Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC
I don't think it's very important. Both are great games, but I think ME2 will have a lot more replayability than AC2 does, if that matters.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC
What the fuck?
So I'm in the middle of upgrading my shit (getting credits to buy upgrades, and mining/probing planets to get materials to use said upgrades), when all of a sudden, I'm thrust into a mission I didn't pick [swipe]the collector ship mission[/swipe] and wasn't ready for (I hadn't done any of the upgrades yet), so I completely got my ass handed to me during the mission and kept dying. I didn't have any choice in the matter - the game wouldn't let me go anywhere until I talked to the Illusive Man, and talking to him forced me into the mission with no choice in delaying it. I didn't even do anything to instigate the mission, and it was a mission that I'm far too early in the game to play - I haven't even gone to the Citadel yet. I hope there's no more of these forced missions. |
Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC
There isn't. I was kind of shocked by that too, but I didn't try doing anything before talking to the Illusive Man because I was thinking it would just open up another mission I could do whenever I was ready.
|
Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC
Yeah, I thought the same and that it would just open up another marker on my map. Luckily I didn't have too much trouble with it at the time.

Just making sure you know that the option to Land is parallel to the option to Start Scanning. If you hit Y, you can't hit A until you hit B.
I ran into 2 bugs around side quests. 1) During someone's recruit or loyalty quest, I ran across some fake IDs. It kept telling me to find someone that could use them. Looked and looked and looked and couldn't find anyone. Resorted to checking the gamefaqs boards for where to go. Turns out I wasn't the only one experiencing this glitch. Anyway, this bug persisted until after Thane's loyalty quest when the recipients just magically appeared. +40 EXP (finally!) 2) On Omega, there was this Salarian (Ish, I think his name was) that wanted some packages from The Citadel and Illium. I got those and went back to him and Paragon'd him out of doing something stupid with the info. I got the 40 EXP for doing it and the quest updated in my journal reading like it was completed, but the text stayed orange like it was active. It's still that way. The Ish one I haven't gotten around to yet but I've heard other people complaining about that too. |

And yes..I understand that none of that addresses your concern. :p |

The fake IDs are on the Citadel from Archangel's loyalty quest. Once you walk in and pass the head c-sec officer on your right, go slightly to your left then straight. There's some asaris sitting on a bench that you talk to. I did Thane's quest first so maybe there's a glitch if haven't done his yet.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC
I was wondering about the ID mission as well, I was running around Citadel for awhile trying to figure out where to deliver them.

I hope there's no more of these forced missions. in a way, its a bit of added realism. Not that I want them to do it ALL the time but usually we get a mission saying 'we HAVE to get there to save/prevent/ whatever' but WE know its a mission we can pick up after scanning some planets and wasting as much time as we want. Its interesting to actually have some immediate issue forcing our circumstances once or twice. |
Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC
mass effect 2? more like last defect screwed!
|
Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC
I'm with you on that point, Ferris, but wouldn't it have made more sense to enforce that urgency on the previous plot-related mission? It seemed just as time-critical as this one.
|
Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC
I've spent a lot of time upgrading, so by the time the forced mission came up, I have no problem with it. Now I'm doing the loyalty and team building missions. So much to do.
Edit: Is there a way to seduce Miranda as female Shepard? Or is that only if you're male? Because my Shepard swings both ways, and it's bugging me that I can't get at Miranda. |

And while ME2 has it's fair share of glitches and defects, it is light years more polished than the first game. |

Here's a Shepard romance guide for details. Basically, there's only one lesbo romance option - and even that's mostly off-screen. |

That is some bullshit right there. Male Shep is so boring! I'm going to have my roommate play through as male Shep just to see how those play out.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC
I think you're reading his post wrong, slop. "Last defect screwed", to me, means that the final bug was eliminated thereby making a perfect product.

It's okay, he's going to watch me get it on with Garrus. We're close like that.

Re: Mass Effect 2 - 360 and PC
its kinda lame they seem to have backed down from the PG-13 'sex scenes' that got them in hot water in the first game. I thought overwhelming fan response showed that it was ok.
Remember that author who never played the game came in to slam it? And how her book got spammed on Amazon with negative reviews lol |

Cooper Lawrence: *laughs* "......NO!" Actually...the stuff from ME1 wasn't even PG-13 I don't think. Really didn't even show as much as Jack's regular outfit in ME2 does IMO. |

Bioware has said that they didn’t want to have the ME1 love interests as squad mates in ME2 because your whole team can potentially die in ME2 and they wanted the love interests’ romance subplots to be back in ME3 in some capacity. |
