listening to Jack...she's a trip and her Sonic Blast.

I do have two questions...

Scanning and Probes....The first two planets I did I used all my probes. I've read some claim to have used up to 12-15 on some planets. Is this the norm?

Second I picked up some "Sky Charts" because I read somewhere they are useful. Are there like "hidden" systems scattered and these open those up?

I'd only mine a 1/4 of the planet and if it didn't find element zero on it I'd leave. The other 3 are so easy to get you could just mine them as needed.

Yeah the star charts open up new parts.

Samara/Morinth and Jack are the only characters that can get you through that part with everyone surviving

what mrx said - even though
Spoiler:
miranda says any biotic should be able to do it, only samara or jack are the ones that can hold it without losing someone. i believe the one holding the shield should be loyal as well.

It's possible to have everyone, including Shepard, die.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

Whenever I get around to playing it a second time, I was thinking of starting a new character from scratch.

But I just wonder if it's possible to get to 30 in one playthrough and without starting from level 3 or 5 due to an import.

I don't think so. I did EVERY mission the first time, with an imported character and still didn't hit 30. The only time I hit 30 was second playthrough because of the XP bonus.

I don't think it's possible to hit level 30 in one play through unless you start out at level 5.

I started at level 3, did every side mission, and didn't reach it.

Yeah, I started at level 5, did everything (I assume) and only made it to level 30 at the final part of the suicide mission.

First time through, I ended up with a ton of extra element zero, and was scrounging for platinum at the end (I think because I did a lot of weapon upgrades, and I never respecced so didn't burn off element zero that way).

It might be possible if you hit everything but I didn't. I think I got 29 (right at the very end) from 3 last time, and this time, even though I thought I hit everything last time, I've found stuff I missed last time, mostly money and minerals, but also at least one little mission in afterlife for 50 xp I totally missed last time
Spoiler:
poison drink
so there are probably more. Anyway, I'm starting at 5 this time so hopefully can get 30 without as much trouble.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

I'm not anywhere close to playing (or have played) this game as most on this forum has. Heck I just hit Level 12 last night but just loving this game.I'm already planning my second playthru. The sheer possible combinations with your "Team" is endless. I almost wish it was setup somewhat like Bioshock in terms of levels. In it you could play a area, then go back and play the same area using different powers with a total end result.

Just curious to haven't seen much on which characters everyone used the most be it certain levels or thru out the game. Being a Sentinal I've probably used Garrus and Jack the most. With Jack's Shockwave she can easily take down two or more that are together and to see a few bodies flying at once is pretty cool and plus she uses the Shotgun. Garrus has good balance with Guns and Tech. I actually used him mainly in the first game.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

Samara and Thane were who I went with most of the time. I used Mordin, Jack and Grunt a lot as well. I didn't use Miranda, Jacob, or Garrus much at all once my team got bigger. Getting Tali and Legion were the last 2 things I did before going through the Omega-4 relay so I didn't have much of a chance to use them.

In ME1, I used Ashley and Garrus or Wrex most of the time and just shot my way through the game.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

I've only have two more for the "Loyalty" missions before heading down the stretch. I still have about 4-5 of the side missions though. I haven't read to much on the final stuff on your "teams". I'm sure I'll have to figure out who goes where and which are better for which team.

I haven't played with Samara yet after she became Loyal and her "Weave...?" power. And same for Miranda with her "Slam" and plus she gets extra for being a leader.....damage, shields or ammo. Since I'm playing as a Sentinal I'm maxing out Biotic and Tech which helps everyone else.

I've already took care of the ship with the exceptiopn of "Medical Bay" and wasn't sure if it really did anything.

Wait, so all of the new missions are going to revolve around some brand new vehicle-based system?

Good question fujishig.....all new planets or current ones? A bit of ME1 to it? In any case any DLC is welcomed news.

As someone who hated the Mako, I hope these aren't all vehicle missions.

That being said, Can't Wait!!

Samara's Reave is the best power in the game IMO.
