Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

My favorite moment of the night was on archepegleo. R2 was running with the flag while spatula was in the turret at the center base. I went over to him in my warhawk and kept moving up and down so he couldn't shoot me. In the meantime, r2 went through the centerbase and up to capture the flag. After a while, I finally got spatula to shoot, which caused a suicide.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I was pretty fond of the time I played Warhawk soccer with Spatula's jeep until one of his teammates came to help. I didn't really have any other weapons so...

"Hey watch this."

And then they got TOW'd.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I have fun with the douchiness but don't really like the game. Also, I don't ever get the feeling that you guys hear me talking when I do say something. My ping is the highest, guess the RTD between PA and Tx is a doosie. The talking bit is not as frustrating as not having a feel for the maps or the intricacies. Sucks playing a game for the 3rd or 4th time with a group that has played it on at least a semi-regular basis for a couple of years.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I had fun jumping in for the 2 non DLC matches. First match started off and ended douchey - Airmined somebody right off the bat flamethrowed and naded r2 or nic while they were hiding with the flag didn't even bother trying to play the objective and ended the match by teamkilling yawmush - because I could. good times. Enjoyed my bit part - kind of like Steven Segal in Executive Decision.

Do you have "Open mic" checked in your audio settings?

I have no idea and will have to check. Thanks for pointing that out. ...I must, because sometimes I hear an echo of what I've said, and someone said something like... That must be the kids at shumway's house last night.

Yeah you probably need to set the mic to open. And don't feel bad because I've been playing Warhawk for a while and I don't feel like i am any better than when we started. I just like to be douchey and disruptive most of the time.
Spoiler:
And I like to to piss frizby off.

Spoiler:
I know you looked chess.

I didn't think you seemed to be behind the curve at all. The great thing about the Warhawk group is that we're competitive but our first priority is just having some fun, blowing off some steam, etc. The douchiness is part and parcel and if you enjoy that, you should come out more often. Once you learn the maps you'll be on equal footing.

I used to have song ping trouble with chess in TX but it was never aggravating (except on knives and nades). Please come out with us more often and I guarantee you'll have some more fun. And check the talk setting. It always help to taunt your target. Especially before you TOW them or after dropping some balls.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I have no idea what the whole ping thing is.

Shumway, it was hard to hear anybody 100% of the time because we were talking over each other many times. As for being behind the curve, there's definitely a dichotomy of one group who's really excellent and one group who is pretty good (I'm in the latter) that can make things frustrating. Sometimes it's about a) hoping you have at least one of the really excellent players on your team and b) taking enjoyment in killing one of the really excellent players on the other team when you're merely pretty good.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Ping is latency between yourself and the server or host in milliseconds.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Increased latency translates to lag, or a situation where the person that is lagging is just that much further behind the action, i.e. situations where you think you shot first but died, etc.

Unfortunately I'm unable to host tonight. Which probably means no Warhawk.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

If someone gives me a rundown of the maps and games we usually play, I can probably be the backup host. I'd have volunteered last night, but checked the Warhawk thread too late.
