My copies of ME1 and ME2 should be arriving in the mail soon. I'll be sure to download the DLC for both (assuming there's DLC for ME1) before I play through both games. I wanna make sure I have as complete an experience as possible.

There's some DLC for ME1, but... they're not very good. Average at best, and nothing unique.

That's about right. It's an excellent, though relatively short, expansion. Lots of humor, lots of bonuses and additional information/backstory once you've completed the mission, and at least one classic set piece.

I just did the Shadow Broker DLC and no fucking way was it 3 hours. I took my time and it took me just under 2 hours - and unless I missed something, I saw and collected everything. And except for the hardcore difficulty one, I got all the achievements too. But it was quality through and through, and even though it was short, I'd recommend it. It really should've been a part of the full game, or the initial free download from the Cerberus Network that came with a new copy of the game.

My brain almost exploded when I found out Mass Effect 2 was going to be released for PS3...finally.
I loved Mass Effect 1 when my 360 was actually working. My PC sucks, so it can't run ME2 on it

BioWare: Mass Effect 2 PS3 likely to see visual changes
.
Greg Zeschuck, founder of BioWare, has discussed some of the fundamental differences players can expect from the PlayStation 3 version of Mass Effect 2 compared to the original Xbox 360 release, noting there will “probably” be some visual changes between the games.
Speaking during an interview with PSM3, Zeschuck highlighted the fact that PS3 is a significantly different beast under the hood in comparison to Microsoft’s box of tricks – but refused to be drawn in to commenting on what system would house the superior version of the celebrated sci-fi RPG.
Quizzed as to what Sony’s black behemoth offered the Mass Effect developer that 360 couldn’t, he replied: "The important thing is that, fundamentally, [PS3] has a very different architecture. Visually, there are probably some changes - I mean, there are differences in the way the memory is allocated, and the graphical processor is all different.”
"We're not going to get pulled into the argument over which is the more powerful; at the end of the day, they both are, and we can do whatever we want on them. When you create games, you want as many people as possible to play them, so this is a great opportunity to reach a huge segment of the market.”
Zeschuck offered that the game would play “differently,” nothing that something as seemingly innocuous as a control pad would fundamentally change the overall Mass Effect experience:
"It think it will play a little differently. I mean, right from the start, you have a different controller, and that alone will change the way the game feels."
Mass Effect 2 will be released for PS3 in early 2011 and features a special intro allowing those who didn’t play the original title to familiarise themselves with the game’s story.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC - and coming to PS3 in 2011!
I just finished ME2 this morning with all my crew Loyal and alive. But I still have mixed feelings about this game.
Pros:
-ME Universe is "rich"
-Characters in the crew were interesting
-I liked the loyalty aspect of the story
-I liked that the game was slimmed down in terms of some of the more tedious aspects of ME1
-My Female Shepherd imported from ME1 looks like Lauren Graham(Parenthood)
-Grunt
-Legion
Cons:
-Still can only have 2 other teammates on missions.
-Still planet scanning
-Guns and ammo situation is still not worked out with a nice balance
-Old crew has mostly moved on. It's understandable, but it still sucks
-At a certain point the game becomes tedious much like ME1
-Apparently I didn't do enough to get a Lesbian relationship going.
The game tried to hook me up with 2 male teammates while the Females were bitches to my Female Shepherd.
-Hammerhead missions.
Unlike ME1, I'm not even sure I'll play this again anytime soon especially since the Renegade/Paragon aspect seemed to be less important. That said, I'm looking forward to ME3.
Oh well...on to Dragon Age.

BUT, if you did get a thing going on with Liara in ME1, try the Shadowbroker DLC for some continuation of that relationship.

The only lesbo relationship you can get going in ME2 is with Yeoman Chambers, and even that takes a specific dialog tree to activate the first time you talk to her, otherwise it won't happen.

I did have a thing with Liara in ME1 but I doubt I'll get the Shadow Broker anytime soon.

Though I never romanced Liara, I got that DLC. Look forward to playing it. Hopefully they'll release something similar for Ashley (the character I chose to romance in the first game).

Yeah that's what I read. I guess I must've missed the opportunity. As a matter of fact, I think I was trying to get with Jack based on a video I saw. But come to think of it she was actually kissing the Male Shepherd. Shit...

Eh, never really thought that counted since it's not with a major character, doesn't have a special cutscene before the climax, and doesn't count towards the Paramour achievement for romancing another character in the game. For all we know, that could have just been a social visit.

I've never used him in either game but can Male Shepherd romance other Male characters? If not, why not?

Yeah My Fem-Shep was flirting with all three of those characters and I shut HER down quick because I wanted her to stay true to her leanings from ME1. She did pine away looking a Laria's pic; and when she saw her, they did act like lovers who missed each other. She also flirted with Chambers but clearly I chose the wrong convos because that didn't go anywhere.
Bioware was stupid for making Fem-Shep Bi.
