Re: Rock Band: Official Thread

I guess if they had to release SpongeCrapSquareWhatever, releasing it with a Great Journey Song and a good PB song was the right time, i will overlook it because I WONT STOP BELIEVING

EDIT: Woah... that Von Bondies song is the song from Rescue Me... That song rules... One of the better weeks even with the kiddie songs in there.... Hell Yeah

Oh, and the Von Bondies song is the theme for the show Rescue Me.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread

Color me deeply confused about Spongebob, and I was hoping the Pat Benetar song would be "Love is a Battlefield" since I already have Heartbreaker (or at least I think I do).

But I'm on board with Journey. I'm not a fan by any stretch, but it looks like a fun party song.

Spongebob is just the next natural progression under the Viacom umbrella.

There are a lot of Spongebob songs that would work in Rock Band. Even if they were by other artists. Check the movie soundtrack: http://www.amazon.com/SpongeBob-Squa.../dp/B00064AEL0

Clever throwing in the Von Bondies song since Rescue Me premieres next week.

In for that, Journey and Benatar. No need for Spongebob.

I dont understand why these kits arent fully compatible with these games now. Or is RB to blame for this incompatibility? Isnt it a simple MIDI out thing?

Oh wait there is money and corporate IP involved, compensation, rights and all that legal stuff. Meh forget it.

Seems silly that you cant hook up a $1K or a $5K pro drum kit and play a silly little game with it.

See I was thinking more along the lines of pairing them up evenly. Since the Boston pack only has 6 songs, I'd compare the top 6 from the other packs to it. So in that case it weeds out some of the dull stuff from the other packs.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread

Glasvegas is a great band -- one of my favorite albums of last year. I'm ecstatic to see them in Rock Band. I don't know how much fun the charting will be for "Geraldine" but I'm in no matter what. It's always fun to imitate the Scottish accent for vocals. Looks like I'll pick up Journey, Glasvegas and maybe the Von Bondies (I'm pretty sick of hearing this song on the MLB network). I still have to pick up the two New Porn's tracks from last week too.

Two great choices for the alternative songs...but Journey and PB should be pack worthy artists.

Benatar's Best Shot was released just a few weeks ago on 2/5. I don't know how people can say they aren't apparently moving away from the discounted 3-packs

Seems reasonable except that you pay for the rest of those other packs. I guess it would work if you only paid for the best 6...which I actually did for The Who. The other thing with Boston is that EVERYBODY, whether they know it or not, loves Boston...so it's always a hit at get-togethers.

And besides, who wants to argue about what the best 6 are in every pack?

For PJ, since Alive is already on disk, I'd have to go with Porch, Evenflow, Black, Jeremy, Once, and ??? (might need some time to fill in that 6th spot)

Speaking of packs, what we really need now is some movement on a MUSE pack!

Is it too much to want Benatar's "Invincible"?!

FAIR IS FAIR!

I'll be picking up the Journey, Benatar, and VB. C'mon C'mon is going to be fucking awesome!

There is no question they are doing this...

I love the eclectic weeks...but when you have certain artists (like Journey and PB) where it is really, really easy to come up with a 6, 8, or 12 pack...do it.

Sole reason why I will never get rid of GH 3 (and MCR in GH 2).

It surprises me that they aren't getting more love as Hysteria plays awesome on expert guitar.

Perhaps I'm misinformed, but those both look like 3 pack artists at best to me.

With Journey, you lose me after Any Way You Want It and Don't Stop Believin'.

Pat Benetar...I s'pose I could get to 6. Hit Me, Heartbreaker, We Belong, Love is a Battlefield, Invincible, ???

Easily get to 6 with PB. (Love, Hit, Shadows, Belong, Heart, Invinc, Fire, etc..)

Journey? Even easier. (Separate, Only the Young, Wheel in the Sky, etc...)

I love Muse, but have found all the DLC, in both RB and GH, to be mixed horribly. I've had to crank the sound and turn off the background noise for all of them to even hear the vocals. Didn't notice the problem on "Knights of Cydonia", but I have on everything else. Maybe it's just me. That being said, I would still buy everything they put out.

Fair enough. Journey might be one of those bands that I know their songs but not by name. Don't they have a ton of cheesy power balads...sort of like Chicago?

I've noticed that as well. The GH3 DLC overplays the guitar (understandably, I guess). I haven't played Assassin on GHWT. Hysteria sounds OK to me on Rock Band. With KOC, I just don't enjoy the song all that much.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread

Journey is just a godsend, and "Heartbreaker" is worth the $2 for me to have it in RB. I do wish we'd gotten multiples, too.

The ones-ies make me worry about the inevitable Styx/REO/.38 Special stuff. The rumor is that the new Styx/REO collaboration song is going to be DLC, so I worry they might round out a pack with one each and maybe even skip .38 Special altogether. But I guess we'll see.
