I regret selling this game back - it has one of the best end boss battles ever.....use to throw it in every now and then just to replay it.

It's a game that I played for a few hours and never got back to - no real reason besides just not being in the mood for a scary intense game. What I played was solid - I'll have to get back to it soon.

Re: Dead Space
My friend finally a) showed up to a poker game and b) remember to bring me this game about a month ago. I played through it twice for the full 1000/1000. Even on Impossible/Insane/Whatever it isn't THAT bad.
Great game and I cannot wait for #2. What little I've seen has been awesome and I expect much more at E3 in 2 months.

I got stuck in this game back when it first came out at the part where you have to:
Anyway, when I finish FF13, I'll probably go back and take another run at this, starting from the begining instead of trying to pick up where I left off.

I'm glad somebody bumps this every now and then, because it reminds me to commit to finishing this damn game. This weekend, I'm gonna tackle it.
After running aimlessly around in Red Faction, I need something linear.

Re: Dead Space
played through the 1st level and i am really liking it so far. love the collecting/exploring aspect, the unique way to kill enemies, the emotion. just really excellent production value.
question about the DLC from xbox live:
when you download the weapons upgrade and new suits, are those immediate changes to your character, meaning i would assume you would go to the store and click that option or do you still have to pay for them in the store with credits?
and if i get say a Level 5 suit, but only on level 2, do i have to wait until level 5 in order to get?
and are these things considered cheats to the game and best used after a first playthrough?

easier answer: you can implement the DLC upgrades at anytime at the in-game "store".

Re: Dead Space
has anyone actually downloaded some of this stuff (suits, weapons) and can comment on worth it or not? is purchasing these considered a cheat?
also, anyone dl the free Dead Space comic and can comment if it is worth the time to view, is it a spoiler or does it take place prior to events in DS?

Re: Dead Space
1. No. Downloading the suits is NOT a cheat.
2. I think the Military suits are the "best" but it's been a while.
3. You must DL them then equip them in the store
4. Here's a great walkthrough for you with descriptions and opinions on weapons and much more.

1. The DL comics are all meant to give you an idea of what happened before things went to shit. There are no spoilers.

Re: Dead Space
As far a getting a pack early and thinking it a cheat, well, to each their own. But how is that any different from using the DLC when you get stuck?
They offered a free Elite Suit when the game was released. Some of the DLC is cosmetic so you can look like a badass.

we'll see. the one i had my eye on was the "Tank Pack" which gives you the Tank, Level 5 (which i read is the strongest) suit i believe and better line cutter and two other guns.
i read they gave away the Elite free, but i guess playing for the first time 2 years after game release will have some consequence.

Re: Dead Space
Also, you probably won't play the game a second or 3rd time after you finish it because you'll be on to your next game; but all your items and upgrades carry over if you should play again.

Re: Dead Space
actually, i am looking forward to a 2nd playthrough and more. perhaps not right away, but this really gives me the urge and desire i used to get with Resident Evil 4 on Gamecube and i've played and finished that game 10+ times. it sets itself up to play with different weapons, different suits on next plays and get all the achievements i am positive i won't get this playthrough.

Re: Dead Space
I wish you could change suits during gameplay. I wouldnt mind wearing a level 2 suit, than going to the 5, back to 1, just to look different while playing

Re: Dead Space
Indeed, this will be the time that I ultimately break and pick it up. Going to slot it in after AssCreed 2 and ME2 though, so it could be six months before I get to it, hhaa.

Re: Dead Space
so i am absolutely loving this game.
i have yet to NOT jump whenever a necromorph comes out to get me!
hard as hell in the initial going for me though. one necromorph i can easily handle, but two or three and i get so twisted around. trying to run away and get some distance.
i've been experimenting with the different guns. i like Line and Plasma Cutters, with plasma carrying more ammo. so trying to build plasma up from bench (trying not to use the dlc for now). i don't save and go back and play the little section so i can practice. the Pulse Rifle was good for these little buggers (like Flood spores from Halo) that seemed to swarm me. didn't really see what the Force Gun was good for.
hope i get better during the zero-g levels as well. the first got me all twisted about wondering what to do and where to put the energy modules.
all about experimenting and exploring which i am loving. just need to get better.
are you able to upgrade the number of health slots on the back on the RIG later in the game? i see in pictures from that wiki website more slots than i have currently, but didn't see where they mention health upgrades.
