Fuel has nothing to do with the end. It's basically just a convenience thing so you don't have to fly back to the fuel depot as often.

Spoiler:
the scanner and fuel upgrades help with obtaining extra elements, but, you are correct, it seems only the armament and armor upgrades affect the outcome

At what point do we stop with spoilers in a game thread? It's nearly 900 posts. If you read this far without completing the game, I think you've only got yourself to blame.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

I was just going through my second play through, and came across 3 side quests by scanning planets I never played before. One was really cool where there is a downed ship and you have to investigate the wreckage before the ship falls apart, it's like a giant jigsaw puzzle. I had no idea there were so many cool side quests I had missed by not scanning all the planets.

Yeah, they did try some different things with the side quests, including some where you don't take a squad and you don't shoot anything.

Are any of the anomaly sidequests timed? Meaning are there some where you can scan the planet and not find an anomaly, but then go back later and find one? Because I searched 100% of the galaxy and didn't get anywhere near the level 29 that most people said they got to after one play-through.

Some of the side quests are interesting this time but I wish there was more of an incentive to do them. It'd be cool if people on Ilium, the Citadel, or Omega told you about them like in the first game and you had to report back to them instead of getting an email from the Alliance of Cerberus saying thanks. I didn't do any N7 missions after my 1st playthrough.

There is some incentive, though, since the only way you get extra experience is to finish missions, and there are some upgrades that can only be gotten from some anomaly missions.

True but in my 2nd playthrough, with the improved XP you get for some achievement, I reached level 30 and only did maybe 1 N7 mission.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

Was wondering if anyone was doing allot of second or third play thrus on levels just to try different team members. I still have three to pick up (just got Jack....she's a trip!) butwant to play more with the right combo and try out their abilities. I'm playing as a Sentinal

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

I usually just picked the team members that were suited for the enemies. Tali/Legion for Geth or droids, stuff like that. Otherwise, you get into situations where someone can't use their powers except on totally unshielded, unarmored enemies. This is mitigated somewhat by you being a Sentinel. Otherwise, if you don't know what's coming, you'd need to take Miranda along for versatility.

I'll admit the only reason I ever used Mordin was to get the Incinerate achievement.

Not everyone is on their 11th playthrough like you

Personally, I'd be pissed if I was halfway or three quarters into the game and you came on and told about what happens or what you did at the end.

Some people might be on the fence about buying it, some people might not be able to play but want to read about it, etc.

I finished the game, so nothing can be spoiled for me now, but I'm just saying.....

There's a difference between reading the first few pages and getting early impressions and reading every single post weeks after release though. If someone spoiled the game a day after release it's one thing, but not this far along and with this many posts.

I for one got this game on release day and still have not completed one playthrough yet. I'm 28 hours in and don't have "Pinatatime" to beat it that quickly. I regularly check this thread and do appreciate spoiler tags being used.

I've barely started playthrough 2, thank you very much!

"Pinatatime". I kinda like that attempt at an insult. Yeah, I got the game the week I had no other responsibilities and I tore through it to avoid spoilers. I'm terribly sorry about that.

I just know that I stop reading threads in the TV and Movie forums once the episode/movie aired.

VGs are different because of the rate of progress, but eventually you have a responsibility to protect your own interests when it comes to spoilers. If you're reading new posts in a thread a month later and you're not ready to see the end, is that my fault or yours?

Sorry for asking a question without actually spoiling anything. Go ahead and jump on me.

Sorry wasn't trying to insult you with my pinatatime remark . I just know you're pretty much up to date with all the current games and it's difficult to keep up.

The first few posts of the thread are often previews, and such. Once the game releases is when the good stuff is posted.

The game is not even a month old.

Nobody is jumping on you. Just post spoiler tags if you have shit that may ruin it for others. If it involves plot, quests, story, whatever, spoiler it.

No need for "I just read that
Spoiler:
this game is a sequel to Mass Effect!!1111one"

Right, and you can read up to the game's release and people's initial thoughts and stop. Nothing forces you to keep reading when spoilers start hitting. That's your own damn fault.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC

I almost forgot I had unused codes for the Collector Armor and Weapon, and the Inferno Armor. I bought a Dr. Pepper and it reminded me since the cap had another code for some DLC.

I tossed all four on eBay and the winning bid was $69. The guy just paid for it, too.

Amazing.
