Maybe it's because I can't ever play that well, but something about that footage looks like the player's cheating, either that or he's gay...

I am trying to play co op with a friend and every time we send an invite to each other we get

"Lost connection to the other special opps player for 12 seconds"

we tried rebooting our 360's, we can both get on to multiplayer - so it's not our connection..

has this happened to anyone?

I added DVD Talk Gamers to my friends... the request is pending. The Avitar is a girl..

will this allow me to see all the dvd talk gamers? if so how?

I think he just got lucky and happened to hit someone that was running.

Check your connection to XBox Live, using the Test Internet Connection feature on your XBox, to make sure you don't have a NAT problem. Have your friend do the same. If one of you get a NAT error, try rebooting your router and/or modem. You can find more info on how to troubleshoot/fix NAT issues by using google.

I've been playing online quite a bit and have decided that I'm only going to kill with the knife (or drop boxes if I can steal one). It's actually quite a bit of fun. I have the Marathon Pro perk, the Lightweight Pro perk, and the Melee Pro perk (not actually what it's called, but it lets you knife faster). I just sprint around the exterior border of the map and knife the shit out of people. If I encounter someone head on I try to weave back and forth while getting close to them and throw the knife in their face ( which only works about 30% of the time, but it's great when it does ).

Finished the campaign tonight in just over 6 hours. I can't believe the step down the narrative took over MW1. This whole thing felt like a Michael Bay movie.

It may be a combination of the 2 of you having NAT settings that are not compatible.

I know i'm missing something obvious somewhere , but how come I don't have a minimap visible on screen showing targets,enemies etc.?

Anyone else pissed that there is no Free For All Hardcore? What is up with that? I know it wasn't in MW1 but it was an awesome addition in WAW (the only real improvement that Treiarch implemented in my opinion). Anyway, that is my only complaint about this game so far.

Because there is no mini-map.

The game shifted to a quarter compass near the ammo/flashbang/smoke/frag indicator for the HUD. Enemies now showup as waypoints and are painted as Targets. Your leader is painted as Follow.

I like the multiplayer alot more than the last 2 COD efforts. It may be the maps, but I'm having a blast even though I suck. I don't really understand what everything does, like UMV's & drop shipments, but I'll figure it out soon enough (I hope).

It's a blast, isn't it? I've always been a terrible melee type player in the past, but I actually do decent now with these perks, and it's fun as hell. Marathon, Lightweight, Commando, throwing knife, and now I have dual UMPs. I am worthless from a distance, but I surprise people all the time with my speed and in-close fighting.

I love when starting out a game, I just sprint all the way to the other side of the map, and there's always a player or two who you catch by surprise for getting over there so fast.

I my kill ratio is still below one, but I'm having a blast.

Sounds like I need to MP with you lot - I gave it a shot today and I sucked.

Anyway, I finished the single player today. I think overall it took ~7 hours. I'll have to check the stats screen next time I'm on. I really enjoyed the game and story. I have not played any of the other CoD games before except for a few minutes here and there at a friends or the store. Probably made it more original to me. I gather I may have gained more from the story had I played MW1, but it wasn't necessary since I followed must of what was going on. This really was one of the most high paced games I have played before. It almost felt like you were in a movie! The score, story and pacing were certainly top notch!

I think the part in downtown DC with the lighting is one of the most graphically intense settings I have played in a game. I wish it had been longer! I'll echo others said about the Brazil level - very difficult. I also found the escape from the house with the download device very difficult. I know it was only 150 yards, but it took me a good 15-20 attempts to get through. Then the kicker is the "award" you get once you reach the field.

I did have a few issues:

Much like Halo 2 I'd say this really leaves the door WIDE open for another addition. You do get more closure to the overall story than Halo 2, but there is plenty left dangling that merits a sequel.

So far I'm not really sold on MP (too much going on), but I'm definitely looking forward to playing through on co-op with some friends!

But you pay for the 'Live' stuff, there can't possibly be a problem with it.
