Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

chess, I checked the clan last last night and you were definitely still hanging out in the pending list. I canceled that submission and resent another invite. Not sure what's going on there.

I also sent out new invites to TLWizard and digawok. I jumped into one online game with digawok last night (don't know if he noticed I'd joined or not) when I got home from the hockey game. Just an absolutely brutal pipeline CTF map. I'd been getting destroyed all game. Just brutally, relentlessly owned by this one particular guy manning a tank. I spawned near him while he had a top gunner, hopped on up the tank and knifed the top gunner. I completed my mission by tossing a grenade at my feet to commit suicide and hopefully destroy the tank... but he had just a little too much health left. But I went down in a blaze of glory with the guy I knifed swearing at me for being a cheap shit. And then the game ended and I didn't mind my 17 to 6 death-to-kill ratio.

Only in Warhawk do you get stories like that! If only you'd had a wrench.

I'd bet dollars to donuts that digiwok was the dude in the tank. He's just a bit better than me in the tank, but it makes all the difference. I'd actually be really curious to see how he has his aiming sensitivity set on the tank, because I think mine might be too high for precise shots.

I actually forgot to check my status on the clan this week. I thought when I got the enlistee trophy that I was all set. Are you up to 10 yet?

It definitely wasn't digawok because we were on the same team. I noticed him driving around in his tank and tried to hang around in a jeep for some support but I done got blow'd up shortly after. I think I got a medal for that little knifing too. I noticed that flicker up on the screen as my grenade launched me to the heavens.

I think the clan stands at 8 members right now. There's still about six outstanding invites.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

yeah, I saw you in there. That map blew though since someone grabbed the flag and then glitched so noone could kill him. Was hoping to get some more play time with ya, but I guess I didn't get to playing until too late.

I checked the clan invites last night and didn't see anything. I will check again tonight.

I think I bumped my turret speed up a little higher then the default, but not all the way up. I will have to check. Really it is just a lot of practice as that and the jeep are fun for me so I end up in those all the time with the tank just being my offensive choice. Everytime I get in a warhawk I get owned and I tried to learn it for a while, but still just never really enjoyed it. oh well

Y'know, for me, the tank is the vehicle of choice, especially the foreboding it creates due to its firepower and slow movement. It reminds me of the tank you could use in an old game called Return Fire, where they played the song Hall of the Mountain King whenever you deployed it!

So here's a question - once the clan it set up, what next? Do we go online as a clan against others or leave it in place for ourselves?

Im up for anything...including something I heard about someplace else called stratergery or maybe strategy....I cant remember. While a completely foreign concept to me and generally beyond my understanding, it did sound pretty revolutionary though...it is also supposed to work well when combined with teenwork

Can't tell if you're being facetious or not... Strategy and teamwork work really well on the larger maps.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I usually love hunting tanks, but I think digiwok is going to keep me a bit more honest.

I figured out my clan problem. I'd actually already created a DVD Talk clan and had forgotten about it, so when I looked, I thought I'd already joined up. I'm in there now. I'm not sure we're anywhere near ready for primetime, but I think rolling in on somebody with ween in a tank and me in a warhawk would be a bit scary.

Strategery FTW!!!!

facetious However my PS3 online gaming history has purely consisted of going Rambo so I certainly wouldn't know

When's a good time this weekend to figure out this clan thing? I have no idea how this goes, but I figure we'll stumble through and maybe even eventually win a game. We'll assign some roles on the board here. I'll actually honestly really break out the bluetooth headset so we can get a little more communication and everything. Has anyone here participated in some clan matches? How do they generally work?

Is that what happened? Hell, I thought the dude was just being a huge prick.

I only signed on for just one game because I was spent. Playoff hockey is just exhausting. I can only imagine how the players feel.

Good deal - I told ya! The way clans work are just like teams in sports. Our clan can issue a rivalry against another and have a game where we all play together as our clan against them. Next time we play a level, let's state that we're practicing strategy for that round - if you can, enunciate what you're doing and why. Practice is the key - we can even come up with strategies we can try out on each other and then implement them as a clan. One clan used tanks and created a phalanx of them that just rolled into Eucadia and took the other team out!

BTW, my specialty is covert ops, so gimme a sniper rifle and some cover and I'm set!

Awesome, let me know a night guys. Sundays might be best for me. Infact that would be best as thats always been my "do nothing" day. I have a headset but I always jam to music now when playing. Ill give it a go to coordinate though.

I was playing earlier and I think I saw you ween! We were on the same damn team! I dont know how you got all those flags. I kept going for them and some bastard kept killing me. Than Id make it and there was no flag. Cause of you! I think you even let me go infront of you once, I hit a mine, and you got the flag.

I'd be up for a weekend game as well. I'd like to keep Tuesday as it is though. Just us playing at a fairly relaxed level and having a good time.

We're getting a consistent group of people who are fun to play with, and I gotta say, I'm pretty excited about it.

flip: send eroc79 a clan invite.

I'll get eroc that invite. I always meant to do that.

And I want to reiterate what chess said. Tuesday is the real Warhawk night. Anything else is just gravy. The clan was only meant to be a fun diversion for those addicts that can't get enough on Tuesday. And I thought it would be fun to try some tactics and strategy with the personalities we have on board. We've been playing together long enough to know where we can all fit in. And if you still feel relatively new to the game (I know I've logged a good number of hours and I still feel like a silly noob), don't worry about being canon fodder -- it's still just fun. Also, a reminder -- just because I'm officially clan leader at the moment doesn't mean I know anything about what's going on.

So I guess that was you. I joined the clan last night and was looking for a game to play with a clan member so I hoped on in. The only reason I got those flags was because of you, you were doing awesome snatching them from the other teams base. You just had the unfortunate luck of getting shot on your way back to base and noone else on our team was paying attention to get the flag, so I went after them...after you dropped them of course That is my least favorite map though because it is so friendly to warhawks and unfriendly to my beloved tank. Good playing with you!

No, he was being a prick. He intentionally glitched just so noone could kill him. Gotta love public matches.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Hey ween and chess, I see we're all "locals" being Texans! And on Ravenous' note, that's where good teamwork comes into play. I used to drive jeeps or tanks (depending on the map) around during CTF to pick up the players with flags and shuttle them back to base. It's not always about grabbing the glory for yourself per se, although it is fun of course!
