Jesus...

That's not going to play well in the mainstream media, regardless of the intent.

Shit...my order didn't ship from Amazon...supposedly they had some screwup affecting thousands of orders. I ordered mine on 7/16 and I don't get it. I ordered a copy for my bro-in-law so he could use my prime, and of course his ships and is on his doorstep. Bullshit!

Play it on one of the advanced difficulties (Hardened or Vet).

Though Vet would be substantially easier as a second go-thru.

Hardened is 6 and a half, and unless I'm mistaken that time does not include Spec. Ops.

Re: Activision announces Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

I heard it takes about 5 hours on Normal. I'm playing it on Hardened, and that seems like it will extend the play time quite a bit. At any rate, since there's the co-op and multiplayer too, I'll gladly take a tight single-player experience packed with memorable moments instead of a longer story that's repetitive or wears out its welcome.

Hadn't even planned on getting this right away, but was able to PM the TRU $20 GC deal at Best Buy, so for $40 I figured why not. Haven't played any CoD in months, so I'm sure I'll be very rusty.

Re: Activision announces Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Be careful what you ask for. Call of Duty 3 had the longest single-player campaign of the series, and some of those missions were interminable.

Haven't gotten there yet (the mall level) but will get there soon, I imagine. I don't mind a shorter campaign if its in lieu of Halo: Combat Evolved type levels where you keep doing the same thing over and over

I didn't even bother trying to get thru WaW and stuck to multi-player.

But it's single-player campaign is much, much more re-playable than any 10 hour game. Just you'll have just as much fun on your 2nd time as your first, and violla, 10 hours.

There's not mall level - there is an airport level though. I'll say it again though; that level has to be as brutal as it is, or else the story couldn't go to the crazy places that it does with any sort of believability.

I got the delivery notice. It says "left at door" which is fine. It still said expected delivery date of 11/11, but I guess it's just an estimate. fwiw, mine shipped last evening from DE (to VA).

I think I'm going to start on Hardened as well. With past CODs, I've done Normal, Hardened and Veteran, but I don't think I need to whip through on Normal only to start over in 5ish hours. My amazon release-date delivery came today, so I'm good to go...

But I guess this scene has to happen or else the story couldn't go where it does in any other believable way
Actually,

Spoiler:
The first row of police with riot gear have to go down because they are blocking your path. But you can pick up the riot shield and ride out the rest of the level.

Or, and this what I did, aim the grenades past the police. Still looked like I was shooting off grenades but was a lousy shot.

So... what system did everybody buy MW2 on?
I went with 360, as that's my system of choice for online gaming.

Re: Activision announces Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

I got Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare on the XBox 360 since that was the only system I owned back in 2007.

So the OCD in me decided to get Modern Warfare 2 on the 360 as well even though I now own the PS3.

Did the same thing with Condemned 2: Bloodshot.

That one took me a long time to get through.

Also, I got it on the 360. I strongly prefer Xbox Live to PSN when it comes to multiplayer.

360 owner here. Haven't been able to fire it up yet since I'm stuck at work for another half hour.
