Yeah most of those AAA games are cheaper at retail right now. I was hoping for more indie stuff and older titles.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Yeah, not an impressive sale. Is that Rocksmith 2014 for $15 worth it? Or better to get a disc? I don't have the converter thing yet.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Oh, but there's the new Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 for $7.11 after the 10% discount. I really liked the one that was on PS3, but I was hoping to go closer to $20 total on this sale (Mad Max, Shadow of Mordor, Tales from Borderlands, Mega Man bundle). Hmm, tough call.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

I don't know, man, maybe you just go for it. You want all of those games. You've been holding off on Mad Max until the price is right and it's definitely right. You love Mega Man and it's gonna be a while before you find one of those NES Classics. You dug Borderlands and don't tell me you're not going to get a two-dollar game. And you love Pac-Man. The only one you're not sure about is Shadow of Mordor but you've heard people talking about it forever. Plus, you're on a Lord of the Rings kick, anyway, so just go for it. Seriously, what are you going to spend the extra seven bucks on? White Castle? Just do it.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

I don't know if anyone else is allowed in your internal dialogue here, but Shadow of Mordor is great. Well worth it. Mad Max is very similar but not quite as good. Both are worth grabbing at this price -- just remember that they're awful similar games.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

You're both right, I went for it. Thanks, everybody!

Similar feel in terms of the game, I'm sure, but two very different worlds, so that has me intrigued. Plus, they're both worlds my wife likes so maybe there won't be too much grumbling if I play while she's in the room, as opposed to Battlefield or Destiny.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Similar gameplay, similar mission structures, similar look.
But yeah, different worlds. And Mad Max has a lot of racing and vehicular combat, of course.

Shadow of Mordor is a pretty good amalgam of the Arkham games with the Assassin's Creed games, but in a kinda-Middle Earth environment. Plus they have that awesome rival/revenge system that I totally loved.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

I ended up getting :
Darksiders II : Deathinitive Edition - $5.39
HITMAN - The Complete First Season - $26.99
Mega Man Legacy Collection - $5.39
Street Fighter V - 2016 Season Pass - $13.49
The Jackbox Party Pack 3 - $14.62
Stern Pinball Bundle Pack 1 (not on sale, but I need my AC/DC and Star Trek Pinball -- NOW) - $17.99

Total $83.86 (with 10% off coupon used). Got $80 of PSN credit for $76 at Target with their current Buy 1, Get 1 10% off sale, so I guess it actually cost me $4 less than that.

Now I can cancel my $41 Hitman Steelbook pre-order, so I save some money there as well.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

I don't really have interest in any of those games, but I guess the upside is that for the first time in eons, we have a month of free games where I don't already own any of them!

and I know I have the hard drive space available now.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Apparently a Game Awards sale is coming this weekend. Figure most of the Game Awards Nominees that are available on PSN will be discounted. I'll be looking to grab Firewatch at a discount. Will probably be a good time to grab Inside and/or The Witness if you haven't yet

Wow Volgarr actually costs 10 bucks? Or is that how much credit you get if you play through it?

$7.50 for last year's NFS game isn't too shabby. I put some hours into that one.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

I was just browsing the store and saw Rez: Infinite. How'd I miss that one? No way I'm paying $30 for a remaster, but definitely something to keep my eye on for a sale...or hope it joins the X1 backcompat list.

Also noticed it's PSVR compatible. That would be a fucking mind trip.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

I've only played the demo in VR and it was a blast. It was just on sale a week or two ago but I think it was only around 20% off. I'm waiting on a bigger discount. I'm also keeping an eye out on the physical release.

Re: Official PSN Games Thread

Week 2 of the holiday sale is up:

https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-...8-HOLISALE16LP

Axiom Verge is on sale for $10 ... but for some reason I don't see it listed in the holiday week 2 list. Maybe it's just a "regular" sale price? Anyway, I don't think it's been that cheap before.

Firewatch for $11? Sold!

Can't believe Rise of the Tomb Raider is already down to $30. Fantastic game.

I don't know. That game has "Future PS Plus Freebie" written all over it.
Ditto Axiom Verge (there's not much of a PS Vita pool to even choose from any more). I'm waiting on both those games.

Agreed. Great deal on a great game.
