Re: Official PSN Games Thread
I've got more games in my cart from this sale then any other. I'm working on trying to get a 20% off coupon from someone that isn't using one over at Cheapassgamer.
Edit:
So got the coupon and combined with the 15% discount I get my PSN credit for this was quite the sale. I picked up:
Until Dawn
Headlander
Legend of Kay Anniversary
Four Sided Fantasy
Type:Rider
Feist
Stardew Valley
Jotun: Valhalla Edition
AeternoBlade

I thought the same thing about Octodad (which funny enough, is on sale this week for $3.75 on XB1). So I'll probably bite the bullet and grab that since I'm tired of waiting.
I'm also thinking about picking up the Just Cause XL bundle. I picked up the regular game during BF for $15, but might return it and grab this since it's an extra $5 for the DLC. Can anyone vouch for it?

Dang. I might have to pull the trigger on Firewatch and Rise of the Tomb Raider.

If you liked Just Cause 2 then you will be massively disappointed. Its a lazy sequel that lost all the sparkle of what made JC2 so amazing. I picked it up day one and within an hour hated the game. I guess it might be better for someone who has never played JC2, but seriously, even then i think its poor. The fact they were going to make this an online only game and then at the 11th hour changed their minds, but had neither the time or design capabilities to restructure the game meant that it came out poorly.

Week 3 of the Holiday Sale is up now. Lots of AAA games that have been cheaper in post-BF sales. Lots of indie games too.
Any input from The Q would be appreciated on that front.
Specifically Oxenfree, Sheltered and Lifeless Planet. I'll vouch for Strike Vector EX. That is a solid release, a competent 3D mech shooter in space. Nothing earth-shattering but pretty fun.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread
Well, I just bought a ton of games on PSN, basically because I have no self-control.
Anyways, here's the rundown of the games (along with some that I bought earlier this year), and what I think after a few minutes of play or more with each (no order);
Slain: Back From Hell - Fun old-school Castlevania knock-off (a linear one, it's not a "metroid-vania"), with a killer metal soundtrack.
Garou: Mark of the Wolves - I think I had this on the Dreamcast. Basically, a fun, 2-D fighter. An update to the Fatal Fury games, which I don't think continued (except for King of Fighters). Pretty well done for the PS4, with tons of graphic options to make look like it used to, or smooth it out for modern displays.
Cursed Castilla - A straight up Ghouls 'n Ghosts clone. Not quite as difficult, but close. Also not quite as good, but close.
Let it Die - this was free, and I know why, it's crap. You basically have to buy lives in order to keep playing, and it wasn't fun at all. Stay away!
Riptide Renegade - if you like water racing games, like Wave Racer or whatever, this should be up your alley. Enjoyable and well made, especially for it's budget price.
Inside - A classic - similar to the developer's previous game Limbo, but even better.
Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 - Not as enjoyable as the previous CEs, but it's fine. I'm not too into how the game progress works.
Assault Suit Leynos - I love the look/art/graphics of this game, but it is hard as fuck and I have no idea what I'm doing.
Song of the Deep - beautiful game, great sense of atmosphere, and it's fun... up to a point. Some of the puzzles get really fucking tedious.
Headlander - a total blast - exactly what you'd expect from Double Fine.
Jotun - beautiful hand-drawn graphics, pretty fun too. Great atmosphere.
Shantae: Half-Genie Hero - Just downloaded it last night - haven't played it yet, but if the previous games are anything to go by, it should be fun, until it's too difficult to continue...
Seraph - a straightforward, but very fun shooter/platformer. Great style and design.
Velocity 2X - my favorite of the bunch. I can't get enough of this game. It's a shooter hybrid, and it's a ton of fun, challenging but never frustrating. This is my kind of twitch-based game!

Velocity 2X launched as a PS Plus freebie.
Shantae Half Genie Hero is great. Looks fantastic. Wonderful music. I like it a lot.
I need to play Headlander. I bought it at launch but never played it.
Looked at Riptide, but it looked really rough around the edges.
You should check out Strike Vector EX. Fun mech shooter.

A question for those who have played Oxenfree:

Re: Official PSN Games Thread
The game is Dark Souls-esque, but with a post apocalyptic Running Man type setting (heavy on the over the top violence) where you're trying to get to the top of a tower. The layouts change to varying degrees each time you enter, and beating bosses/reaching different floors unlocks new fighters/items.
I have maybe 30 hours into the game so far and am enjoying it quite a bit, as well as finding it surprisingly deep.

Part of it for me too was I just didn't like how Let it Die looked, nor did I like the controls. It was ugly and controlled poorly, to me.

On the other hand I had no idea they made Marvel vs Capcom 3 backwards compatible.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread
Against my better judgement, I'm leaning toward getting that Marvel Ultimate Alliance bundle while it's "on sale" for $40. I just loved those games so much when they came out and would like to play them with my son now. I hate that it's such a ripoff though...

A few other notable mentions:
The Witness - $19.99
Abzu - $7.99
Unravel - $4.99
