Not digging the way characters look. It's hard to put into words, but they have this bulky, cartoony appearance that I don't care for.

I've been beta'ing SW:TOR for about a week. Played several different classes (mostly Sith, much more fun IMO)

All I can legally say is make sure you've got your pre-orders locked in NOW.

And "Holy cow!"

If anything has a shot, this game does.

I'm seriously addicted to it thus far. As far as MMOs are concerned, I've only ever played WoW and City of Heroes (some EVE back in the day). This one is gonna be big, I think. It's Star Wars, sure, but it's (thus far) a VERY well made and extremely fun MMO first and foremost.

I also like how intuitive the UI is. If you've played WoW, the feel of it is very similar, but with enough identity to keep it from being a clone. Very easy to pick up and run right out the gate.

It's too bad they aren't offering a mid-tier collector's edition that let's you get all the in-game goodies without all the plastic junk. For $150, that thing better be hand-delivered by a model wearing the Leia bikini.

Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic

I want in on the beta, but I guess I'm not special enough

Would be nice, I have beta tested just about every blizzard game that has come out since the first diablo (that includes the original Wow and all the xpacks), only one I didn't test was SC2

Nope, he was dead serious and he definitely doesn't pay 15 bucks a month already for World of Warcraft, not at all.

Interesting. What I have seen so far has looked pretty weak and just last night I had decided I was going to go ahead and cancel my pre-order, but I guess I will keep it. For now at least.

Haha, actually I don't, at least not right now. I've been MMO free for a while now. I'm basically done with WoW, probably forever. Besides SWTOR, which I'm totally stoked for, there aren't really any MMO's released or coming out that I'm interested in. Except possibly The Secret World.

My post was just made to replace the other idiots that feel the need to spam this thread about how they are PISSED that it is an MMO and SHOCKED that it has a monthly fee, and how they will NEVER pay a monthly fee to play a game.

They are:

http://www.swtor.com/preorder?intcmp=eaint593

Digital download only, via Origin (EA's version of Steam). $80 for the Digital Deluxe with all the online goodies, minus the in-game store and the mouse droid pet.

There you go. Not sure that stuff is worth $20, but at least it's out there as an option.

My brother got in on beta and I got to check it out. Enjoyed my time with it, even though it was short. Will definitely be playing this at launch. Bye-Bye WoW!

How's the Imperial Agent? I'm thinking of going for a healing type to start.

Fuck. I don't have the time to invest in this. Especially not with Batman coming out.

I'd buy it during my next school break, but then Skyrim will be out and there's no way I'm missing that.

Im dying to. It will probably be my next one, at this point Im just trying to elevate my Commando Trooper as far as i can to see more mid and lategame content.

Unfortunately the 'cover' system is still bugged, so my ranged dps has to stand out in the open. Nuts!

I also have to say, the Companion system is fantastic for players who enjoy solo'ing. My Sith Sorcerer heals, so her companion is a big brute who tanks mobs. My Sith Marauder is a scrapper type, so his companion does ranged dps. And so forth. Plus they will disappear for 60 secs whenever and whereever you are to sell off all the junk items in your inventory. Nifty!!
