I think I got thru it in 29 hours or so. I did everything except for the latest free DLC mission.

you have to start over right now...Tali is a hot piece of ass...I just know it...and you will not get to sleep with her, and see her face and ass in the third game if you don't save her.
Not gonna happen my man. I have a huge backlog of games and, as you well know, my skeelz at BC2 are below par -- by a long shot
My plan is to d/l some of the forthcoming DLC and wait patiently for ME3. But there is no way I'm starting over in order to pump Tali... I already had my way with Miranda and Yeoman Chambers

I would say you need to play it again just to play as the female Shepard, who thoroughly destroys the actor who plays the male Shepard.

If I didn't have: Darksiders, AC2, BC2, Bioshock 2 and Just Cause 2 sitting in a pile (among other games that are unfinished) I'd consider it.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

Quick question for those who have finished this game (spoilerized just in case)

Spoiler:
Did you choose to save or destroy the Collector technology? I chose to save it in hopes that it'll mean cooler weapons for ME3... but I could see that backfiring and Cerberus being the true enemy at the end of the game

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

Spoiler:
I did both...the first time I saved it, but I did not like the evil eye he gave me, so the second time I destroyed it, which REALLY pissed him off...to me this "choice" thing from the first game really had very little impact on the game other than who was alive and who was dead...and when someone was dead, they replaced them with someone else...Mass Effect 2 is the best game this year easily, but I hope the next game, choices REALLY effect the game

I doubt anyone needs it, but I was given an unused Dr. Pepper promo code that can be redeemed for a ME 2 DLC visor. (Or something Sims 3 or something else, can't remember.)

If you want it, post here and I'll pm it to you.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

Ughhh. My hard drive crashed over the weekend and all the data is lost. I thought I had everything important backed up. But one thing I forgot about ... my ME2 saves. I had played the same character all the way from ME1 too. Damn ... while importing of a old save isn't needed to play the next game, I hope they'll let you specify at the start some of the main story issues (like carried over romances, who survived the final mission, Paragon or Renegade, destruction of the Collector base or not). I know ... I can always play the game over. But I can barely find enough time to play through all the games I want to once (especially these long-ass RPGs).

Dragon Age saves are gone too ... crap

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

Man, that sucks so bad. This is one reason why the April 6th Xbox update can't come soon enough. Right now we don't have any option of backing up our saves so if that thing goes, we're screwed.

I imagine ME3 will have the same sort of "check here if you kill Ashley, check here if you kill Kaiden" type thing that ME2 had. Will it go all the way back to ME1? I guess that depends on if the story needs those decisions or not.

PM sent.

Also, ripped from CAG, the following codes are multi-use, but can only be used once per account. These should be able to be used to get the ME visors and other game thingies.

No kidding - I played female Shepard through ME & ME2 (as my primary character), and when I started a second run through of ME2 as male Shepard, I was surprised by how bland his voice acting was.

I think it was earlier in this thread that somebody summed up the fixes ME2 had very accurately... that they didn't so much as fix the complaints people had of the first one as they did just remove aspects of the game entirely. Don't like the Mako? No more vehicle missions (for now). Don't like the inventory system because there are too many items to scroll through? We'll only give you a handful of choices, with no stats, just equip the latest one and trust that it's the best one. Don't like the overheating guns system? We'll just add "ammo."

Don't get me wrong, ME2 is a great game, but it plays very differently.

I approve of all their "fixes"... I would have also liked a faster scanner for the planet scanning missions.

With the scanner upgrades it does help but I found another way of scanning faster. I simply move the scanner on the planet to the far left and "hold" it there and with the other button rotate the planet in the opposite direction. I used the grid on the planet as a guide starting in the middle scanning every two grids.

Actually about 1/2 to 1/3 in the game I kept a log of the planets, what "element" they had most of and where "element zero" was found the most. I ended up with way too much of all four elements after I finished. It would've been great for them to do more side mission or the when you scanned and found a becon using more of the elements.

Towards the end, I only needed Platinum and had 6 digits of all of the other elements (ended up not bothering with the final few weapons upgrades). I wish there was some sort of "trading" that can be done - like maybe trading 5 or 10 of one element to get 1 of another. It could even be some ridculous number like 20:1 or even 50:1 as a last resort kinda thing - anything to stop spending all of my time hunting for a single element

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

OK, this could end up being an entirely stupid question, but how the hell do you save (Xbox 360)?

I just spent a couple hours playing, imported my ME1 data and was all the way to Afterlife to meet Aria. I had the Autosave option on, and was never given the chance to save in the menu. I'd try unchecking Autosave to see if that opened up the save menu, but it didn't. So, when I finally quit, assuming some autosaving had been done, I decided to load quickly and see where I was saved ... but on the main menu, I have no option to load, just new game.

I can't believe that ME2 doesn't save for the first several hours of the game, so am I missing something here? I feel really stupid at this point, but also very frustrated I have to now redo several hours of game.

Don't you have to be on the Normandy to save? I believe you do it at the computer stations near the galaxy map or in Shepard's chamber.

On the 360 you simply hit start and look at the menu option in the lower left portion of the radial dial - it says Save.

Yeah I save often. You can't save while in battle though.

Yeah, I'm aware of that, just like in ME1, but in my ME2 attempt last night it was always grayed out and never allowed me to save, on the Normandy, on a planet, with autosave on and with it off ... nothing I did allowed me to save. I don't want to start over for fear it will do this again.

it should work at just about any time. Try again and see. I haven't heard about anyone else having that problem.

Strange. I don't know what to tell you then because the only time i haven't been able to save is when enemies are about. I have played about 5 hours so far and have a bunch of saved games.

Well, took another shot at it, doing the same thing and everything worked this time. Very weird, so I'm not sure what happened the first time around.

I really messed up Thane's loyalty mission last night. I had no idea what I was supposed to be doing and before I knew it, a cutscene had played out and the mission was over.
