I don't actually have it yet lol. I'm working on getting it and you guys all seem like a perfect group to play the game against. Mop my ass up on the battlefield but joke about it the whole time.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
Several incidents tonight of people talking smack and dying milliseconds later. My favorite was when I landed my Warhawk to capture a zone and Nic took it and starts shooting at me. He taunts me with "Where'd your Warhawk go?" and Chew splodes him with a tank. Chew, without missing a beat says "Where'd YOUR Warhawk go?"

Yeah. Archipelago - what used to be my favorite map - never feels right without Chew guarding the base. Now Archipelago always makes me sad.

Since glassdragon isn't in (perhaps) until next week, let's just plan on another big Warhawk night next Tuesday. Rally the troops. Send the evites. Haggle your friends.
Tonight everyone can indulge their own current vices since we've already got at least one regular committed elsewhere.

We did. Flip, R2, and I put our clan tags as Chw. We played a couple of rounds, nic showed up right after diecast. We were in a lobby where we kept getting crushed so we left. Then R2 invited Nic, flip left, and ktown joined. The next two rounds were much better. Unfortunately, diecast, ktown, and I had to quit right after the 2nd.

We were getting rampaged for a good spell last night. Then I froze, hoped it would return without restarting, but no dice. Restarted, downloaded all my demos from PSN and went to bed.
There wasn't much fun about last night's shenanigans. Glad things improved after I got booted.

Glad there were some shenanigans at least.
It's also good to see that ktown and diecast are still playing in my absence.
Awesome to see that clan "Chw" is a thing that's happening.

I especially liked the part where we had two squads filled with DVDTalkers and friends... and the other team demolished us.
Certainly, I am the biggest late-comer to the Warhawk group and it may seem out of sorts for me to say this, but I wonder if it's time to plan one last farewell night of Warhawk gaming in anticipation of Starhawk and Battlefield 3 coming out. From what I can tell, Warhawk did a great job getting a community started and sustaining and giving it a dignified farewell may be better than watching it slowly die away.
Thoughts on that?

I'm sure I died ten seconds later. That team was brutal.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
I hope to at least get a few weeks in when I get back before we pull the plug, but yeah I think Warhawk might have passed with Chew. I know it'll never be the same for me.
Ktown is probably the only one of my guys who would still be around to jump in...maybe Hunter.
I just pray that BF3 is as good as BC2...and Starhawk feels more like Warhawk than it looks.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
I canceled my Starhawk, BF3, and MW3 pre-orders a few weeks ago. I'll probably end up dropping Uncharted 3 as well. Due to prior commitments, I'm away from home until 10:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 9:30 nearly every other day of the week. I also took the death of Warhawk pretty hard. Seeing people online playing something else when we were trying to get a game together got under my skin. That's not something I hold against anyone. I realize some people greatly prefer Battlefield and Call of Duty to Warhawk and if you like something better than Warhawk, then that's your preference and there's nothing wrong with that. It was just a thorn in my side because I loved the community so much and Warhawk was the core of that in my mind.
I do miss playing with everybody. I might try and get on one weekend soon.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
I know I popped my head in on Tuesday a couple of times between 7 and 8:30 CST and saw that only flip was on PSN at all, so I spent some time with my wife and by the time I came back, there were 7 people on BFBC2.
One question worth asking is whether there's a night that's better than Tuesday for people for something like Warhawk that requires planning/committed attendees. If so, I'll gladly host something on that night.
What do people think of trying a Monday or Wednesday so maybe we can get something going and get Slider a chance to play, too?
I honestly can't keep playing BFBC2 every night of the week. And, frankly, I miss Warhawk in spite of never having been a part of the core group. The spirit of it is just different:
-Everyone can hear/chat with everybody (Slider excepted), so there's no segmenting the group into subgroups of four. I can't help but think that this is part of what created the feeling of community.
-The f*cking near-constant, slightly robotic sounding laughter. It's infectious.
-I even have fun when I'm getting absolutely rolled by the other team. No stress. No anger when I spawn and don't make it two steps before someone binocs me. Just a hell of a lot of fun.
TL;DR We're not quitting just yet. Warhawk kicks ass. We should try Mondays or Wednesdays at 9/9:30 EST.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
I always thought that Weekly Wednesday Warhawk had a nice ring to it! If it will maybe get Slider in, I say do it. We tried weekends when we first started, but I honestly don't think that will ever work. Folks just have stuff to do on weekends, and our bench isn't really deep enough to fill the gaps.
The problem with Warhawk is what excom describes above...the level of group commitment needed to make it work, and the contrast with a game like BC2 where the group grows more organically.
You need at least 6-8 people committed to showing up during the lobby to have a decent game in Warhawk. I always felt like Chew and I were the glue that held the whole thing together. We were always there and usually the first two in, so you already had a base of two people to start with. We also usually chided people to show up throughout the day on Tuesdays, including me at work. So, when he passed and I deployed, it wasn't at all surprising how things progressed.
The other option would be to open the server up to randoms and play as a clan, but we'd have to 1) get a hell of a lot more focused as a team, 2) try to resist the urge to douche up the first few randoms that drop in (unless that becomes the metagame), and 3) accept the fact that if a bunch of halfway decent players drop in, we are going to get WORKED.
