Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

just started playing this and it seems like i've forgotten most of the story in ME1 since its been about 3 years when i finished it and i'm getting lost a bit in the story.

i'm confused about the safe cracking. sometimes i click on 2 of the same pics but it does not register. not sure what i am doing wrong. anyone else have this issue?

Not just to get level 30, but also to grab some more of the achievements I missed, such as doing more missions by scanning for anomalies on planets. BUt since I've been doing nothing but playing this game for a week straight, I might just take a break and get ready for Bioshock 2.

One thing I wanted to point out, in case no one noticed, was how I loved the Omega setting because it was just like the gritty, futuristic noir setting like something out of Blade Runner. And as soon as I thought of Blade Runner, I noticed the background music they have while you're on Omega is exactly like the Blade Runner score, both aesthetically and thematically.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

Finally done. Here were my choices.

Spoiler:
I used Grunt and Legion at my side to kick ass, and made Tali go in the duct. Had Garrus lead the second strike team. I sent Jacob back with the survivors, and Samara to generate barrier. I didn't lose any crew member's in the end, and blew up the Collectors' base. Can't wait for ME3!!

Question about the ending and loyalty.

Spoiler:
Has anyone ever had someone who wasn't loyal to you survive? My last playthrough I only lost the two squad mates who weren't loyal.

That was my reaction as well. I was instructed by my wife to make the purchase. Who am I to argue?

I could see myself going $35, maaaaaybe $40 on that. But I'm going to need your wife to authorize any more than that.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

If it came with an anti-material sniper rifle, I'd spend $58 on that.

The real question is, does that boost your health, your shields, or your weapons damage?

I will let you know. If so...I may as well wear it without pants.

It's bound to give you a negative modifier on your Charisma.

Saw a commercial for this game last night during Lost and they made the game look absolutely horrible.
I'm sure it's just that it was a bad commercial, I know Bioware makes good games.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

second playthrough almost done.....everyone loyal this time...will finish tomorrow...just in time to go back and finish Darksiders so I can get ready for Bioshock....

I am just going to say this right now, not even close.... the best power in the game is Reave...

"The power employs mass effect fields to biotically attack the target's nervous or synthetic systems and disable any health regeneration. Restores health and gives a temporary health bonus when the power is used against organics. Reave also does double damage to armor and barriers."

I did not even think to use it at first, but at another board everyone says this is needed to play the highest difficulty setting, and that it actually makes the game easy. They were not kidding. Cool down time is set at 6 second for Shepard, so with all your upgrades it recharges almost as soon as your old attack is done. The area attack version shreds everything in a 9 foot radius for 160 points of dmg..and that is before all the biotic upgrades and personal upgrades. If they have armor or barriers they are toast..it is freaky how fast they fall.

End result? You throw this bad boy out and then stay in cover as it kills them in 4 seconds. It also heals you up and gives you a temp health boost....I am not joking reave rules...

Yeah, that's why I took Samara with me on the last mission. Using that makes easy work of the Harbingers.

if you bring her and someone with warp..and do a 1/2/3 punch of Reave/reave/warp it is almost ridiculous how much dmg is done, esp with the warp bonus when stacked....it is like using a heavy weapon explosion on bosses....

I doubled it up with Thane's warp and Shepard's slam.

Hmm, in that case I might try it again on Insane difficulty.
