Yeah, most of the time I was just crusin' on my WH... There were ALWAYS TOWs readily available and I barely dropped just a couple of them.
It just didn't felt right.

There's just some tips I wanted to give you guys:

On bigger maps, as soon as you spawn, IMMEDIATELY get on a plane and start capturing bases. They're the key on winning a CTF match, one, because you limit the enemy's ability to get farther into the map and you'll have them competing to get the few available warhawks, and second, it gives you the ability to spawn closer to the flag in case the flag carrier gets wasted en route.
I'm saying this because on my fist game (Eucadia's Summit Command) I captured all the bases and they practically remained the same for the entire match.
Also, with mines, never place mines on the middle of the road. Look for a bottleneck where you know enemies pass through, or narrow places, and place the mines sticking them sideways on a bunker, a wall or a tree, where enemies will not se them until it's too late.
Never put mines close to the flag, where you're going to be defending it. An enemy's charged lightning blast will blow them away, (and several of you in the process, as happened yesterday a couple of times) Place mines instead far from the flag, on the usual escape routes.

Also, NEVER fire a TOW on a target while a lighning ball is still active.
It's called "Suicide by TOW"

Oh, and by the way, it's a four leaf clover, not a mushroom

Infected was cool, but that map was way too large for it. I think "high city" would be more suitable.

I like the critique. Any other advice you can throw at us is highly appreciated.

No TDM on High City...only DM.

The only maps I can think of that will work (small enough TDM) are Urban Strike and the village on Vaporfield Glacier.

I was never on Tormentor's team, unless he came in at the very end of that map and I'm just not remembering it. On Badlands, you guys were a man up and had Tormentor.

At any rate, I don't recall a hissy-fit. For a dude with no mic, you sure manage to complain a lot.

Promising...scary...but promising. I don't know whether you had a slower connection or what, but your Warhawk was doing some funky glitchy kind of stuff last night. I've seen guys on foot do it before, but never a Warhawk. It was very strange.

We are NOT good about this...other than maybe Digi, and I assume that's because he played online quite a bit.

I was watching this exchange from my Warhawk, and it LOOKED like you got Chew with a mine before he planted the flag and then grabbed theirs.

It looked awesome despite them getting the capture...or maybe it was us...can't remember which team I was on.

Tormentor came in like five minutes towards the end of the map. I only complain about what hinders my enjoyment. It may not have been a hissy-fit, but I do remember a lot of "There's no point in even trying," and "There's no point in even spawning." Towards the end of that map.

We were up a man, but someone was on our team and wasn't even moving half the time, I don't remember who it was, but it seemed like they only played half the map and the rest of the time just sat there. At least, that's how it appeared to me as I watched our base with the binocs.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I think we need to open weapons up a bit on Infected so people can use jeeps. Thoughts?

I've been using jeeps. I didn't even know that was a rule.

That wasn't complaining, just a statement of fact...you simply misunderstood.

I took your flag and was on foot with my knife just hiding with it to keep you guys from scoring again. I was just saying that I had no chance of making it across the map to score the flag before time ran out when they had killed Cruz and were telling me to plant it.

If I was desperate and complaining at the end, what was I doing with your flag???

It's pretty hard to take out a jeep as an infected when you are limited to machine guns and grenades.

You seem to make up your own rules from time to time, but yeah, it's been mentioned.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I only make up my own rules when it comes to Nic, Brian, R2, Steve and Cruz. My internet has been down for the last hour, so I'm going to hop on and see if you all are still playing.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Just missed us I'd imagine. Chew, Z, Cruz, Nic, Wiz, KTown, Sean, Ian, and I showed up and just goofed around while we tried to get randoms to play with.

We didn't get a whole lot of nibbles...just a player or two dropping in every now and then, and we'd toy with them until we chased them off. I let all of them kill me a few times to try to keep them around, but they all eventually got bored. There might have been some douchiness from Cruz and Nic as well...tough to say.

Chew and I got sweet "Cowboy" trophies though, and lots of funny stuff went down:

- Pushing Cruz's jeep off a bridge
- Pushing Chew's tank off a cliff
- Trying to fly through Nic and his jetpack
- Nic and Cruz's douchiness in general

edit to add Ian

Generally looking forward to going back to our normal games next week. Mines/TOWs are kind of fun every now and then, but I like our regular rules better.

This

No XP tonight. I still hope we can have some clan play on a ranked server some day.

I had trouble logging in the game. It would tell me it couldn't find the server after several tries. Gave up in the end.

If you really want XP, just jump on a ranked server solo. You'll die a lot, but if memory serves, the official servers run several Warhawk-free maps.

Let me know if/when you want to do it, and I'll join in.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Farking power went out at 4pm and didn't come back on until 6am. It looks like an eco-bomb went off in my neighborhood. Lighting struck a house down the block and blew the power lines right off the building and splintered a tree. Crazy shit. We're even lucky to have our power on so soon.

Sorry I missed out on the shenanigans since it was my idea in the first place.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

You must have me mixed up with someone else chess, I was never online last night. I really had all intentions of showing up but life gets in the way. I have a feeling that wednesdays just aren't possible for me. I will still come on if possible but no guarantees. Sounds like you guys had a few good moments. See you tuesday.

Our rules are much more civilized, Even though after getting more familiar with Warhawk through the weekly game I now have an itch I need to occasionally scratch by going on the pub servers.

I'd be interested.
Maybe we should try to arrange a clan match like once a month/every other month on a Wednesday against a clan or just to jump into pub matches.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

It might be good practice to have a DM match like we had for the lobby this last week, and allow it anything goes. One match, 10 or 20 minutes, on a fairly large map where people can douche it up all they want, and then the rest of the night is just standard rules (and infected and whatever else).

There was one more...was thinking it was you.

Anyway, no worries...see you next week.
