What do you mean you aren't getting your order? You paid for it right? Mine still says shipping on 11/16. Looks like I'll be a week late to the party.

I have Prime and I'm supposed to get release day arrival. I called in and someone said they had some problem that affected 130K orders. I guess mine shipped today and will arrive tomorrow. Just a little miffed that orders placed later than mine actually got their release day arrival.

It would be interesting to hear what everyone did on THAT level. I shot up TVs and newsstands and fired on as few officers as possible in order to complete the level. I couldn't bring myself to do anything else. Pretty effective level.

Mine was waiting for me when I got home. Amazon Prime/release date delivery. Were these the standard version or the tricked out ones? Also, is this an across the board delay or a console specific screw up?

I am surprised at the level of sensitivity regarding that level. I'm not ax-wielding murderer psychopath or anything, but I shot the hell out of that airport and everybody in it. It's just a video game, guys. Haven't any of you played Grand Theft Auto? This is basically the same thing, just bigger characters.

I ordered the standard edition on the 360. I saw some posts elsewhere about people not getting theirs. I used some trade-in credit toward mine so I don't know if that affected it or not.

Well, in GTA a lot of it is so over the top it's easy to dismiss. This is played totally straight from the first person. I wasn't appalled at the content but for me it was just as easy to not shoot them than to shoot them.

Re: Activision announces Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Well, the next level was the airport level. I had seen a brief video clip of your character walking past stores so I assumed it was a mall.

Anyways... I'm not a person to be sensitive to stuff like that (at least not in the past) but it felt odd shooting civilians. I did headshots when needed to put them out of any pain and I mostly shot at windows and doors.

The favela level in Brazil was really tough. Once I got my bearings it was a bit easier.

It was weird when I saw a guy crawling on the ground during the airport level. I ended up killing them, but somehow it just felt wrong.

I haven't played the game yet but the airport scene sounds disturbing. It's something i thought the media would've picked up on and go ape shit over. What i dont understand is the game "Six days in Fallujah" cause quite the controversy so much that it was canceled. This sounds much worse and not even a blip on the radar of news outlets???

Re: Activision announces Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

As for "The Level That Must Not Be Named" I just practiced my marksmanship on various TVs, magazines, and what-not. Since you're physically compelled along it felt more like a cut-scene than anything else and I certainly didn't feel emotionally invested in any way.

The sheer lunacy of the "Wolverines!" level more than made up for any discomfort from previous levels in my opinion. I'll be replaying that level a number of times just for kicks.

And I'm kind of glad that the SP is fairly short as I feel the need to complete that before I do any MP and I really want to get to work on MP.

Still haven't bought it, not sure if I will or not but I do have a question....On either IGN's or GT's video review (can't remember which one) they mentioned there is a "3rd person view" and showed a brief clip of it - can you switch to 3rd person mode anytime you want? if so, is it just in mulitplayer?

Re: Activision announces Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

So far, for me anyway, this game has got to be the most all-out 'balls-to-the-wall' fps I've ever played. As good as MW was, this has been absolutely unbelievable. I just finished the level in Brazil (which is basically a gauntlet with tons of weapons to choose from), and that was a blast. Even while you're moving from point a to point b, there is a lot more going on than in the first. Of course, I expect it to have some different missions, but so far, its crazy.

Also, anyone get a HOLY CRAP moment when
Spoiler:
the Russians started bombing the United States? I just started, but running through a suburb and launching rockets off a Burger King towards the TGI Fridays is just an absolute blast.

BTW, I LOVE dual-wielding hand guns now. Its a blast mowing down enemies with two guns at one time.

Awesome game so far, and I cannot WAIT until I finish the campaign and dive into multiplayer.

I missed the intro and didn't pick up on the fact that the ground war was happening
Spoiler:
within the continental US until I noticed the restaurant "fronts". Just a tad awe inspiring ..not to mention the airport shootout. My jaw just dropped.

Find the dual-wielding Uzis yet? Nice add-on but I actually prefer sighted weapons. And it was funny just how many shotguns/(various other weapons) available in the early levels. I counted 4 different types of shotguns alone by the fourth level. A little too much variety but what the Hell.

So far I'm impressed as anything with the environments. I jumped into a couple MP matches (Airport and something else) and the terrain is unreal with various positioned height advantages. Just when I had most maps down in COD4 jumping into this one is going to be a challenge .....

What's the difference between normal and Hardened? I thought it was just difficulty? Is there actually more content?

This game is addicting and well paced. I got through to Act III in one sitting.

I just found my first piece of enemy intel. Man they hid those things really well as I didn't run into any of them until late in the game.

Hardened is really hard indeed.

I started playing the game today and I've played around 3 hours of actual gameplay and I just started the second mission of Act II, so I expect to spend at least 10 hours with my first run. That's fine, in COD4 I got stuck in one the final missions in Act II (or III? not the last one) and it took me more than a year and half to pass that part.

About the airport scene, I just walked behind everyone, I didn't shoot anyone, not for any particular reason, I just didn't want to miss any action.

Same content. The difference is that in normal you repeat the same scene 3 times, and in hardened 10 times.

Man some of you guys are babies...I for one CAN'T WAIT to get to the awesome level and kill me some innocents. I'll most likely play it a few times if it's a s fun as it sounds. It's an M rated video game people...it should be bloody and over the top. If I'm killing civilians as a terrorist, so be it...it's the same as playing a bad dude in fable or something.

Mixing in the SP and the MP so far. The MP levels are great. As some mentioned, a lot more three dimensional. The airport is my favorite so far, but the small one in the howling desert is a close second. I don't like the Favela MP level: I can't make heads or tails of it yet.

Let me guess - the assassination mission in Chernobyl where you have to run back to the LZ, only to be pinned down by sixteen thousand soldiers? That's the only mission I never finished on hardened.

No, you got maybe 4 hours left, 5 tops. And the toughest section (Rio's Favelas) is behind you.
