Hmmm, those visual clues might be important for my first play through. I know I will play this more than once so maybe its best to have fun first. Also, theres no online trophies right?

I noticed that the PSN added some new Add-ons for the regular version of the game. I imagine that Dem Bones map was the Gamestop exclusive map challenge, right?

Yes. And the Crime Alley is from the Collector's Edition.

Well, after playing both DLCs, I can say that they are way overpriced. Both of them should have been bundled together for $3.49.

I'm tempted mostly by Crime Alley. If you had to choose just one of the two, which would you go for?

Hard to say. The Crime ally looks cool but it is just another beat em up 4 round challenge. The Scarecrow one is a pretty cool concept that you fight the different types of skeletons but you die if one of them connects. I haven't been able to go more than 4 rounds of skeletons yet.

Well I went ahead and got them both, because I'm a sucker for Batman and really love this game in particular. I have to agree about Crime Alley. There's nothing really to set it apart from all the other standard fighting challenges and if I had it to do over again, I probably wouldn't have bothered.

However, I really like the Dem Bones challenge, because it's a different scenario from any of the other challenges and really requires you to be on your toes. Plus, I've loved everything Scarecrow-related in Arkham Asylum, so it's nice to have a challenge where he's the villain behind it and I don't have to hear the Joker say, "Do your worst!" over and over again.

Holy shit.... I just started playing this game 2 days ago and I LOVE IT! Greatest game ever. I played last night just exploring the outside of Arkham, getting trophies and solving riddles, only doing one fight of protecting the bat mobile, and loved every second of it.

Diamond moment: Joker announcing over the PA: "Paging Dr Howard, Dr Fine, Dr Howard" Goddamn my jaw hit the floor thinking how awesome.

Yeah this game is great. My favorite of this generation. I just hope the 2nd one is 1/2 as good as this one was.

Nice! I'll be getting Batman and Scarecrow for sure. Why is Scarface shown with the Joker? That doesn't really make sense.

No love for Harley? They all look pretty good, not sure of why Scarface is with Joker either. Unless they were together in the game (not remembering for sure atm).

Screenshot from the game. Don't know if this should be spoilerized, so I'll err on the side of caution.

The Harley figure looks good...I just don't think my wife would care for it.

Despite the fact that Scarface and the Joker do have a scene in the game (per the posted screenshot), I still don't think it makes a lot of sense. The Joker appears with various characters in the game. Eh, nevertheless...very cool figures.

Grrrr, that Scarface is a fucking spoiler for me!

I had no idea Scarecrow came out either (but I found out last night). Loving this game; but Im not liking all the backtracking Im going to have to do. Plus it seems like some areas I WONT be able to go back to. Like the Morgue. Im also sick of all those fucking areas with the electric doors I cant get into.

I was just about to ask about this. I'm about at about 70% complete and I'm trying to pick up some of the Riddler trophies that I missed in the Medical facility. Is there no way to get back down to the bottom floor? The elevator won't take me back down so I've been searching for another entrance.

Re: Batman - Arkham Asylum

You can most certainly find a way to go back and get all the riddler trophies.

Replayability: Been reading online that this game doesn't have much reply action after you spend 10 hours of so beating it. Any truth to that?

After you beat the game...

Spoiler:

Previously closed off areas become opened again. In fact, some trophies are only obtainable after equipment upgrades are made during the game.

It depends on if you want to complete any of the additional challenge maps. I absolutely despise the off balanced difficulty of the Joker challenges (for PS3) and have no desire to revisit these. However, the standard challenges do add a lot of playtime to the game.

Found the other way in to the bottom floor of the Medical Facility. Feeling pretty stupid about it taking me so long.

It all depends really. If you're just one of those "complete the story" kind of modern gamers, then there's probably not much replay value.

If you're a completist who likes to find everything, solve everything, and get all the trophies - then you're looking at a couple more hours after the final boss battle.

If you get satisfaction out of the "play-this-mini-game-for-high-score" style of gaming that harkens back to early video games, then you can get tons of additional mileage out of challenge mode.
